You know someones a complete monster when a demon hell-bent on multiversal conquest has the moral high ground.
To be fair many demons in many fictional stories are often correct in their opinions of the gods, not that demon can ever be trusted. What Terrorblade is saying about Salamene is nothing new but so accurate.
Terrorblade’s argument can be used to describe pretty much every god or deity that doesn’t understand morality. There are so many selfish and petty gods that I’ve seen in media that makes me wish they would all just disappear. There’s the gods of light and darkness from RWBY who preach about preserving balance and then just bring a guy back from the dead in some other poor schmucks bodies and trying to not look hypocritical about their own philosophy, there’s the petty bitch goddess from Tsukimichi who only cares about having people and heroes in her world who’re beautiful and then toss the “ugly” ones and monsters into a barren wasteland and even Zeus from that Netflix series who pretty much caused all of the problems in the world by being unfaithful to Hera and banging any human woman that struck his fancy and knocking them up with demi-god children.

At least demon’s acknowledged their cruelty and are real with who they are. Gods and Goddess on the other hand are petty and hypocritical, if you read a whole lot of myths and legends, notice that most of the problems humanity has is because of gods and goddesses.
This is why u don't let TB free farm for so many episodes.

Okay, Terrorblade was pretty much right about everything he said, except for one thing. Selemene's heart isn't rotting because of the death of her daughter because she doesn't truly have a heart.
no, she has a heart, but she doesn't understand love. TB called her "the Usurper", saying that she became a god so that she "would never be alone". from this we know a few things: 1. Selemene stole Mene's powers, this just confirms that; 2. Selemene was likely not always a god; 3. she lived a life alone and likely unloved before steeling Mene's power. Mene's followers still worship her today, so she was likely very loved when she lived, exactly what Selemene wanted. Selemene did not understand love, so she thought usurping Mene would give her the love that she had. When this failed, Selemene had to exile Mene's faithful from their home, and turn it into the holy land of her new followers. When Selemene had a child, she got her chance at the love she always wanted but had become so obsessed with being loved as a goddess that she destroyed that chance. When her child chose to lover her not as her goddess but as her mother Selemene did not understand and became so scared by this that she abandoned her child to her death. This fear cost her everything, and the saddest part is that she DOES lover her daughter, we can see this in every interaction with and mention of her daughter, as she's the only thing besides the lotuses that make her drop her mask. The fear of her daughter wanting her mother back, the anger at Terrorblade saying her name, these are some of the only times we see an emotion from her other than "aren't i so wonderful, don't you love me". She does love her, and she still let her die because of fear.

Funny how Selemene is so offended by Terrorblade saying her daughters name when she let her die because she wouldn't worship her
its because of her own inner turmoil with her desire to be revered as a god versus her duties as a parent and she does feel guilt but doesn't have the humility to own up to it since gods don't make mistakes
i think she just can't stand criticism for her actions. she doesn't care for her daughter

To anyone who might be wondering why Selemene was defeated. In Dota the "Gods" are powered by the faith and belief of their followers, in this scene Invoker basically made a lunar eclipse? Basically he turned the moon red and Selemene's followers couldn't feel her presense and their faith waivered so Selemene was basically weakened when she fought Terrorblade.

Gameplay aside, this really portrays TB's character so well. Arrogant yet somewhat right. Many people like Selemene are sanctimonous, the one thing Terrorblade hates. It even reflects his power very well. Having mastered his own worst self, it's only natural he would be at least this strong
This was a fraction of his potential power, just wait for the sunder bait in season 2

Something I did like about this series is the way terrorblade fights , and I'm not talking about the physical way but what he says to his foes , he literally makes them confront the reflection of their own demons , tormenting you verbally and breaking your mind before he even attacks you
That is why he is a true demon.

It makes the way they handle Metamorphosis extra fun. Instead of simply a powerful state Terrorblade taps into for a time, here it's more him growing more powerful as he seeds self-doubt in Selemene. Terrorblade prays on insecurity, and once he's found the right nerve to strike, he becomes this even more daunting creature towering over those he's tormenting. There are a lot of messy bits to this show, but I'll give them props for taking the character whose lore is more or less "edgelord demon was sent to hell supermax to stare at a mirror, then was so edgy even that couldn't keep him contained" and making him actually feel like this insidious villain.

I know nothing about Dota, but I love this scene, because someone finally puts Selemene in her place and calls her on all her hypocrisy. And he does with with such swagger.
It's a half decent show by itself but it's self contained in the sense it doesn't have much to do with the game. The makers of this show have taken a few characters from the game and a few bits of their lore and created their own story. They haven't stayed true to the lore of the game itself. Unlike Arcane, which stays true to both the game, the characters and has an amazing story

Selemene is the usurper, she stole the throne from the moon goddess mene, the game lore said mene power is sealed in the lotuses thus name the flower mene lotuses, the prophecy said mene will return when invoker laid the flower on earth/ground, thats why selemene hunt down whoever steal the lotuse and kill them she afarid that mene the real goddess will return to claim the thrones back from her
@@codysonic1 Put simply Omni Knight is a paladin to a god he calls Omniscience. He starts questioning his faith at some point but meets his god and continues his crusades against what his order deems as evil without ever questioning the Omniscience again. TB doesn't like that self righteous attitude of Omni Knight as he does what his god desires thinking that it is righteous and without any reservations.

Good person? He accepted to cature the 7 eldwyrm souls and give them to terrorblade, who will use them to reshape reality and dominate the universe, only to get revenge against selemene. Good father maybe, but not a good person anymore.

