Toyota GT4586: a CRAZY 570hp/9000rpm Ferrari V8-powered GT86 & Sequential Gearbox!

In 2016, when Formula D drifter Ryan Tuerck showed the world his crazy Ferrari V8-powered Toyota GT86 project, I was quite excited and hopeful to see it in person one day. And that day has finally arrived.
The little Japanese car is now fitted with a pretty stock Ferrari V8 engine coming from a 458 Italia (that's why it's called "GT4586"), a 4.5-liter N/A engine that is able to produce 570hp and rev up to 9,000 rpm, and a Fortin Racing’s 5-speed sequential gearbox has been added. Pretty cool to see the work behind those headers and exhaust.

    • You need to do a LOT more to the car if you put a V8 in it, if you want to keep the amazing balance it has out of the box. Like these guys did.

  • Can't quite place it but it doesn't really sound like a Ferrari engine anymore maybe more like a GT350 now with a few more revs? Not complaining at all, really awesome sound! I Was hoping you'd do a spot on this, thanks for the awesome content as always Bozzy!

    • I think it's due to the exhaust design. The exhaust pipes can alter the sound which can be quite noticeable to people who are familiar with the way it should sound "normally". I might be off (someone correct me if I am wrong), but one example is Subaru WRX's. When you have unequal length headers, it gives it a more deep pronounced rumble. Using equal length headers, the rumble is nearly eliminated.
