  • It’s absolutely insane how crucial this point was. 3rd set. Kokkinakis won the first 2 comfortably. He was 2-0 up in the 3rd set. Looking like it was gonna be an easy win. This was a break point. Murray wins the point. 2-1 in the 3rd… he then wins the set. Wins the 4th set and wins the final set after 5 hours. Insane. Heart of a Lion.

    • @@ImHim200 This one was. Usually they play 3 sets. At most it can last 3 hours. Once every 10 years you’ll get a 4 hour 3 setter which is insane (most notably Alcaraz vs Djokovic at Cincinnati last year) but at Grand Slams you play 5 sets. Average match is over 2-3 hours. And if they go all 5 sets it can be 4-5 hours or even longer. They changed the rules recently so that the final set has an end point. Because over 10 years ago a match at Wimbledon went 11 hours 💀💀

  • Andy is an absolute warrior. There may have been more talented players in his era, but he'd beat them through sheer force of will and his ability to never give up. The bloke won 3 majors and an Olympic gold, and was world number 1, in the era of Djokovic, Federer and Nadal. Then came back from a hip injury that should've ended his career and is beating seeded players in majors. A legend of the game whether you like it or not

  • That's the Murray people remember. A fighter. I also think Kokkinakis panicked a bit on the last shot. Unless I'm missing something, he didn't need to try to go for such a shot. He probably knew that and that's part of why he was frustrated.