Selemene shows the definition of most gods in human mythology. In some eps selemene did show she did care for her daughter but as a god she wants ppl to worship her no matter what. Terrorbladd mention how many daughters selemene had and statue of mene it’s the “god/goddess jealous or scared of their child one day taking their spot.” Mentality. She got rid of them so she stays the one true moon goddess and only one ppl know and worship.
Selemene was the real villain here.
My theory on her reluctance was that Filomena was the incarnation of Mene, so giving her love will restore Mene to full power and thus Selemene will lose the power she stole in the first place. Invoker knew this and still wanted Filomena to have a chance at life.

Terrorblade was a spirit so he could not make an impact on physical(material) world, so in order to do that he needed to take form of flesh, which he did by killimg granny and taking her flesh
This scene alone made the series worth watching. Seeing Selemene humbled by Terrorblade felt so incredible good. After all she did to the Elves and especially Invoker, she truly earned very second of it.

Terrorblade is the antagonist you fight. Selemene is the villain you genuinely hate.
I love the detail in this fight. Specifically, the rings shuddering when her hands trembled. Her reflection thrashing about then glaring at her. The fact blood came out of her mouth on that final throwdown. All epic.

It is my favorite voice actor since titanfall 1 released, JB Blanc. In addition to Kuben Blisk he also plays Braum from LoL, Saxton Hale from team fortress, and Vander from Arcane.

by “usurper”, TerrorBlade means there was a moon goddess who is nowhere even near as bad as Selemene, right? Either that or she arrogantly messed around with so much of the moon’s magic that she, as a human, made herself a mess of a goddess.

Terrorblade is By far my new favorite Villian I don't even know how well they did justice to him form the game But the voice for him is stellaer. The whole sequence Of this fight WAS PURE JOY I was rooting for Terrorblade to kill her honestly. And I love What he told her. "You know what a Demon Calls a God Who knows no worship, no love... Food."

Terrorblade was absent for almost the entire season, but his character is already more likeable than Selemene's, both being villains. This scene alone worth the entire series for me
This is like playing and the other team carry is TB, and your team let him free farm 30 min.And eventually start team fight then TB pops out of nowhere and kills your carry instantly.
Reminds me of being 5 slotted TB and watching the BF+Manta Jugg failing to kill a single Illusion with Omnislash.

i think im doing it wrong i farm for 30 mins (200 creep and 2 kills lul avg) 3 items but i still cant do shit till like min 40 :/ my build looks like (Hand of Midas 'for gold ' Aghanim Scepter '10+ of Demon form and fear' Manta Style and boots
@@justaguywholikeshentai9019 Midas is no good idea and scepter is usually purchased later on. My build is Wraithband- Magic Wand if needed-Treads-Manta or Sange Yasha-Skadi and then you can adjust to the game. Butterfly if they have no mkb buyer, mkb against wr and pa etc and, then Satanic and now is time for scepter.

i love shit thats powerful the way this is dude. that last line from terrorblade, while selemene is crying from the pain (and probably from knowing she's been betrayed by everyone who once worshipped her, an extension of her fear of loneliness that killed her own daughter) is just so resentful and strong, i really feel the contempt. i wish this was a categorical thing i could search for online, but i guess i'll just have to compile moments like this as i come across them.

I get the feeling this entire fight is one giant: "Do not recite the ancient magics to me, witch. I was there when they were written." sort of thing.
The thing I love most of all about this series has got to be the audio. The VA's here have an absolutely commanding presence with every line and, and deliver their lines so well, it's insane. Luna, Selimene, Terror Blade, Invoker, and Mirana are just so well cast in this show it is glorious.
Fun Fact: JB Blanc, voice actor for Terrorblade voiced Vander from Arcane and Caustic from Apex Legends.

@@valleymoto10 yes, you simply go to him to buy stuff but in lore you cannot steal from him,that's actually how Roshan got cursed. A little summary on him: The dude killed a shopkeeper and stole the argis of the immortal, so he was cursed to stay in one cave to be killed endlessly while having the aegis stolen each time. So you find him in game, kill him and around 3 mins he will respawn again

In Dragons blood season 2 this happened: Invoker: You will kill Selemene and take back what's yours. Fymrn: Not even your magic can kill a god!? Invoker: Of course it can, I've done it before! I think Invoker helped Selemene kill the previous Moon goddess Mene! And when Selemene took her place she was drunk for power and worship even for her own daughter!

what i love about this anime is it isn't cliche.. selemene looks like a protagonist but is a antagonist.. and terrorblade looks like an antagonist but he is a protagonist
first, protagonist does not mean good guy. second terrorblade was wrong. he's not thanos. third, terrorblade killed people and manupilated them into killing others.

wow I remember when dota was just a simple game in warcraft invoker's got 27 spells, pudge can summon corpse, now its this epic strategy game and they even made this animation with some totally epic cgi fight we got. I really love how icefrog made DotA and valve made it this far

I noticed something from Terrorblade. When he leaves from inside temple, his step were really silent. Usually demon who are wearing weaponry or metal, they make loud steps. On this case, your wouldn't even hear Terrorblade approaching you from behind... Unless he wants you to.
I loved how power level is treated is this series. These two have extreme powers and strenght but they're gods so its understandable differently from the end at legend of Korra where she simply end up shooting lasers to kill a chaos god that came out of nowhere.

The whole fight was just Terror Blade making a point: Selemene was a pretender to Godhood, and without her worshippers and faithful, she was just something to play with.
