Magomedov thought he could take Strickland out in the beginning of the fight. Going full tilt and blowing his gas tank by the first minute of the 2nd, but Strickland blocked and absorbed all Magomedov had. Strickland is smart and just picked him apart. This was a clinic.

@Pumpkingilmour4 ай бұрын
While I do agree the call was a few seconds late, you're always going to piss someone off. I couldnt even tell you the amount of times I've seen the losing fighter freak out at the ref for stopping it too early, and when you give them another few seconds to regain a chance to defend themselves then you're called malicious. It looked bad from the angle they showed but when Magomedov was on the ground at the end he was still intelligently defending his face with his arms and hands, he just couldn't get out of the position. I think most fighters would prefer that to the ref who makes early calls, better to take a few extra punches than to have their career potentially permanently altered and their earning potential dimished by a loss from an early call

Reminds me of something Chael Sonnen said once. He said one of the biggest fears of a fighter is running out of gas. This is the perfect example of why that would be. Some fighters get into such phenominal shape that they out last their opponents. I think Sean is in plenty good shape, but the big trick is he gets in your face, then gets you to expend too much effort getting him away, and then he gets you. Now if you can put his lights out before that, which is clearly possible, then you are good, but it ain't easy.

Terrible cardio and decides to Gas out in the first round with heavy kicks, definitely underestimated Sean
That stoppage was late. Jeez, he hit him about nine times too many as far as I was cincerned. Good win Sean.
After collapsing, turning to his side and making no attempt at defending himself…he was making those clear body language statements to the ref that he’s done but ref was having none of it lol
Payback for the eye poke. Life's a bitch.
Accidental u can see he was defensively putting his hand Strickland threw his his head forward to pUnch @@Qthekat1984
Agree on late stoppage. It was hard to believe that the ref did not see that the fight was over with that knockdown. Malicious.
Nothing ruins a fight like a deliberate eye gouge.
The punishment needs to be immediate disqualification for these deliberate actions.
Sean is rough, and precise in his odd striking and Philly ninja shell. He also easily got up after Mago tried to take his back. He manages movement and his cardio well. Doesn’t take much damage either, he lessens and absorbs strikes with his foot/ hand work. He’s really evolved as a human and a fighter. Still more work to do. I’m proud of him.
Sean has great balance and doesbt throw shots that pull him
no he doesnt
Как же меня Стрикленд удивляет последнее время, только респект 🎉
I was a fan of strickland before his motorcycle crash and watched his fights from time to time wondering if he would ever recover enough to fight again, now he is the champ, crazy.
He is actually the most boring fight in ufc right now bro

That poke in the eye was not accidental. Great win Sean

Yes it was accidental. Just a normal reaction. Happens so many times during training too.
Стрикленд стратег и молодчик!!! 💪💪💪🤙
Sean Strickland is good because of the hard life he led, all those years of fighting before he went professional! Instinct is a skill you have or you don’t and he has it

I have an immense amount of respect for Sean, not just in his ability to fight but in what he's overcome. Dude is a good guy who has been to hell & back & came back better on the other side, good for him, D'Sean World Champ!
What an amazing performance by Mr. Strickland! He took Magam....'s early kicks and punches, studied him and then came in for the win. Smart...very smart.
Strickland always takes his time and stays composed no matter what his opponent throws at him. And that accuracy, my man's on point. The static target thing is something that won't last in the long run though. Eventually that will catch up with him unfortunately. Love this guy and what he brings.
the way Sean walks him down in the second is so cold
Strickland - tremendous defense followed by non-stop attack.
Sean Strickland is very accurate and precise with his shots, also luv his usage of the jab which was a key component in his fight against style bender.
Luv?
Магомедов молодчина, терпения, спокойствия всё в меру своих сил 💪👌

When I first watched this fight, I thought for sure it would be the last time anyone hears about Sean Strickland. Easy work for Abus. But with this fight and every one since then he has surprised me and the world. Good job Sean.
@@fjalicsespecially now that he learned to respect power and speed, like against poatan. Now that he’s learned that, he may be unstoppable, roughly speaking. Also, nothing saps one’s energy like missing after throwing some steam. It’s like immediate, the energy loss lol sucks so bad

Love this guy so much strikeland
abus has a killer teep, for a minute anyhow
Yea, they're brutal, but he can only throw about 5 of them before he's exhausted.
How can a professional fighter be so badly conditioned like Magomedov?? Fading after one round already is an absolute disgrace.
Ever heard of bad cutting/dehydration? That's what happened.
His output in the first round was ridiculous he didn't pace himself at all
He cut so much I thought he was a dj 😂😂😂
the amount of pressure strickland put on him in the second round was nuts, and magomedov did burn a lot of gas in the first round.
Id say genuine fear man. The guys bouncin like a spring chicken and had immense skill. Yet sean strickland blocked all his hits like hes the arkham night 😂 that perspective of him cancelling all his hits like hes button spamming block, surely did a toll on his breath work
This fight looked like one of stricklands sparring sessions. Played with his food and dismantled magomedov

@@ThePhilosophicalOne I laughed at the sight of a man's spirit being broke. Mog lost that fight early in round 2. Strickland really didn't offer much in round 1. Mog tired himself out and Strickland landed a few decent shots. (mog was done) I believe that he continued fighting as long as he did because he's a fighter, it's what he knows and what he does. But mentally, he cashed out early in the second. He just didn't know it yet. I've seen this change in men before. Good times

Magonedove finished everything he has in the first around
Strickland used only one tool in the tool box of a well rounded fighter. He simply boxed. Can you imagine if he decided use other weapons in tandem? Mago, gassed himself out. Sean saw it coming and just waited.
Sean is so calm. He’s out here doing side quests basically only boxing this whole fight.
