These decks are neat, but they are miserable to play against, simply because of how much durdling they do. It's like eggs or cat oven.
real. i literally start playing a different videogame sometimes while my opponents rope.
yeah im just incredibly bored of the fetch lands, the pace is glacial
Especially on arena where a solid 10 minutes of their 20 minute turns are just waiting for them to tutor the basics they no longer have in the deck.
Can't wait for capena to leave standard
It’s one of those: “dear opponent please wait now while I play Magic by myself for a while” decks.
Crazy! That first game really showed the business, but it helps that the opponent did absolutely nothing the entire game…
Really hate solitaire decks so I can’t watch this. But dropped a like cause you’re the best.
I love this deck but man I wish Arena had a speedier way of choosing the mana triggers with Nissa, it must be possible to code in bulk choices when it reaches a certain scale
im sure wizards will make the two interns and paperclip get on that.
@@domoblazesunderplane3358Clippy is too busy being an absolute G to associate with the likes of WOTC
I love jund and Im always very happy to see non-sacrifice archetypes. Thx LVD for showing
Not sure I'd call it a "non-sacrifice" deck... A solid 20 cards in the deck either sacrifice themselves or other permanents you control.
@@Zeckenschwarm I was thinking about the cat/oven etc style decks but your obviously right this is a very sacrificy deck :)
Cool content. Not really my type of deck but that is why I appreciate you showcasing them. Thank you for all the great entertainment.
It's such a satisfying *THUD* when all 47 lands hit the battlefield at the same time.
This really reminds me of the Temur Reclamation deck from a while back, with Nissa who Shakes the World and Expansion/Explosion. Fun times...
It did not durdle as much. That is one of my all time standard decks.
Great deck, thank you Luca :)
This video had a nice variety of match ups for this beautiful deck. Nice video!
Normal deck: turn 4, 4 lands Green deck: turn 4, 15 lands
"Got a stew going here!" 😂
I think I speak for everyone when I say how glad I am that solitaire is back in standard 😢
achieving solitaire without blue really is a feat
I’ve actually never played solitaire. What’s the reference between the 2?
@victimizeakaboomsta8995 it's an mtg joke, referencing a deck style where you take long, usually uninteractive turns. Typically to achieve a combo.
@@Levi-rz1je yeah, really Junderrated
Speak for yourself and only yourself
JUND!? SAY LESS, I LOVE IT!!!! WOOOO!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Amazing
I finally built this version and I love the combo nature of it. However I miss the green virtue. If only for the adventure side to get a land back or one of the elves. The tutor is neat and the carnage card reminds me of Reprocess (I think that’s the name of the card from Urza’s Saga that lets you sac stuff to draw).
wait until High noon takes control of standard …. control winter is coming
Lol cant imagine
Graveyard hate def takes the wind out of this deck. Sideboards are going to start accounting for matchups
Rest in Peace/High Noon, here we go!
Dont forget Kutzils Flanker: so they will sacrifice the Analyst or use Reclamation and will get rid of one full turn, an important combo piece + their whole graveyard!
Match one: Oppo's turn. LVD's turn: "That's not a knife... THAT'S a knife" 🤣
Can you imagine resolving hundreds of triggers in paper magic 🤣
All the triggers are the same thing so it's easier. Like if you bring back 5 fetchalnds you just look for 5 lands at the same time. Only the most obnoxious of players will tell you to do it individually and likely they're just stalling to run out the clock which is against the rules
@@MidgarMerc the whole deck is pretty obnoxious, unless you can take them out with mono red or something fast, you get to sit there for a few minutes while they play with their deck with like 90% probability that you will lose in the end.
It’s easier in paper because you already know how many lands you have so you can just declare how many of each color you’re getting instead of doing one by one
@@Talk-No-Jutsu you also don't have to individually resolve each Nissa trigger and can just say "10 Nissa triggers on the stack, I'll add 5 green, 3 black and 2 red mana".
@@jasonslade6259 exactly
Nissa has a really cool design! Ok, now for the serious statements...
playing solitaire MTG. Fun meta
Seems the way to deal with this deck is to always hold removal for Nissa before she can float mana
You can still go off with Spelunking, but Nissa is certainly a must-answer.
Lightning Helix ftw
Do you have any thoughts on livestreaming? Or messing around with some games other than Arena?
Ppl scoping cuz they dont wanna deal with the triggers rather then losing...
Not surprising, this deck is kind of solitaire, and it takes forever to generate the mana and the value needed to end in a one shot kill
24:42 I was afraid a Tishana's Tidebender out of nowhere was gonna make a huge blow
What do you think of Lilah, Undefeated Slickshot? She just seems like a pretty good card to me, but I'm not sure if the kind of deck where she'd shine on is achievable in standard. She doesn't really fit in the izzet aggro archetype that well. I'm thinking maybe jeskai, since it has access to various solid 2-color spells like Helix, but I'm not sure.
Feels a little slow for Standard, but Helix is indeed the first card I would try to pair with it.
I'd be doing this with desert lands
The new Expansion/Explosion in standard...
Wow... if you are mid-range and facing a good red aggro deck it is really pretty over soon (without having interaction like this deck here).
Jund beating Temur, hell yeah
Fuck this 3 year standard
Ohhh so that's how people are playing with cards from years back. When did that happen? I'm out of the loop.
I would love to see some bo3 videos too!
The removal has gotten so efficient, the best way to play around them is to play non interaction games...
