beautiful Chinese girls excited to see black guy and invite me to come eat Chinese food for free As a black in China Chinese people are always curious when they get around us. We ate Chinese food in a food street.
This friendly family were so kind to invite me out to eat Chinese food. It was a pleasant experience as a black guy and we had so much fun.
Being black in China is always an amazing experience. This happened when I showed up in a village in China. This is how Chinese look at you if you are a black guy.

    • To be fair, they are usually talking about the government and not the actual people that are just trying to live their lives. (Not saying I agree one way or another, I don't know enough about it to form an opinion.) And that does for alot of countries, our governments give us a bad name and people think everyone in that country is like that. Most people are genuinely friendly, though obviously a bit more in some cultures.

    • Depending on where you are from, the media probably had a certain image about China. Personally, I never thought China as a bad place, it was more than I was worried that I’d make others uncomfortable. Trust me, it had nothing to do about skin colour, more just being a foreigner that doesn’t know Chinese or is causing cultural issues. But by knowing some useful phrases before travelling will help. Now I need to add China to my destinations list, I’m not a big fan of travelling but it’s a nice activity that you can learn a lot from

  • I’m an American. I had a chance to visit Beijing, Shanghai and some country villages about 10 years. The country is amazing. So much has changed from the Mao era. The people were friendly and the infrastructure in those cities made the US look like a third world country--- and that was 10 years ago. I walked around by myself day and night and never felt uncomfortable; even without knowing the language. I tried to learn a few phrases before I visited but I failed miserably in the country. Plus, many people wanted to speak English since they learn it from elementary school. If there was an unlimited pot of money I would try to make sure every student had an opportunity to visit another country. People are really no different. They want the same things all over the world: peace, economic security, a roof over their heads and time to enjoy life. Keep up the videos Mike. You are really making a great use of this platform for good.

I lived in China for 6 years - from 2000 - and still fondly remember random people inviting me to their homes or for trips out to the countryside etc. I didn't catch where this was recorded but I spent most of my time around two small cities close to Wuhan and around 10 weeks at a brand new (as in not yet built) school in Fuzhou. I forget the name but it was close to the coast. I had to leave because my work visa expired and they kept offering to send me to Hong Kong for a tourist visa. I was already 6 weeks expired and could have been refused access back if i went to HK - so my previous school sorted things out (I had made some friends in the local newspaper and government there - so they made sure I had no problems.

Since being able to speak Mandarin is crucial if you are a foreigner in China , please tell me how look did you study Mandarin before you had a good command of the language? not necessarily fluent as you are now, but enough skill to be comfortable with everyday conversations in Mandarin ?

    • Chinese Americans are more racist than actual Chinese, who live in mainland China. Racism will always exist, but Chinese Americans (or any east Asian) are seen as the model minority. Because of this, you'll often find many older east Asians in America talk down on blacks, Indians, middle eastern people etc, simply because they see these other races as "competition". It's no surprise that people with lighter skin tones are more respected than those with darker skin tones. That's why east Asian are naturally treated more better than darker skinned people. They see themselves as the top in this "minority hierarchy". In China, they have no real reason to be as racist, since it's their country. If they see someone who's not Chinese, they'll look at you like some celebrity, because it's not that common to see someone who's not Chinese. But again, there will be times in China where u WILL face real racism, because again, it will always exist.

  • I am Japanese. China is more diverse than Japan and Korea, and people are more open-minded. Also, China is a country that is easier to live in than Japan or South Korea. The high suicide rate in Japan and South Korea shows that. However, people around the world have been brainwashed through the media to think otherwise. For foreigners, Japan and South Korea are difficult countries to live in.

  • Your videos do not get old; they are "feel good" clips that don't have an expiration date. It's beautiful to see how you're actually treated in China compared to the paranoia stereotype we are fed to believe is China. In one of your videos, you mentioned China isn't your permanent home, but in another, I saw you proposed; I have a feeling you made a decision as to where you're going to be for a while or at least until she's ready to travel and leave her home country. Side note (though you probably know this already): if you're from America, don't come back, and definitely don't bring her here to live. Visit ok, to live that would be a huge mistake.

    • Thanks for your owe some feedback Bernard. It will go a long way to help this community and perhaps better someone’s live or even change what they believe or even just make them better. Our world is crumbling. Things are falling apart, there’s allot of pressure here and there. If people can live as one irregardless of race, color culture differences and so on. We’ll even be happier. An ideology our leaders try so hard to keep us away from. Coz if we do, they’re ucked…..
