    • shain hinson oxalic acid is what they use to clean them. It’s a white powder that you mix in some water and cook them on low heat for couple hrs then let them cook down before you wash them off or they will crack.

  • When I lived in North Carolina my family and I would go mining for crystal and semi precious gems. Lots of great memories and fun. We were going through some hard times with my mom having cancer and it allowed us some time to go out and do something as a family that wasn't to physically tiring. We would sit my mom in a chair, bring her what we found and she would clean them off. Actually had some aquamarine cut and made into necklaces for my mom and sisters.

  • Oh, Lord! What a haul of BEAUTIFUL CRYSTALS! It is so much fun watching you guys pull out such amazing surprises at that incredible mine! It's like Christmas time all year round mining at the Ziegers (?) Mine! You look like you are having so much fun! I'd be in heaven - gently pulling clusters out of the Mother Earth. Back in the 1980s (not sureof the exact time), I went to a Gem & Crytal show at CW Post College in Long Island, New York. Someone from Arkansas dove a truck load of Arkansas crystals, of all shapes and sizes, to this show - held in Nov or Dec (before Christmas). I could feel my heart racing with joy - just admiring the beauty of their haul of crystals. You could not wipe the smile off of my face! I purchased many crystals cluster (small enough to carry out to my car) to give away to special people as Christmas presents. I wish another Arkansas person would drive a truck truck load of crystals to NY to one of our Gems shows in Long Island - after this Pandemic subsides. Just watching you guys get so excited at your finds and washing off and uncovering their beauty is so enjoyable. You can't wipe the smile off of my face. I LOVE & SO APPRECIATE CRYSTALS. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm! How do you carry off those huge clusters of Museum style from the mine??? Love Your Video - What Fun!!!

  • Old disabled house bound dusty rusty Rockhound here:. Some of my best memories are covered in red Arkansas mud. Nature's dermatological mud pack. Took days to get it out of your pores. We found crystals so big, they were the size of a human toddler. (Back in the 1960's & '70s). My Dad traded them to collectors for other rock and gem specimens... I grieve him not keeping a couple. It's hard for the average hunter to find them like that big these days. So many claims are commercialized. I'm very impressed with your finds. So satisfying!

  • I have a small crystal mine of my own, really a 1800's gold mine. Tip for you guys working the bank face: Try hydraulic mining instead before the bars and shovels. You can dig a pit to collect the water and recirculate it with a trash pump. Lot easier on your knees and easier on the crystal. You will raise the productivity quite a bit. Recently, a friend got into the Naicas mine in Mexico with the crystals like telephone poles. Beyond description.

We put the in a wagon and walked around our neighborhood trying selling them door to door for a honest price of 7-12$... needless to say we sold out first night never found anymore. I still remember when it was I might go back there. Edit: 4:35 is what they looked like but not as clean