To be fair, the threats in Standard are also kind of wild. Like if Gix or Sharpshooter stay on the board for 1 turn cycle you're probably toast. Even weird off-meta stuff like Botanical Brawler, Rot Priest or Virtuoso can kill you incredibly fast if you don't have spot removal.
How do you think we can change the deck to make it more competitive in bo1 especially against aggro?
Cut Down, Go for the Throat and Path of Peril are options, but the more interaction you add the less likely you are to combo off.
These are the combos I like seeing
I played this deck 4 times in a row going second against mono red before i stopped wasting my time and swapped to a deck that is actually for best of 1
Naya Version of this Deck does well in Bo1
I wonder if there is selection bias, where decks played by people who did poorly in draft have an artificial winrate boost because they are on average playing against decks and players that are worse. In an ordinary tournament the only way to get into the lower rungs of a swiss bracket is by losing with the deck, which will show up in its winrate. But in this tournament losing in the draft means you play against other players who are doing poorly in general across both formats without any losses tallied for the standard deck.
Could be a factor, although since the sample sizes are so small it's difficult to draw any meaningful conclusions.
hopefully something new will crop up that isnt so dull to play against even if it is cool to watch the first few times
PT just ended. The "new" that cropped up is Domain came back with a vengeance and esper raffine came back. Just old decks with a couple new cards. This deck folds to graveyard hate and because of how popular the temur version was before MKM, most decks that have white now have RIP in the side board as a 1-2 of to deal with it.
Jund chads 👋
Yeesh, would really hate to play against this deck. Having to sit through a big pile of triggers is a drag.
I love this deck but if I see I am against it I do not have the patience to play that game.
It's crazy how many times my arcane bombardment deck beats this exact deck, yet somehow it wins the tourney.
Easy fix just take arcane to the tournament and put up results
@Talk-No-Jutsu I'd love to. The problem is you'd have to be lucky not to run into the counters to this. Control decks can dominate it. My arcane deck runs opponent graveyard control and removal. Along with hexproof instant speed to avoid targeting.
I was so upset that I didn't get to see this deck on the Pro tour. I ran into it on Arena last week, but the opponent made a Misplay and forgot to Tap their Lands before playing Pitiless Carnage. Made for a good Clip though :D
Grave hate is more painful for this deck that temur is
If you had a Bristly Bill on turn 2 in game 1 lol
Much better than the other version but still slow
Love this deck but hate to play it hahaha. Clicking a million times with nissa triggers is such a slog on arena
People joke in Hearthstone that Druid has infinite mana. This deck puts that idea to shame. This is actually ridiculous
This deck looks fun! 🤥
If I had kept that hand on the first game my first three draws would have been uncastable three drops and i would have lost badly.
Ur cursed, yep
Wow King of Combo's right here folks!
Plot is an ability that's hard to see the value in at first, but when you see it in action it becomes clear very quickly just how busted it is.
lol with this level of expertise you could balance for WOTC!
algorithm
Man, as an alchemy player, its so weird to see these goldfish combo decks actually working. In alchemy any important creature just gets The End'ed instantly.
I really don't like Shigeki in these decks. He feels like the weakest link by a lot. Maybe could be some interaction instead?
It’s pretty important to recur cards out of the graveyard in the late game.
@@LegenVD I know you featured a game where that helped. But, Shigeki still feels far too greedy to me. I would like it in a more reactive deck that holds up interaction, but in a deck this proactive just looks like a dead card in the opening hand. If he really is vital would definately incentive me to muligan hands with him.
@@BlakeFaeMorton It's still a fine early play to help you ramp.
Pls more BO3 content
One small comment - given that this deck only saw play in 20 games, I don't think it's terribly statistically accurate to say that it's the best Standard deck from the Pro Tour. Granted, I don't know where you exactly one should draw that line for a result to become statistically significant, but I think the data instead suggest that Azorius Control is the best Standard deck. I will readily admit that a 76.5% winrate is still insanely good, but if I remember correctly, Dimir Control had a 90% winrate in PT MKM. However, this almost certainly wasn't because Dimir Control was the best deck in Pioneer (because as much as I love the deck, it isn't), but rather because Dimir Control *piloted by Gabriel Nassif* is the best deck in Pioneer. Nevertheless, I will fully admit that Jund Rec looks really strong, and I'm quite tempted to give it a whirl on Arena!
if you play this deck against me, you get a free win. im not sitting there for minutes every turn and wait till you sorted your lands xD its.. diffrent, but i would not say its a good deck. its not realy respecting your opponents time.. if you just sit there and rope them down to inches before the last timer every single turn it would feel almost the same.
I really enjoy the idea of this deck but it does make for some boring matches.
standard looks "fun" eh?
That first match was filthy
The play pattern of these decks is so cheeks
First
Definitely the worst deck to play against with all those triggers
Makes no sense to beat control deck.
First!
Nah this other guy with the exact same name as you was first
Oh the most popular deck's players all struggle with the limited format? Color me surprised 😐😂🤣
This is destroying me 😂😂
Why players are still playing MTG Online despite Arena having better presentation and game play.? ANSWER : because it is very rigged.
This is why they luckily decided to make creatures more powerful, these decks are so incredibly boring to play (against) Just saying they probably missed this combo during playtesting / will be banned soon
Deck is miserable
most boring meta in a while
Let’s see some BO3, Legend
