I'll bet if they just took one bite of the grape, they'd love it - especially in late July / August. Actually, the little one came close to biting it. I wonder if the soft/squishiness of it reminded them of a rotten walnut? -- I do believe the chipmunk has wings. Can't see 'em, but he sure took flight!
Nice video as usual Mel G. Squirrels will always want nuts over fruit, so in this instance when they smell nuts on your fingers and hands, I don't think they would choose a grape. I have only had our squirrels take grapes a few times and it was in the heat of summers. I do have squirrels that love avocados. Looking forward to putting out some for them on Cinco de Mayo!
