As soon as spring comes around, baby birds leave their delicately made nests and learn to fly. But not all nests are the same. Some are woven with utmost care like a seamstress by the Golden-headed Cisticolas, while others make nests that just look like tiny little sacks. But nothing beats the Gyrfalcon nest that is passed down generation by generation! Some were even present when Jesus was still around!

Golden-Headed Cisticola
Most birds would use sticks and twigs to build their nests. But the Golden-headed Cist colas isn’t about that cheap-life style. These Australian birds actually use spider webs to sew a living canopy out of leaves. The bird’s nest is only 20 inches above the ground, but the camouflage directs it from any sort of predators. To make this intricate canopy, the birds literally pierce the leaves with their extremely sharp needle-like beak and pull the so-called “thread” to stitch it together. It’s more like a piece of art than a nest that both sexes make! No wonder these birds are also known as the tailorbirds.
Bald Eagle
Bald eagles seem to like the true American style with their big ol’ nests. These eagles make their nests far bigger than they actually need. They start out with smaller nests when they’re mating. The nests are just layers of branches and sticks in a triangular pattern. As years pass by, the eagles add more and more layers to the nest until it becomes big enough for an adult human to sit on it! However, the nest is 125 feet above the ground, so it’d be pretty hard for a human to reach.
