    • The only thing that's changed is how much more confident you come across in this video as compared to the last one about the k2. The fact of the matter is if you want a board that checks all the boxes budget, rgb, wireless, hot swappable. I dont think there are many options out there, the keyboards you review on this are missing atleast one of those features so no the k2 is still the go to board for all the features at a cheap price..

    • You're saying it like it's a bad thing that she tried to clean it with running water. Probably would've worked if you cleaned and dried it properly and didn't plug it in for another day or two.

      @RCmies@RCmies3 жыл бұрын
    • @@RCmies Tried that. Didn't work. I put it in a drying box for a month after removing the keycaps and drying all the water I could reach. The motherboard itself was floating in the water. when she gave it to me? All she did after rinsing it was set it on the counter where it sat for two days till I got home from an off-site meeting. I can confirm the switches are working but they are soldered to the motherboard. I can trace power to the first chip but no voltage over the chip. I can't replace the chip since I lack the required equipment. I can replace the entire keeb for $69 so it's not worth spending hours de-soldering and testing the mainboard. then replacing chips and capacitors that have been shorted out. All its good for now is parts unless I get a replacement motherboard. Then I have to de-solder and resolder the switches.

However, I do appreciate what you said at the end about not blaming yourself if you got a K2 before. For me, the K2 V2 just feels nice, which is all I needed after years of hurting my fingers on laptop keys. And I'll stick to it until the day it gives out. • I just ordered the K2v2 hotswap. It's pretty much the only affordable prebuilt 75% option that has an ISO option, therefore it is still by default the best option. May end up giving it the typical silicone case filling, switch lubing, stab swap treatment, may not. Was planning on going a bit more premium for my next keyboard, but my current one is rapidly deteriorating and i'm in acute need of a new one so i went the easy route and ordered the K2.

    • My exact issue as well. I've been heavily considering buying the KC84s and just learn the ANSI layout, however, I don't want to be forced to do that just to get a slightly better keyboard. I seriously don't understand how most keyboard manufacturers dont offer both ANSI and ISO layouts now that they often offer both 60%, 65%, TKL and so on. • Based on sound, I like #4 for the space bar stabs, and #1 for the rest of the keys I would want to mod all of the options though: Neoprene, thicker keycaps, lubed+filmed switches, and clipped+greased stabs. With more and more companies offering pre lubed switches, and even pre modded stabs, I can image we will have some entry keyboards in the future that dont require any mods to out of the box.

  • I’m by no means a keyboard enthusiast, however, I’m a programmer, so having a good keyboard is a must for me. I love mine so much that I’ve been recommending the K2 to anyone looking for a nice keyboard. I love its wireless connection and the general typing experience. Sound? I’ve heard the “sound tests” made by some reviewers, but honestly I don’t see myself choosing one keyboard (or switches) over the others just by how they sound. The K2 for me sounds... great... I guess... SW seems to be a good option to have, but for some general customizations I’m using autohotkey; it works great! My point is, this keyboard is awesome for those just looking for a great typing experience (without being nit-picky) and nothing more.

  • I've been using the K6 daily for a few months and my only complaint is that they decided it should have a dedicated backlight button but no delete key. I can only hope they someday release software to remap it. Other than that (and some chipped keycaps from carrying it around without a case) I've been happy with it.

    @drewzero1@drewzero13 жыл бұрын
    • You can remap keys in regedit. This means every keyboard you’d connect to that windows will have that key remapped, because you changed it in windows itself. Maybe this helps you if you use one system.

      @Ken_Jones@Ken_Jones Жыл бұрын
    • @@Ken_Jones As far as I can tell, the backlight key is not passed through to the computer. So no way to remap that specific key in software. Still using the keyboard almost daily. I've long since given up any hope of the promised software since it sounds like they're focusing on QMK with *some* of their newer boards and basically abandoning the rest. I mean I already have 3 mechanical kb's but they're from these bigger gaming manufacturers and I'm just not really feeling satisfied with their products. I feel that there is something missing, there has to be better stuff out there. So I'm doing my research but yeah it's a daunting world to get into lol. It was a lot easier to find better mice (ie. not Razer) but the KB world is a whole different animal. And like you said things are changing so fast, I feel like I just sat down in a roller coaster and things are going to get wild. But I want to be part of this ride so here I am. Let's go lol

    • @@SwitchandClickOfficial Quick question, I saw in another one of your videos that you used to play the MOBA Heroes of the Storm. I play an RTS called Age of Empires 2 and in terms of mechanics it's similar to a MOBA. I was just wondering what kind of keyboard do you recommend for MOBA/RTS type games? Personally what I'm looking for is a quiet linear keyboard that actuates very fast. Currently I have a low profile KB from Havit and while it's great, I just feel it is a bit too firm. The shorter key-travel is good but because the keys are firm it doesn't feel as fast as it could be. Also it has blue switches and the clicky-ness doesn't really add anything to the experience, if anything it's distracting. PS: I love your mouse, the MM710/711 is amazing. Mine stopped working so I got the MM720 which is even lighter but has a form factor that takes some getting used to.

  • Keycool has actually been selling this form factor for years, and it was my favorite layout until the epomaker 71 (yeah im weird). I bought my first keycool 84 probably 8? years ago and fell in love with the layout. I am glad to finally see this becoming popular as in my opinion its just clearly better than TKL and generally more practical for a very small increase in size over 60%.

    @TheDacane@TheDacane3 жыл бұрын
    • Why do you think it's clearly better than TKL? I'm checking my options, and TKL is only a little bigger, and is less cramped than 75%. Kinda seems like the best balance of compact size and usefulness to me.

      @R1SKbreaker@R1SKbreaker Жыл бұрын
    • @@R1SKbreaker Two places really, it takes up much less space on the desk than a TKL, and the FX keys are easier and more convenient to reach. Something like this or smaller helps my ergos a lot by letting me keep my keyboard relatively centered when typing, while still leaving plenty of space for my mouse, large mouse pad etc. With full sized and even bloated tkls i end up reaching my right arm across my body to type, or having a long reach for my mouse. Im not sure why people call any efficient layout cramped. The original netbooks had cramped keyboards, other mini things with undersized keyboards can be cramped. The key spacing on the keys you actually use is the same on an efficient layout as a 104 or tkl, there just isnt all the dead space, and sometimes >1u keys are shrunk down, although never below 1u. Layout wise I honestly think 96 is probably the new sweet spot for most people, it has most of the gains from compact layouts without any real downside. Im glad to see it actually becoming more common.
