I actually got to this video because I was watching an anime yesterday where there was a Chinese person that from time to time would say some phrases in Chinese. In one occation, he said "知道了" in a context where he meant "got it" or "I understood", and it was translated as "got it'", and it was so weird to me. In my brain, I was thinking that the should have said "懂了" instead, but I wasn't sure haha. It's good to know that there are other many words and phrases to also express "懂了" :D. 我香港人，想請教一下您為何中文很多名詞要加子在後面？ 例如：褲變成褲子 襪變成襪子，鞋子，但衫又沒有說衫子？ 還有杯子車子房子輪子…一大堆子的…想問這是有甚麼規則邏輯的嗎？ 雖然香港同用中文字，但以上說的名詞，我們都用一個字就表達了不用加子這個字， 然後以前又有想過，為何是加子而不是女呢？ 例如：車女，房女，褲女，瓶女…哈哈，老師有時間請解答一下。
《新华字典》注释：子，名词后缀。1、加在名词性词素后：孩子、珠子、桌子、椅子。2、加在动词或形容词性词素后：胖子、拐子、瞎子、乱子、垫子。 汉语由单音节语言向双音节语言发展，古文中多数是一字一词，现代文多数是两字一词。 不但书面语言如此，口头语言也是如此。例如：师傅姓张，称其老张，姓王，称其老王，姓上官，则不称老上官，直呼上官，或叫老上；又如，小孩子读书，总喜欢两个字两个字去读。 给一些单音节名词后加上词缀“子”使其成为双音节词，原词意思不变。
明白，果然是兩種語言很有差別啊，但我個人覺得我香港的語言講的比較乾淨利落，一般都一個字詞就搞掂，在現代的社會言語發展上年青人傾向縮短句子來表達，香港語還是比較有效率的。
所以點樣呢，語言不就係用來交流
