Was there & can remember fans from Yorkshire cheering on hearing that Jan O Pedersen was out with a break ..charming

Just discovered this Channel, as a follower of Poole Pirates and Weymouth Wildcats during late 70s/early 80s as a very young child right through to following SGP in the current era plenty to evoke happy memories. Keep em coming!

We had a brilliant 2 week trip to see this and moto x de nations in geldorf drove over and had to use 8 different currencys those were the days when freedom was a bit more important than it is now.

Dear me what an awful circuit ,basically riding around a running track . Even giving riss and maier a couple of weeks practise on it didnt have the hopeful at best outcome as it had for egon muller who had the same preferentail treatment 6 years previous .Nielsen was a worthy winner here

With regards to the commentary on the first race, it couldn't have been more rubbish, lol. Does this guy have his eyes painted on?

Average line up; dreadful track for a final and utterly processional racing as a result. Hans Nielsen was the best in World and a deserving winner though.

Well - the line-up were the best riders in the World at that time - but yeah, not every year can have the greatest legends in the final - but you got Hans Nielsen and Erik Gundersen. Not their fault the competition was only at the half of their own skill level that year. You are right about the track - pure procession...

One of the worst line-ups in World Final history, probably second only to 1949.
