Vanilla game with NTW3 Mod installed. Specific elements of Darthmod have been manually added into the NTW3 files on an individual basis included musket sounds from Darthmod, smoke mod from Darthmod, custom cannon sound mod (Better than NTW3 musket sounds IMO), custom drum and fife sounds and my own projectiles, unit land tables statistics which favor more accurate troops at the expense of longer reload times.
Earlier Total war games were a true masterpiece
They were literally art coming to life
It's disappointing how some of the older TW titles run smoother than Attila
This game has a surprisingly limited engine as well. If enough units fire at the time on the map, the animations engine runs at like 1 frame per second, while the graphics are still rendered at 60fps or more. Leading to worst stuttering ever. (Happens if multiple armies are in same battle and are engaging at the same time).
Very real possibility Attila would have been my most played total war if it didnt run horribly
You should play TW:Empire then
@@StatsGam4er The idea behind that is actually not that dumb. It's better to have the animations run at a lower tick rate than to have the controls lag, at least for multiplayer. Obviously it ruins the cinematic experience and doesn't scale well.

Napoleon Total War is one of my favourites as I absolutely love the period. The uniforms, strategy, historical characters. I still play it using Darthmod and it runs fantastically.
Still waiting for a remake of this game, or at least in the same time period such as Empire Total War 2.

I am using the NTW3 mod. But I have implemented the smoke from DarthMod as well as the muskets sounds from Darthmod and made my own custom marching music specifically for the french. I did not like the way the muskets sound in the NTW3 mod. Various unit stats changes made to the French nation for the campaign shown in this video.

@@lorgararpitan1330 I actually tried to. But realised that the new NTW3 has broken everything due to the CA patch for CPU's. Having a lot of issues now trying to bring the game where I have left off in this video. I have wasted hours of video recording time trying to explain things to the point where I have spent days trying to figure out how the new NTW3 v9.4 and v9.5 files work. They have screwed around with the musket sounds, and I am unable to even change them anymore.

Idk, the battles and ai are quite a bit better in napoleon, but everything else has been stripped down from what it was in empire. Id stick with empire unless you can get napoleon on sale imo
@@sirmax2stacks2000 i already have napoleon. i purchased it nearly a decade ago and tried it for about an hour. i had potato pc back then with a 24 inch 1080p monitor. today i have an lg c2 42 inches 4k 120hz monitor and 7900xt for gpu. i can imagine playing this on my rig right now would be mind blowing. i got my answers on what mods were installed further down the comments but thank you for letting me know what the major difference between etw and this game.
Vanilla game, with only NTW3 installed. I have modified a number of files within the NTW3 mod, including gun sounds, smoke effects, drum and fife and cannon sounds as well as my own personal total overhaul of the units_stats_land tables to favour slower reload and slightly better accuracy
Playing Napoleon with 4090 is the equivalent of shooting mosquitoes with a cannon, unless Nvidia creates the technology to improve graphics, effects and content

As the fine gentleman stated. The mod is NTW3. But there are quite alot of things i dislike about it. Used many effects from Darthmod. I have also heavily modified the unit stats of the French troops.

By watching this nice battle, the neckbottle is on the cpu. You're always at more than 90% always. It's like all particles (smokes,..) are cpu computed and not gpu. How is the distribution of % between core ? I always heard it use fully 1 core.

RTX 4090 is the GPU, and the CPU is the 5900X.
I rarely write comments, but I couldn't resist here. 1) do not jerk the camera, let it focus on the units, not the video but the slideshow, 2) 1650 graph will not be worse because the Napoleonic engine is not intended for these games, it's like hammering nails with a kinescope, why? if there is a hammer. Tried to get into Shogun 2, as people keep saying it is at least among the GOAT Total War games. Quite disappointed, when I found it to be visually far less impressive than NTW with the most basic visual overhaul and the combat rewarding army composition far more, then positioning and maneuver. When you can pin down an about equal opponent down hill within a continuous crossfire from multiple unites in a half-circle around them, you don't expect the enemy to just take it for 5 minutes straight and just route you in a charge up said hill. So yeah, my first Total War stays my preferred Total War to this day.

Far easier for me to make a tutorial on how one can change the fife and drum sounds for their choosing. I have been unsuccessful in making separate mods previously because they did not work, instead I find it easier to just edit existing files. I will consider making a video to show how this is done.

NTW using almost 100% of 5900X? I thought old TW games uses like 2-4 cores max.
I have the utilization set as the max core value of single of the 12 cores. So it might be maxing out on 1 or 2, whilst the others are idle.

Its the vanilla game, with the NTW3 mod intstalled. However, I have put different musket sounds, cannon sounds which IMO sound way better than the stock NTW3. I have made my own db.pack adjustments specific for France, used the smoke mod from Darthmod and other mods, to make my own IMO best single player experience.
gpu usage 35 % you have a bottelneck problem. buy 7950x3d or 13900k than you have 180Fps or more

No. There are no UI scaling options for this game. At 4k, everything with text is small.

Increased screen resolution, increased number of units, graphics in general remained the same, and most importantly the graphics card performance had no effect on the idiocy of the AI.

You are absolutely correct. This is one element of NTW3 i do not like. They reload so fast, its just a moshpit of musket fire. I have actually lowered all line infantry units reload by 60%, which I think is more realistic, and honestly, even with most units reload between 25-40, this still seems high...

NTW3 mod, but then I imported some other mods into it from DarthMod. Prefer the fighting of NTW3 but some elements of Darthmod which includes the musket sounds and smoke density. I manually modded my own fife and pipe tunes into the game.
