No, she isn't underrated because she was a huge pop idol in her generation (early 00's). But then, she decided to take a brake and make a family. When she came back, a lot of new singers like...yes, the Taylors, the Katys and Mileys took her place. Now Dido's albums are just a bunch of masterpieces on nostalgia trips. No song has ever hit me like this one has. Even before I ever experienced how powerful love is, this song made me feel the pain of a breakup in the same way I'm experiencing it today. The lyrics encapsulate the internal struggle perfectly. Dido is a brilliant artist.
This is the song that taught me it's okay to stay in love with someone even when you've moved on from them. It might be the most valuable lesson I've learned in my entire life. Call me a stupid sap, but I don't stop loving just because a relationship has ended. And I don't want to pretend otherwise. This song made that feeling okay. What a selfless song. From the video, it looks like he’s still just as in love with her as she is, or at least wishes her well. Who knows? But at the end of the day, it is true that in some cases like this, two people who do deeply love each other shouldn’t be together for their own sakes. It may not have been infidelity or something terrible that tore them apart, but whatever it was can’t be forgotten and may not be able to be mended. Or they just weren’t a good match. So she pretends to move on despite how much she loves him and is very graceful about it to keep them both from getting hurt further. Love this.

This song so says what most of us are burdened with. A lot of us have someone we love and lost that we really never really got over with. Someone we carry in our hearts till the day we die.
The only girl I ever loved was so long ago. She was 16 and I was 22. She was beautiful and when our eyes met it was met to be. After almost 50 years she is coming back to me. i wait for her. She is in Texas and I'm in Arizona. She has told me that i was the only man she ever really loved. i pray the Lord brings us back together. Together until one of us dies.

After sharing multiple glances, we first spoke and there was immediate chemistry and she wanted more and was waiting for me to reciprocate. Sad part is, I couldn’t make a move yet for circumstantial reasons but she didn’t realize why and it hurt her. She’s been mad at me ever since and I hope that one day I can tell her how I feel before it’s too late.
