Ireland definitely spotted something on the left wing. I think most of us were so blown away by Duhan's attacking threat, but Ireland capitalised on his defensive weakness that I definitely missed. Uncertainty under the high ball and bad tackle technique in the corners. Conan made him look like a little boy. Well done Ireland!

Hate to say it, but yeah. Duhan's a good defender at club level, but he's got a habit of making mistakes that are costly at international level. Can't fault him for Hansen's try, but he progressively got worse as the game went on

Must be the best tournament for years and years. It's got all the drama. Red cards and citings. Massive refereeing faux pas. Biggest thumping of an England team in history. Welsh threatening to strike. Scotland not being garbage. Italy flinging it around and looking a threat. Some of the best games I've ever seen in Ireland v France and Scotland v Ireland. Best Team in the world on show getting through games with their 7 throwing into a lineout and a propr playing hooker. Setting up in the final round for their ageing 10 in possibly his final Aviva game to take the triple crown, championship, grand slam and record points scorer in Dublin on St Patrick's day... The commentator here, Ryle Nugent, elevates referee Luke Pearce to the high position of being “…arguably the best referee in world rugby right now…”. Well, all I can say to that is that after this match, he has fallen spectacularly from that particular lofty pedestal because Mr. Pearce had an absolute shocker of a game! It would be difficult to find a worst refereeing performance. He missed so many crucial moments, and failed to take appropriate action on so many occasions during the game. He also seemed to leave his yellow cards back in the dressing room! Stuart Hogg alone committed two cast iron yellow card offences, one in either half, both of which were blatantly intentional! How did the referee, his two assistants and the TMO miss these offences? Numerous offences at the ruck by both teams, but particular by Scotland constantly entering at the side saw penalty advantage after advantage after advantage being called without the appropriate sanction of a yellow card??!!! A perfectly good early try by Ireland was wrongly disallowed, the reasoning that a “new ball” had been thrown in at the lineout, being relied upon. However, at that time it wasn’t noticed that one Irish player and one Scottish player had moved into position to form the linoeout. Now, correct me if I’m wrong but I’m led to believe that in accordance with the laws of the game two players, as described heretofore, positioning themselves as such, constitutes a lineout. Therefore it is irrelevant which ball was used. Where was the TMO in all of this? I’ve no doubt Mr Pearce has reviewed his performance and has gone and made all the appropriate apologies, after the fact. But that’s just not good enough in a match of this importance. Yes, the correct team won the match but it could have all gone so wrong if the Ireland team hadn’t been able to adapt so well in order to deal with to all of the adversity (including numerous refereeing mistakes) that they faced in the game. In the Ireland v France match, James Lowe was adjudged to have scored a try that referee Wayne Barnes clearly should have disallowed (debates re a possible penalty try being justified in the same incident aside…). The French prop Atonio should also have seen a red card in that game. Two shocking mistakes. World Rugby and the Referees governing body both need to tackle this.
@Driver2616 Жыл бұрын
He was shocking for both teams, i think all the "best ref in world rugby" talk got to his head... Pearce was making scotland go ten yards back for asking simple questioons, not even acting arsey or anything, he's definitely got a chip on his shoulder IMO

@aidenoleary7406 Жыл бұрын
In 2011, a similar incident happened where Wales took a quick throw in and scored from it. Ireland claimed it was a different ball, but it was turned down. After the match, 6N admitted the refs got it wrong. The Law preventing a quick throw has three situations where it cannot be allowed. The ball is touched by someone else other than the player who brought it into touch, before the quick throw is taken. So someone in crowd, a ball-boy, an official must not touch it. Second, it must be the same ball that is used for the quick throw in. And third, a line out cannot have formed already.
@thrillerwriter2087 Жыл бұрын
@@thrillerwriter2087 In this case(2011) I don't see the issue or problem if the on pitch refereeing team allowed the quick play. The fact that Ireland's(as an Irish man) only gripe with it can be that it wasn't the same ball, for me, is wrong. If the ball is available at the same location as the ball that has just gone off the field I don't see why there should be an issue. As I said in another comment, if the quick play is deemed too quick then let the refereeing team call it. This then allows for teams to suffer the consequences, or not, of quickly taken plays. If you elect to throw it quickly and it bites you in the backside then so be it.
@aidenoleary7406 Жыл бұрын
@@aidenoleary7406 If you're referring to the 2011 incident then you need to consider: Sexton kicked the ball into the crowd - the crowd handled it. The ball-boy gets another ball, cleans it, and hands it to the Welsh hooker in front of the linesman. The hooker then steps into field of play whilst throwing the ball to Mike Phillips even though the Irish players had arguably formed a line out, and scores a try. It shouldn't have been allowed on a number of fronts. Six Nations head of referees apologised to Irish team afterwards saying they got it wrong, because it was a different ball. But that was not the only reason it should not have stood.

