Apple needs to get deeper into AI. Despite having great hardware, their models aren't good enough. They've been shopping around, and now the rumors are getting out.
Will they go with OpenAI ChatGPT or Google Gemini? To be determined.

Even if it's just ChatGPT 3.5, this would be light years further than where Siri has ever gotten.
MS and Apple together again, Just like the MS Office days
MS will f.. over Apple again if that happens. MS is one of the most backstabbing companies in Tech.
OpenAI is it's own company, they aren't actually owned by Microsoft. They get a cut of profits but do not actually own any part of the company.
Microsoft saved Apple from bankruptcy back in the 90's, they're frenemies
I just want iOS and Android, Windows and Mac OS to live in harmony. Not be completely walled off from each other.
Had no idea Siri went all the way back to 2010, that’s a decade and a half of absolute suckage. Geesh...
One issue that I see for apple is they sticking with very little RAM on the phones and sticking with small battery sizes, that limits a lot the model sizes they can run locally
mistral 7b can be run on iphone

@@rehanshah4262How well does it run?
I heavily doubt that if a partnership happens that they'll use it in iOS 18. If they are talking about partnering this late (1 month from WWDC) then most likely those feature will not even be shown/talked about at the WWDC. These partnership features will probably be shipped with iOS 19+.
> they didn't improve siri since Thats not true. I use siri daily to control my lights, and the first big improvement was a few years ago, that lots of stuff now happens on device. So now if I activate a homekit szene like "activate szene two" it only takes a fraction of a second to put it into action. Another big change just came very recently that siri now keeps context. So if I say "activate szene two" and after that I activate siri again an just say "three", she will activate the szene three as she kept the context from the prior sentence.
That’s a great way to describe it. Siri was acquired and it’s been rotting ever since.
The Intro 😂
Naw Apple voice wouldn't work, iVoice sounds more Apple
well, early 10s Apple; they haven't made any new iProducts in absolutely forever (I think the last one was iBeacon?)
Apple releases research papers, but they might not always be the latest. Publishing research takes time, and Apple may hold back some of their newest findings to stay ahead of the competition. Apple’s current AI technology may be more advanced than what’s shown in their papers. I hope...
At least Microsoft killed Cortana when they saw how bad it was.
Add to reminder « read notifications » “Previous song “ “Next song” Its just annoying to remember all of them yes
Why not just build on something like llama 3?
oh cool, a new theo video dropped
Siri was better on my 4s than it is on my 13 PM.
You set off my my Siri smh
you can assume that Dall-E 4 is going to be the best when it's released. Just look at Sora and you know they've won
make siri great again
I just hope it’s not gonna be 2025 where Siri becomes usable again. I’d honestly say Siri not only has not improved but actively got worse over time. I can remember asking it questions and getting actually useful answers (even if just reading from wikipedia...) I can remember it not starting random music when I ask something entirely unrelated I can remember it actually stopping the music when I asked it to Honestly no clue how they not only did not manage to improve it but SOMEHOW made it actively worse.
I have to disagree with your lack of confidence or flair for Dalle. It's pretty dang incredible, and now has inpainting. Midjourney definitely has more hyperrealistic stuff that is more cinematic, but Dalle still beats MJ in prompt accuracy, and I wouldn't say it's art generation is a slouch. It's still number one is specific areas. Besides that, I can't wait for Siri to get smart. I heard more than rumor in recent AI content that Apple was in fact planning on adding LLM capabilities to their next model. It seems like this vid is saying it's only speculation?
AI is a keyword for any publicly owned company so yes apple will say AI about fifty times in their event
They already have
so basically it was a good thing to know that Apple didn't keep and sell your datas.... So it's over now ? is that what you are saying ?
I must point out that the user data held by Google and Facebook (i.e., email, documents, posts, images, etc.) are all the copyrighted works of the users. There is a strong likelihood that a class action lawsuit will be forthcoming over the uncompensated use of user data.
or, more cynically, new LLM-enabled APIs for App developers, with alternative AI models sold in App Store, with associated fees to everyone.
Company I’ve been applying to and wanted to join was recently purchased by apple. RIP DarwinAI. Long live Apple AI
How is it secret if you're making videos about it?
Does it really make sense with OpenAI? MS owns 49% of the company and is entitled to up to 75% of its profits.
i just want siri to be able to explain things to me and answer my questions like chat gpt can, and much better voice typing on iPhone instead of the stone age crap we have now.
I find it odd that Apple would use open ai b/c Elon is sueing them since they got acquired by Microsoft
None of these things are true lol
Apple not spying on its users 2:55 is actually how it should be!
If apple will have agi first, we r truly doomed
AI? stocks rise
This dude has a toxic relationship with apple
AGREED
As much as you want, the AI that Apple is going to use is Google's AI, and the Apple sheeps are going to admit how great the technology is in Android
first :o
Meta and Google don't train their models on user data
I was about to say this
The other day Instagram (aka meta) popped up a message that my search results could be used to do training. Also I simply don’t believe Google if they claimed otherwise.
Software, and especially web developers have a holy and sacred rule - Zero trust. I will not, ever, in my entire life trust what a company is saying, especially the size of Google and Met-eghm-Facebook unless I can verify their claims myself. Lies are bread and butter for these companies. Even if they get sued for them. It's just "cost of doing business". Also on the side note. Please... Don't call Facebook "Meta". There already was a company called MetaX that was doing pretty well until Facebook decided to rebrand, infringe on their trademark, steal every bit of their SEO and effectively kill them - Just so you know how selfish big tech is. If they do this to other companies, they will do it to everyone.
@thomassynths Does it truly matter if they do or if they don't.
