Elaine Zhao she's definitely not underrated, she chose her career path and she's happy with it. Even in her PCD songs and her solo pop songs she still uses her pipes. But choosing the path that sold the easiest (sexy pop) she opened up opportunities for herself to do things like this. She is more than pleased with what she's done in her life :)

I get what you mean, but on the other hand I get what Amy meant. It's like, so many people think that she's a two-bit pop singer, when really she has such a stunning voice and can perform with such beauty and emotion. Yeah, sure, she's probably happy, but it's a shame so many people don't know her true talent.

The fact that she even pronounces the subtle “th” in “Argentina” as a native Argentine speaker would just shows her attention to flawless diction.

I am a native Argentine.. and we do not pronounce the "T" as an engligh "TH" sound.. so I am not sure why she is pronouncing it that way. The T in Argentina is a strong clear crist T sound. Nevertheless, I love her voice and her interpretation of the song.

+Carlos pires Listen to what original? Madonna? ha ha ha! As a vocal instructor with 20+ years of experience and having had students perform this song numerous times over the years, I challenge you to show me exactly where Nicole adds ornaments. And even if she did--This is HER interpretation not yours or how you think it should be interpreted! This isn't a classical aria where the emphasis is put upon singing it technically note for note. This is musical theatre, where its all about the actors' interpretation and their perception of the character. I'm not a Nicole fan, I was honestly looking for a good version to send to a student who is thinking of performing this song for an audition. I had listened to Patti LuPone, Elaine Paige, and Donna Summer sing it. I accidentally clicked on Nicole's version and it caught my attention immediately because of the emotion in her voice in the beginning. I had no idea she had this much talent.

So captivating, my goodness and her tone is absolutely stellar. She uses her voice to shape the dynamic of her sound, and serenades the lyrics with delicate Latin pronunciation. Sad where there are a lot of women in the music industry who can barely sing but sell millions instead, people like Nichole who are immensely talented are lurking in the shadows and only people who really understand music recognizes talents like her.

She delivers what all the usual gamut of opera singers fail to do, she puts the emotion of a woman pleading into her voice. What makes this performance outstanding are the harder edges, the throatiness when it's called for, and the softness of penance. All those things we would expect to hear from a woman pleading in front of humanity. Truly one of the best performances of this I've ever heard. She didn't sing it, she lived it.

This is musical theater, not opera. Opera singers don’t sing this. Take a quick KZhead search and you get Pati lupone, lea solanga, Madonna etc. definitely not opera singers. Opera style and technique are very different from musical theater style and technique and should not be compared. Opera singers don’t use microphones to enhance their voice so, singing as this lovely lady did so masterfully is out of the question. They have to sing in a way that allows them to be heard over an orchestra on every note in their range. So your not going to get that grittiness and naturalness that can come from a musical theater sound. However, Nicole was trained classically which shows in the warmth and even support of her voice. No nasality and harshness that you hear so much now. She sang this splendidly. Bravo Nicole.

CassieJazz96 when I heard her at Pussy Cat Dolls, I thought this girl could sing! Then they gave them those crappy songs which could not show the full range of her talent. Finally, I'm happy to hear her this way!

Andrew Booth WHAT are you smoking? Most singers have to go through extensive training to attain the level of skill she exhibits. I assume you meant to say probably.
Actually I wasn't referring to her level of ability in her singing. Im talking about how although she can perform really well in this style, she properly don't feel natural to her or like singing in this particular style
+Carlos pires Ah the man himself picked her and loved her rendition not the first time she sang for him
+Carlos pires Listen to what original? Madonna?
What an unbelievable performance. Sincere without overacting. Emotional without too much talk singing. She just sounded beautiful but chose the very moments to punch it, and crushed it when she did.
The ”one and only” version of this song, outstanding voice from God! You’re the best of all time Nicole! ❤
I recommend the version from André Rieu and Suzan Arens. But this one here is also very beautiful
So captivating, my goodness and her tone is absolutely stellar. She uses her voice to shape the dynamic of her sound, and serenades the lyrics with delicate Latin pronunciation. I also find it alluring how she floats her arms with gentle port de bras, almost as if she is emanating the spirit of Eva Peron. Would love to see her cultivate a career in Broadway because this performance exhibits the radiant talent she truly possesses.