First Half was one of the most intense, quality displays of Rugby I've had the privilege to watch
My body hurt just watching
That step by Mack Hansen to cause the defense to pause before releasing the pass to Conan was a thing of beauty in a ridiculously good game.
The Magician.
I have been watching this championship since the early 70s when I was a teen and this one was maybe the best ever. Ireland, France and Scotland thrilled me all the way through and Italy for the first few games were a revelation. This is the greatest rugby tournament in the world for me.
Strange highlights. Missing so many line-breaks and other key moments. The Scottish overthrow and ruled out Irish try at the beginning of the match being one.
Like they just randomly chopped video..
Definitely rushed. They also missed out the high ball by Gibson-park that started the play leading up to Lowe's try
agreed
Would have liked to have seen all the mad injuries too. Such a mad story of a game
Some lineout highlights should have been in there. Too rare a scenario not to include at least some
Ireland definitely spotted something on the left wing.
Can't fault him for Hansen's try, but he progressively got worse as the game went on
@@sumboi2321 Mate, as a South African, I blame him for all three tries as well as the two scored by England in your game against them, and thank my lucky stars we have better quality wingers. He just always seems to find himself in no man's land and at this level, that is just not good enough.
My whole philosophy with Duhan is that he is an u-14’s rugby player in a test players body. Running sideways, no kicking game, poor positioning in the back field. Would like to see Kinghorn on the wing against Italy with Duhan coming on to run over people after 60 mins
We absolutely missed Darcy Graham at crucial times yesterday - he would have finished those 2 vital ones in the first half and defended better
@@sumboi2321 yea he didnt have a good game, Scotlands left has been exploited a couple of time sin this tournament, but Ireland just went up a gear in the second half and were untouchable..
What a 2023
Yes, people will miss that. It's an historic season.
France Vs Scotland was a great game aswell!
What were the refereeing faux pas?
@@bernieone1 absolutely!
@@ThanatoselNyx Lowe's try against France, failure to red card Antonio which led to his citing. There will have been others but I think they're two of the big ones that seemed to spark quite a lot of debate throughout the next week
Mack Hansen was excellent in attack AND defence. Easily MOTM in my view. As a Scot, the second half was disappointing after the ultra competitive first but fair play to Ireland - they really are an unrelenting beast and a pleasure to watch.
As an Irish fan it also needs to be said how good this Scotland team are. It was a very tough game for most of it and the progression in your team is excellent. Wish we didn’t have to play you so soon with the World Cup.
Porter being awesome again. Most of his good work goes unnoticed.
This comment is meant in humor, but Johnny Sexton just popping up out of nowhere at 0:36 had me chuckle. Congratulations on his recent achievement. Playing rugby in your upper 30's is strong. Great job Ireland, from a die hard Scotland fan

Super performance from Ireland. Loved Sexton shouting at the boo boys in the crowd after his last conversion.

Englishman here, I am absolutely terrified for next weekend.
I’m worried as an Irish man, there is nothing worse that a team that have nothing to play for, on the back of a bad defeat to come out swinging. Our injuries could be an issue against England but let’s see 👍
Don't forget to turn up, we will go easy on you . We love you, your my bitch .

@@liamquigley891 ahahahah ok son of a beach
Scotland is a 60 minute team, plucky losers
A good level match, Scotland are back to the tournament but Ireland was irresistible this year ! Well done guys, good job !!
You have to recognize how much more neutral the Irish/Scottish commentators are to the English ones. Makes watching the game so much enjoyable.
The English ones usually seem to be bad winners and sore losers, it gets on my nerves
You’ve just noticed!? 😂
I could watch this over and over.🇮🇪☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️.
He was shocking for both teams, i think all the "best ref in world rugby" talk got to his head... Pearce was making scotland go ten yards back for asking simple questioons, not even acting arsey or anything, he's definitely got a chip on his shoulder IMO
"It was all created by the brilliance of Hanson in the air", no it wasn't, this is Gibson-Park wizardry. He was there from start to finish and even under immense Scottish pressure managed to get passes away, genius scrum half. MOTM for me.It's no coincidence we were better after he came on, quick ball is crucial in rugby. World class.
Should Luke McGrath replace Murray?
Scotland did brilliant in the first half they gave Ireland a lot of problems but then they went down hill in the 2nd part of the match but great game by both teams 🇮🇪🏴.
This was the most encouraging match for Ireland in this Six Nations. Scotland had serious form coming into this match and Ireland had to deal with a lot of adversity during the match.
Nah it was definitely France
Ireland deserves the Great Slam!!

This was reminiscent of old Irish teams against the All Blacks. Gave the AB's a game for 60 minutes and then the class of the AB's came to the fore. Only difference between AB and Ireland being, Rugby in NZ is no1 sport, in Ireland it's no4. That significance is rarely mentioned, although I might add, I mention it quite a bit, 😀 I'm as relentless as a 1966 English football fan.

The new ball rule needs to be changed. Why the offending team face absolutely no repercussions is scandalous. What's even more scandalous is that it's not in any of these highlight reels!
@@garysmith5025 Yes I know but my point is that it shouldn't be seen as an infringement at all. The rule should just be gone.
@@garysmith5025 That should be a referees call to make if there is such behaviour going on. Quick lineouts are taken all the time. Why should the ball used make any difference. If it's too quick it's for the referee to call.
The commentators actually called Luke Pearce the best referee in world rugby. Are you serious!! Rugby (northern hemisphere rugby in particular) is looking so good at the moment.
