  • Hope you guys enjoy this video! I've been working on it for a few weeks getting tons of information from players. If I missed some events or got something wrong, I'll leave them in this comment. ADDITIONS: - March 25th, 2023: Space Valkyria 4 was griefed by Joey_Coconut and smcz19. - Forgot to include Space Jam base in 2017. Jack and a lot of old players based here for a little. 1.) prnt.sc/2rVNGpDMndkt 2.) prnt.sc/VWHSU5LAKnb1 - Trump_17 has a great video about Jacktherippa's history on the server. Forgot to mention him in the credits, but his video helped a lot! kzhead.info/sun/nLFyhr6efp6hmpE/bejne.html - Forgot to credit IronException for his epic renders. You can check them out here: www.reddit.com/user/IronException/ (I think I have memory loss at this point) - Terbin helped gather world downloads and renders for each End island. You can check them out on The Archive! The IP is thearchive.world CORRECTIONS: N/A

    • In some way, 2b2t imitates the cycle of life. Nothing lasts forever. Eventually, the only thing remaining of whatever someone builds there will be the tales and documentation about it, passing it into a state of "long gone legends". By being so very much alive - including both life and eventual death of everything - 2b2t never becomes boring for many players. Everyone who participates in this, knows this beforehand. 2b2t is a reflection - if not the sheer embodiment - of life, society and human nature. It is a philosophical journey about the transience of beauty. To be a part of that journey is the appeal, even tho many players only discover that during said journey.

My friends have noticed I don't build anything more than a tiny shack rather than my usual manor houses when we're on a multiplayer, my shacks have been absolutely destroyed so many times that there's really no point to doing anything better, can't even leave coal in a chest without it being stolen and my build burned to the ground for the thief being so disappointed I "didn't have anything worth stealing".

    • People destroy these monuments for one of three reasons. 1. To see the joy fade from those who spent so long building it. 2. To prove they are superior by acting as a filter, destroying anything they deem "not worthy" to them. 3. Egomania. If they can't own it, nobody should. That's the 3 most common answers that I got from my interviews. Well, actual answers anyway. Most others were several waves of racial slurs.

  • I used to play 2b2t and its worth to have a story of its own. The entire server is like a desolate wasteland filled with bandits who want to kill and rob you. Withers are around every corner, and you often see people stuck in nether portals while on the ancient highways. Its terrifying, knowing if youre spotted, youll be trapped just like those poor souls. I traveled for 3 days straight in the nether just to get far away enough to find a single tree and a small destroyed patch of watermelon. The trick for me that helped me survive was to get far away, dig deep under an ocean, and build small and dont hold onto much. Have a few close items in the inventory and store nothing, not even in a chest. The base is my safe space, but if I ever log in and find Ive been compromised, I can just run and have everything I need on hand. Nothing lasts forever on 2b2t, and there is no such thing as "home".

  • Ah, The end. One of the few places the Clown doesn't really deem worthy to go to, and one of the relatively safer places to build as long as you get as far away from spawn as you possibly can.

  • You say that "They placed the end portal frame and they didn't work" the reason behind it was simple. While visually the end portal frame at the time didn't seem to have it they had a rotation property similar to pistons and stairs. They most likely built it with the frames 'facing' the same wrong direction and when lighting it it didn't work, while the portal frame back then and even now requires all of them to be facing inward for it to light a single frame block would cause it to fail. So the person recreating the end room and lighting either place the frames in the correct orientation most likely got it by pure happenstance by actually placing the frame blocks correctly. It doesn't help that this issue was not documented at all. and the texture back then was very subtle with it being rotated 90 degrees. The only way to tell was by the eye in the frame itself to judge the orientation. It's was only more noticeable after the texture update due the frame's top side not being 4 direction symmetrical.

  • hey man, it's nice to see another great vid; you always produce great stuff! I remember when hause reenabled End Portals and you could right click the frame block to make the lit portal global sound; me and this other dude went to a portal and spammed that sound for like an hour lmao. I didn't spend long in the End myself, and left after making my own goofy little monument along some highway that's probably blown by now. Still though, seeing 2b2t's End brings back memories for me. How time flies. I'm happy to see you are strong as ever, still making good 2b2t content. Keep up the good work man.

  • Correction: - 2b2t's world was actually started in February 2011, making it only 9 months before the end was added - To clarify, in order for a portal to work you just need to make all the frames face the correct way - The portals shown at 13:07 do not exist anymore
