  • 😂I used to sell stone knives by the hundred, not sure what the best early goods are to sell. After your harvest you might make porridge and see if that’s viable. Given that you will have a ton of straw you could try to make baskets in the workshop to sell. For the future I would suggest you make fields of 3x9 . You can have many fields but remember, one worker ONLY can do one task on one field, at a time! This means if you have one huge field you will have ONE farmer fertilising, one hoeing and one seeding. If you have two smaller fields twice as many farmers can work simultaneously! In the valley I have 12 farmers and 8 barn workers!

    @NannyOggins@NannyOggins5 ай бұрын
    • Ohhh very helpful. Thank you. I made 2 absolutely massive fields in my first playthrough lol. Kept manually farming myself because I never seen the villagers do much themselves lol. This is probably why!

  • My second time watching your channel. My tips for money making is hunting. Hunt, cook the meat (roast meat nets you 7 coin per piece plus cooking experience - 3 coins for raw meat no bonus xp.) Sell the fur also, keep leather for bags for farming. Fastest way to take down large game. Save up to buy an iron crossbow and copper bolts. Takes 2 or 3 bolts to take down large game, bears, bull moose, stags. 1 to 2 bolts for deer, boar, badger, wolves. This is the fastest way to get coin thus far with the bew updates. Tip two: explore everything. Lots of gear to be used or sold and most abandoned places have coin pouches hidden around. Pay close attention to the window sills. Tip three, Winter is coming and its brutal. It will absolutely wreck you and villagers. I HIGHLY recommend getting cold weather gear, and upgrading the homes. The better the upgrading, the warmer everyone is and use less resources like firewood. Your next few houses make out of stone (its easier to find stone around than logs for a home, and upgrade those homes to daub and or limestone as soon as you can. I cant tell you how many times I died from freezing, and i lost a villager because i wasnt keeping up with the firewood demands fast enough. (I had just over a 100 and thought that was enough for 2 villagers. Its not even close.) Once I upgraded homes 100 was plenty.

    • Thanks for the tips! I started making notes for episode 2 and my first note is "Winter is coming!" So you and I are thinking alike! haha. Ep3 will mostly be my winter preparations I expect!

      @Kysen@Kysen5 ай бұрын
    • Lesson from a past mistake of mine. Plant flax so that you can make thread and then keep the fur. You'll be able to make warmer clothes for the winter so you don't have to carry a torch with you all the time.

  • 4:50 the storage at the well is for empty buckets if you have someone working there and you provide him with buckets directly instead of having someone else making them at the workshop

  • Tip for hunting: If you wound them you can see they are bleeding out with the damage animation, you can start hunting another animal while the first bleeds out. There's some really large groups of Deer this works wonders on. You can just injure each one then focus on skinning as they all bleed out :p Animals don't stray too far from their spawn, and will basically stay in a radius from a center point. You can see it if you chase them away from their spawn, they will circle around the spawn point.

    @Mobscene_CDN@Mobscene_CDN5 ай бұрын
    • Oh OK cool thanks for the tip I will have to try that out! :)

      @Kysen@Kysen5 ай бұрын
  • If the villagers are at their assigned workstation, I've noticed that there's two different animations: one is when they're lounging and that usually means that they don't have the tools or materials that they need in order to perform their work. The other is when it looks like they're actively working (in this case using the cutting plane on a log at the wood station) that is when they're actively collecting logs and sticks or they're cutting them down into planks and firewood.

    @dieseljester3466@dieseljester34664 ай бұрын
  • You can put tools in the resource storage and they will use the tools from there as well so your chests at work stations are clear. Same with food and water in food storage. If you put food and water in food storage you won’t have to put them in the individual houses either. Same with wood for the villagers. They will pull fire wood out automatically. So everything can be automated once food storage and resource storage is set up the workers will put the resources in the storages auto magically and then take them out automatically as well.

  • I like the building timelapses. This is the first time I'm watching anything to do with this game besides a trailer and seeing the building process is good for me to see it and compare to other builders like Valheim. But also, I've discovered new music from your timelapses and other youtuber timelapeses that I would never have been exposed to otherwise and some of my favorite songs/artists have been discovered this way. I can see episodes much much later in the series that could skip them but this early doesnt quite give the same vibe of I'm watching this be played in real time/nearly real time that I'd have expected for a game that I dont think has been out that long. I know I could watch a stream to get the full real time play along, but having the more condensed/timelapse of the action happening vs finding a streamer much further into game...this is more approachable for me. I'll watch either way because I appreciate your content and am curious but thats my 2 cents on to timelapse or not

  • Though hunting is somewhat more of a challenge its defo become much much more rewarding and what I have been doing is selling roast meat and turning leather into bags and making decent $$ with that. I still do the old stone knives but mostly due to it being easy and something I can do on the walk to town and yeah not much coin in it but every bit helps. Not sure if you know but when selecting a resource from your inventory it will tell you where it should ideally be stored and for example if you are in the resource shed and looking at say planks it will also be in green and any food with show in red 'food storage' hope that makes sense. Also you actually dont need to put worker tools like axes into the work stations chest, just put them into the resource storage and they'll get them from there. Great episode!