About 10 or so years ago I saw an interview of hers where she revealed she originally wanted to be an opera singer but those gigs were hard to come by and she needed a job really bad so she auditioned to be in a girl group. Now that she’s famous, I’m glad she’s finally able to showcase her opera skills. She is amazing.
Excellent. Wish this Lady all the best. Thank you for this video.
The best The most beautiful The strongest clearest voice Absolutely breath taking performance
I have probably watched this performance more than 50 times since I first discovered it about a year and a half ago. It's more flawless every time I watch it. It deserves the same norotiety that Lady Gaga's The Sound of Music performance garnered.
Me too
Me tooo
yeah they are both underated
Ethentent couldn't agree more!!!!
Too bad she didnt do alot of singing in moana
She nailed it!!! The best "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina" that I've ever heard.
this is very good but have tried listening to Leah Salonga's version of this? It's equally mind-blowing
Watch Paloma San Basilio from Spain, incredible!😎✅🎉
莫須 I still prefer Sarah brightman
@@lostgaijin8640 Lea's got one of the most beautiful voices, ever, but I found her performance of this underwhelming, as though a Disney princess were performing it. When I listen to Nicole, I hear all the emotion of the song. It's as if she's fully bringing it to life.
Oh dear, you really need to hear Julie Covington's original recording form 1977.
I’ve never seen anyone truly perform and embody songs the way she does. I watch her performances over and over cause they’re just magic
The world is just not ready for her. Love you Nicole.
she could be a Disney Princess :)
A Latina one right?
Jino Espera Burgos but she’s not Latina
@@rhomeNmpire I knew that. She's a German / Filipino. A Filipino inspired Disney princess is highly unlikely. 😂
@@rhomeNmpire P.S. - I'm Filipino, BTW.
Jino Espera Burgos Ok, then she would fit right in with Nea Salonga, she’s both Jasmine, and Mulan’s singing voice, the ultimate Disney princess and Filipina as well
One of the very underrated female singers of all time. Sad where there are a lot of women in the music industry who can barely sing but sell millions instead, people like Nichole who are immensely talented are lurking in the shadows and only people who really understand music recognizes talents like her.
Eh stop putting other women down just to put one up. There are many that can sing, as you've seen the industry is far too competitive, you can't just be a "good singer" and pretty. She's extremely gorgeous and she's famous because she's been in the industry over 10 years and of course she's gorgeous. That's how she got picked to have the opportunity to perform this
messed up ego unfortunately it ruined her career, she refused to sing with mickael jackson
I agree 100%!!
@@FC-hj9ub telling the truth puts no one down...you obviously are very immature...the reality is...you only succeed if you can sell to the teens...mostly the girl teens....of course this song will attract adults...GET IT TINY?
She is a REAL SINGER!💐👏🔥 I never really liked this song... till this moment when I heared this. She gave this song GREATNESS.
One of the best versions I've heard. I don't know why she isn't out there more inspiring people with her voice.
She blows Madonna out of the water, no question. Unbelievable talent.
I agree!
No you can't blow out the author loll ... she is brilliant fantastic extraordinary...but madonna remain the maestro
@@pascaljean1986Madonna isn’t the creator of this song though. And her version can’t hold a candle to this.
@@denisebetegh7659Madonna‘s version isn’t a single performance out of context, it’s a performance for a movie. And the way she sang it suited the way she and the movie director decided to portray Evita perfectly. This performance by Nicole here is magnificent but it wouldn’t have worked in the movie. Neither would have Patti LuPone‘s way of performing the song.
I think Madonna did a good job, this version is a little faster than what I've heard before. I like it but she's no Julie Covington.
I love her to bits. but callas also puts more emotion to operas. if h haven't watched any callas, I suggest u do.
Opera and musicals are two different things.
This is absolutely amazing!!!! Stunningly beautiful! With the exact emotion that this necessitates. I’m obsessed.
