I’m from Detroit but live in Tennessee now. I vacation in Detroit for sports at least once a year. Key word VACATION
When all is said and done, professional sports is entertainment to generate revenue and profits. And Detroit provided the stage to make the 2024 NFL draft an entertaining event. And allowed the NFL to generate positive interest in the upcoming season that should have a positive impact on the NFLs bottom-line.

It is funny they mentioned a SuperBowl parade. As a Lion fan that has not lived in MI since I left for the military 30+ years ago and had suffered around fans of other franchises for years along with knowing that I will never be able to afford to go to a SuperBowl. I have always said I am going when there is a Lion parade.
From the times I’ve been downtown it’s ALWAYS CLEAN Which can’t be said for cities considered MAJOR and even ones smaller that have had better reputations

Its not the same DOWNTOWN Detroit. Everybody who lives in Michigan knows, you dont go more than a mile away from Downtown. Go ahead, make a wrong turn and end up in one of the neighborhoods surrounding Downtown.
