Hi Andrew, good to get out where ever you end up going, interesting little hunt, got some pretty cool stuff, gas lamp fittings, big lead bullets and that bit of fancy is very cool, see you running all terrain fast with the sensitivity down to 15, for trashy areas, seems to work nicely, hope your well my friend, give our love to Viv. Gday Bill and Julie. I’ve hammered that area but still a little bit more to find. Yes I am running in fast but I have settings from Sid from Englands history. He set it all up and can find minims in amongst all the hobnails with it. I’m using it down in the trash so when we get to the UK I can find all the great stuff there. 3 and a bit months left. Howdy Andrew, Hope you and Viv are feeling better now. I got covid last December for the first time. I kind of enjoyed it because they wouldn't let me come into work for a week after testing positive. Whenever my wife would come to me with a task she felt I needed to be doing I'd put my hand on my chest and complain of a dire shortage of breath. Covid can be very useful if your a lazy bum like me. I really liked the boot last. I think I'd take the time to clean the rust off and paint it black. Maybe it's not quite pool room worthy but it's close. Hi Andrew, hope you n your good lady didn't get the covid too badly? I've had it a couple of times and its not a patch on man flu! I imagine been out in that heat while not 100% is very draining. Not the most spectacular finds in the world there, but you sure are good at identifying almost every single weird and wonderful item you unearth. Hope you are well and see you soon. G
Gday Gareth. We did but it was our first time. Better now though. I do agree that the finds weren’t overly brilliant but that is metal detecting. Did get some nice silver just this weekend. You will see that in about 3 weeks. Some of the things stumped me this time but it is good to have a bit of knowledge about what is in the ground. I get a lot of people come into the shop where I work to show me their finds and find out what they have got. Very cool and humbling. It won’t be long now before we are over. Hi CBK, hope you and Viv are feeling much better, your escape up the escarpment I'd speculate an aid to an airing of the lungs outdoors, like taking the effort in fluffing the pillows. And some free expectoration! I could only be guessing that the item threaded one end, hard plastic locator the other end, maybe a CB Radio antenna mount? Military field radio antenna mount? It'd have allowance for the wiring free of spiralling on antenna attachment or detachment. Not a Roman Legionnaire detachment.

Good hunt! Rest up and be well- the outro looked like a symptom of the virus to this old nurse. It took me quite a bit to get the old wits back after covid.

I have yet to get covid and don't want it! I have seen that strainer thing somewhere in the past however don't remember where. I think it was on a breather tube of some description. I will sleep on it. By the way you were sounding better at the end of your hunt than at the start, getting out in the fresh air did some good. Get well soon. Cheers John

Luck wished. My coffee’s on a Friday have not been tasting the same for a while. It was real detecting. Not great finds but I was out with everyone tagging along which is a great thing. We are both better. Take care mate 😁👍

Back in the the late 70s and very early 80s Australia had no idea about what was going to be a fashionable colour for the session, the only place we could gage was what Myer and David jones had for sale in their city stores, So I’d be out on the town with my mates trying to pick up, instead I’d be looking at the shoes lol 😂 They called me all sorts of homophobic names 🤣🤣
The ring thing looks like a compression ring that would go under a spark plug, large one like a tractor or model A Ford would use. Model T (older) didn't need them as they had tapered threads.

The strainer thingy you found looks like it’s out of an old fuel pump, the ones with the glass bowl on top of them.

You know, I think its the first time ive partially recognised a find before you did, I told you, but it took a while for you get the message, Andrew! I think its a filter! Though the message got scrambled, and you said a strainer, But I dont remember saying anything about looking through it at the sky, And I dont think my voice is that high pitched, is it? I Mean, IS IT? You saw a maybe gas light fitting, I saw a robot head with a big nose wearing a slouch hat. Oh! And Andrew! Its always good to keep in mind and.....? Umm! Ahh! Damn! I cant remember!