This woman has a fabulous technique and is very in control of her voice.Beautiful.I Love her smooth movement between vocal styles.
It is shocking how easily you can dismiss someone based on initial impressions. This girl is shocking in every way. Shockingly stunning, shockingly talented and shockingly beautiful.
Howard Skeivys, I totally agree with assessment of this artist, she is great!
Outstanding in every way!!!
If you want an example of perfect, voice, presentation. dress, make up, choreography, just everything, it is a moment, not a song
Perfect description. This performance is stunning.
Darn you hit the nail on the head, thank you and greetings from Buenos Aires!
ohhh God!!!! i’m instantly a fan 😮😮😮
I cried while listening so much emotions 😊
The RANGE on this woman. Far out! She's phenomenal.
What a beautiful voice I love this song nice memories still listening! how're you Renee?
This performance is flawless. FLAWLESS. This will forever be one of my favorite things.
I knew she can sing but omg, what a voice. She's got everything going on for her. All the way from her gorgeous looks, to her voice, to all the rest of her being...bravo Nicole, you're awesome👏👏👏
The best "Don't Cry For Me Argentina"!!!
I just need her to release one album of her singing musicals and I will be content.
Best rendition ever
Can we list songs we need on this album?? I Dreamed a Dream is my nomination.
I co-sign this 100
I loved her phrasing.. 'specially the Latin lisp on Argentina.
A fantastic touch, and a perfect way to embody the story behind the music.
She made the "n" silent
The royal Spanish lisp lol
Argen....thina 😉
She has a Latina blood in her veins, Spanish- by way of being partly Filipina
Will always be one of the most beautiful women on this planet imo
just simply awesome! another Filipino-Am talent.
Wow ..Pop music keeps alot of folks true talent suppressed. ...
wow.... shit the bed. she's got an amazing voice. just saw her doing the Phantom of the Opera which completely amazed me and now I'm on a Nicole Scherzinger mission 😍😍😍😍incredible talent
Kara Harrison omg I'm doing the same exact thing
I´m blown away
Shit the bed 😂😂😂
In Spanish it would be "¡cágate lorito!" Take a shit little parrot!
Two years later I'm doing the same thing
She acts out the song. Amazing. Watched it so many times!!
Words could not express how much I love Nicole Scherzinger ❤
The way she does the "So I choose freedom" line gives me chills every time, every element of it is spot on.
KimmimaruSai A-fkn-men!!!! I held my breath there
4:28 - Her resonance is IMMACULATE!
This is absolute perfection, in every imaginable regard. Phenomenal.
One of the best version i have ever heard of this song. Magnificent performance. Standing ovation. Bravo!!
Dear NBC, ABC or Fox, we need an “Evita Live” and Nicole Scherzinger must play Eva! Thank you!
Oh my gosh yes! That is SUCH a good idea.
Perez Hilton And Family don’t be so stupid, what is needed is a person who has dedicated their life to theatre and the history of Eva peron
please
who do you pick for Che?
Oliver Delica Dulce pontes
Wow...I didn't realize that she could sing so well! She should be on Broadway!!
she is the singer the in the Broadway play CATS
+Crazyjedi2 CATS isn't on Broadway here in NY. It's playing in London only, currently.
I think Attiya means that Nicole is gifted enough to grace any of numerous productions currently on Broadway
A virtuoso performance of the highest calibre. Stunning.
This really is the standard of how this song should be performed. Her diction and breath control are flawless.
I'm looking at her skin and I can see she's not pale. I'm looking at her hair and I can see she's not blonde. But I can't help seeing Eva Perón herself. It only happens when a true talent works its magic.
My thoughts EXACTLY. ALW needs to get busy with an all-new production of "Evita" starring THIS girl! Yep, let's just go ahead and retcon Madonna Evita, lol.
MRG09100 I’m sorry to let you know that Eva Peron is not white she died her hair blonde and she avoided the sunI believe she captured her perfectly as is.
MRG09100 Because she is an authentic Latino
@@stopthelies4249 That's not how it works, genius. Latinos come in all skin colors, because it only refers to a geographical region, not a race. An "authentic latino" can be blonde with blue eyes or black with thick curly black hair. Educate yourself.
Shes half filipino half German, not latino
