If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbitl in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.

  • Heres the truth: you will send 100 DMs to potential clients and you will get at least 1 meeting with a client out of that. Do it everyday and you will have a thriving business.

    • You can do it on more established accounts. For less established ones, 50 is the upper limit for Insta

    • it's not his success strategy, it's his customer acquisition strategy. which is a valid strategy. cold calls/emails/dms simply work. you need a good offer and to know how to present it tho. (which he also touches on briefly)

  • Doesn’t work, instagram changed the rules. Your first DM got to be approved by the person who sees it. Do it a number of times and you get flagged by the system and can’t send messages for a limited time.

    • @@kickoGaming it could, but hosting is offered for free by many major tech companies, and it isn’t really the end product that many people want anyway. What most people want in that category is a website and don’t really know or care what hosting is, so it might make more sense to offer websites (design it for them), with hosting as an additional up sell.

    • @@kickoGaming Yup, as Hormozi said in another video: confused customers don’t buy. That’s why it’s important to keep the product simple, at least superficially. There’s no harm in giving that info if asked or mentioning it on your site, but never let it be a roadblock to anyone being able to understand what your product is on a basic level.

    • ​@@user-pp4gr7vi4thella bud i'm going to speak from experience, i made 5 accounts and let them warm up for almost a month( it's quicker to use an old account) and i send 100 dms from each account a day. after 100 dms give or take, every account gets banned for messaging for 24h also give or take, now we wait, i usually get 13-15 answer from each account . you want ppl to be interested in your product? enter a recent tag and dm people who post on it, or even a location for recent posts..❤ (just wish me good luck with my business) 😊

    • Look it up online maybe there’s tricks, But to be honest don’t sound like a advertising bot, and people will generally accept if they see it

    • Yes this is my experience too, I don't know why everyone is talking about sending 100dms per day, you simply can't. I'm going to try and do it over multiple platforms so that it amounts to as many DMs per day as possible without getting banned.