I mostly hunt big game (Moose, Wisent, Bear) being that leather sells (not valued) for 4 coins and meat sells for two. Each animal basically nets you between 150-200 coin.. and that’s without crafting the leather into bags (which makes it even more valuable and increases your Production tech

  • Nice to see the new map running. Its on my list but i have not got to it yet. Your thought about not outpacing your growth is a good one. Did that my first run and it got a bit tricky...build essientals and the buildings you will need in the moment. Tips/ notes: Your house has a cooking pot. Check what you need to cook here for stew/meat and gravey/ potage. If you can cook these here like the origional map do NOT build the kitchen until later. Use your house. Each building has taxes assigned to it so you want it to be useful. Sticks can be gathered with no tool cost and made into baskets or bolts or tools as well as being a building material. I would put some intensity towards this. Grow flax next spring - it is useful to sell and for crafting once you can spin it into thread and fabric Grow some veggies. Cabbages unless it was nerfed, cabages give 4 rot each once decomposed. The can also be planted and collected twice a year. Onion unless altered gives good food to material cost for meat and gravey early to mid game Carrots can be planted in winter and have a few recipe options. Great to spread out you planting and harvesting load. Make some plates or bowls for meals once you hit a point the roasted meat is not quite doing it. Sewing hut and extraction shed are useful for providing you resources: thread and linen for bows and bags, and straw (year round), stone, limestone and clay to progress your village The hunting logde and smithy would be on my list soon for cash flow. The lodge first as feathers can be gathered with no tools used and feathers are light weight cash. You can also craft some things in the lodge - check the new prices before buying the plan. A recurve bow is a good wepon and historically a popular request for quest givers. If you look at the management screen you will see your current accumulated taxes to be paid in spring. This amount goes up every season. If you look at the job interface you will see the rate the tool durability is consumed. I tend to use stone and wood tools early game for exp - unless in dire need and unable to craft the tool i would not recommend to buy any tool. Esp stone or wood. Iron or bronze perhaps pending your cash flow. Once you get the mine though you should not need to buy any tools again! Wood demand: keep an eye on this, your villagers will leave if their mood hits -100. Being without wood to burn will accomplish that. Also yoi should ONLY allow them to burn fire wood this is the most efficient and keeps your building resources safe. Turn off all except firewood in the menu once you make some firewood to use is my rec. Fall and winter ramp up the wood demand. If they run low on firewood you will get a warning and some time to fix it before anyone leaves.

    • @Kysen your welcome looking forward to seeing the rest of your playthrough and the changes the devs have made! Sheep can be profitable- they are my preferred animal for cash. Pigs - only should need 1 or 2 for manure. Cows can be good for milk and sour milk to make cheese. Note: Chickens are the shortest lived animal at about 6y lifespan. Ensure you save the chick's from their last year or so to prevent needing to replace all your laying hens. For breeding i like to have a ratio of 1 rooster to 2-3 hens Animals are not very viable until you are more established due to start up cost. However buying a chick will be cheaper, and it will mature in 2-3 seasons into an adult. Buying chicks may be the way to go if you want them now.

  • The first thing I did was buy an iron crossbow as it makes hunting so much easier . One shot kills when you hit them in the head. Only wisent and bears take more shots. Roasted meat sells very well. Also for money I go around and mine the heck out of all the caves ( I think there are 7)). Make and sell tools. I've only just started farming so I'm not sure how profitable that will be after the changes...

  • Keep up with the great content - I enjoy the time lapses (I would suggest in wood demand untick Sticks and logs, so you only use firewood - Food items remove all individual food items like Cabbage, and especially raw meat, and water only from Bucket and waterskin, because say you left alcohol drinks, they would use this water. @HecticNasari - in a recent video showing all the cave locations and also stated that you can get mine Copper in an Excavation Shed. South East of the starting village are 2 more loot buildings, and if you were to steal from the Castalian house, his wife would have expensive items in their chest.

In the old form (the Valley), you can only build five buildings at first, so when I saw you building like crazy, I was a little confused. Can anyone clarify? It's nice to see someone who doesn't know the game yet, and I would like to show you more and better the things you do for the first time, such as how to use that bag and the fertilizer, for example. Other than that, it was very enjoyable, and I hope you continue.
