This is all shot with the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 to show what it can do when used in Full Auto. Everything except the intro was filmed in standard color, 4K/24, auto exposure.
The Pocket 3 is still backordered, you may be able to find it at Amazon with this link: amzn.to/49IqYUu
The Creator Combo: amzn.to/49LOa4p
The Wireless Mic 2 transmitter is available separately: amzn.to/43hOzcb
The Osprey backpack I am using: amzn.to/3TcoDu2

I published a review video of the Pocket 3 - you can find it here: • Took the DJI Osmo Pock...
That video included snippets of footage from this same trip. I have been asked many times to publish more of the footage, so you can see the Pocket 3 in different weather and lighting conditions. That footage is the purpose of this video.
I enjoy using the Pocket 3 more each day I use it, and increasingly rely on it for B-roll and travel videos. The DJs Wireless Mic 2 is a gem of a mic and easy to use with the Pocket 3. You can also use it as an audio recorder and sync the sound up to video from any camera source in post.

...Daughter pointed out that the title is '20 minutes of Osmo Pocket 3' when the run time is closer to 30 minutes :-)

  • I have intentionally included a lot of footage to allow a clear comparison of how the Pocket 3 performs in different environments. I have avoided jump cuts and edits as much as possible, other than for flow, to demonstrate what can be done by just pressing record. The Osmo Pocket 3 is an outstanding camera, particularly when combined with the Wireless Mic 2 and the other components of the Creator Combo kit. Both the standalone OP3 and the Creator Combo kt are backordered at all major US outlets currently, which has been the case since launch. I expect that DJI have been positively surprised by the early success of this camera.

  • I absolutely love my Pocket 3! I use it almost exclusively to film the content of my KZhead channel (Digital Victory) and it looks fantastic. I USED to use the Pocket 1, and the difference with the Pocket 3 is HUGE! It looks great!

  • I am a DJI junkie - Air 2S Drone, pocket, pocket 2, pocket 3, Action 3, and Action 4. I have eliminated the earlier pocket cameras from use, but use the rest of the cameras. I have a couple of great granddaughters who are 3 and 4 years old, and I let them film with the 2 action cameras without worrying about them. Also, both action cameras are great in my daughter's swimming pool. The Pocket 3 is my go to camera for being out and about, as its footage is great. I do film in 4K-60, instead of 4K-24, but after watching your footage have decided to play around with the slower frame rates. Also, I have the Nikon Z8, which blows nearly all other cameras away with its full frame 45.7 mp sensor. As it has eye tracking for people, animals, birds, and airplanes, it is really a fun toy for photography when pin point focusing counts! And then, there is the Insta 360 X3 for those one of a kind shots. Keep posting - we all have a lot to learn, and you are doing a great job in opening my eyes for new ideas...

    • I stick with 4K/24 unless I know I am slowing something down, which I do rarely. Thats a great list of cameras you have there, I share your admiration for DJI although I have reduced my drone kit to one only - Mini 3 Pro. I am not a Nikon shooter but I have a lot of respect for their cameras. Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked the video.

    • @@ThisIsJulianC - I became a Nikon shooter in about 1964, while in high school. I worked at a camera store and got a deal on the Nikon flagship at the time, the Nikon F. I still have that camera, and several more of the later models. Since lenses are so expensive, it is always prudent to stick with a brand once you begin expanding the lens assortment. As I have 2 expensive F2.8 Nikon zoom lenses that fit the Z8, I could not go in any other direction in my latest purchase.

  • I have the Pocket 2 and hardly used it. I had grand plans for it, but it was too much effort for what I perceived I would get out of it. I too, am camera shy. I have the opportunity to travel now, and I would like to vlog. I see this as some sort of personal growth. I’m planning to take my Pocket 3 on a couple Camino’s this summer. We will see how it goes. Thank you for the videos.

  • IMO, this is the best solution for quick run & gun easy to use video for content creators & daily vlogs. It doesn't get in the way and its unobtrusive. Places where you might get frowned upon with even a small mirrorless will allow a Pocket 3 (I have a small cage action cam type mount with an ARCA plate attached. I can quickly attach to a small tripod or even my backpack strap mount).

  • I have this camera, but I am still in the test footage stage. I like your videos, and especially this one. It is the best kind of "review" because, as you said, it's how most people will use their P3. However, I take issue with the 4K/24. Your video looks very jerky on the pan shots. I don't know if that is a KZhead thing or not, but it is something I just don't like to see in videos. That is why I shoot in 4K/60. I also own a GoPro11 that I have hacked to output 200 Mbps, and the picture quality is fantastic. In good light I think it is much better than the P3. And the pan shots are silky smooth with no jerkiness at all. I also find it easier to use because you are not constantly waiting for the gimbal to catch up to your movements as in a pan shot. So, I am torn between the two cameras. As you said, both are good for different things. To illustrate what I mean about a non-jerky video, here is one I shot on my GoPro11 at 4K/60: kzhead.info/sun/ja-CY5WNsHObdqc/bejne.htmlsi=149NrpMndw5mzy9T

    • Thanks. I took a look at your New Years Day video. That has a smoother look to it which I agree is mostly the frame rate (great video btw). I run with GoPros a lot and when I use 4K/60 (intending to slow it down) I get that smoother look too.

  • @24:18 In regards to your wind test, there is an additional audio setting called sound isolation (Or audio isolation setting ?) You should set your Mic audio back to Normal, then turn on audio isolation, and see what effect that has on a windy setting ? I have seen and heard a few examples of people on line here trying audio isolation setting out and getting super impressive results.

    @markjob6354@markjob63542 ай бұрын
    • I'll try that. The wind that day was pretty strong I was amazed I could be heard at all. In normal situations I would absolutely not use that audio track because of the wind, but for this video it served a purpose.

    • Not in this video. I now use -0.3 EV as standard on my Pocket 3, but still full auto exposure.

  • The jitter when panning with this camera can feel dizzying. I put mine to record 4k60 and it still has that panning issue which I do not like.

    @KoiAquaponics@KoiAquaponics2 ай бұрын
    • Shutter speed will also have an impact in addition to frame rate. I shot these clips on auto exposure which will mean the shutter speed almost certainly would have been higher than I would have set it at if I was shooting manual. Slower shutter = more motion blur = less 'jitter' in a moving subject or pan.

    @AtlasCinematography@AtlasCinematography2 ай бұрын
    • Not so far no. I am recording in 4K/24 fps. I do not get overheating issues with GoPro's either, perhaps because of my preferred frame rate.
