  • The way Russia took over Crimea, is exactly what they were trying to do, when those 200 Russian soldiers/mercenaries were killed in Syria. They thought that they would just roll right through, the front gate of that Oil refinery and take control of it. They counted on the U.S. soldiers and SDF, being so confused about what was happening. That they wouldn't face any resistance at all. It didn't work out at all, like how the Crimea situation went.

    • The “post-history” era lasted only from 1991-2012, sandwiched between the cold wars between the Classical and Communist powers and their allies. And even both decades of the post-history era were marred by warfare, the name of the era is a misnomer although the spirit of cooperation was very real and I believe it is the peak epoch of human civilization, but humans are naturally prone to competition and conquest and nothing can stop the natural rise, fall, and competition between the powers, and since 1945 particularly the competition between revolutionary socialism and aristocratic classicalism. Borders are always changing, just look at the most recent apolitical word map video…

  • I was 8 when the war started tho I only got effected when they burned down independence square because my parents’ work was there and my school was about 3 miles away. I derived about an hour every day there because I lived in a village called Shaslyvoe. The summer of 2015 my parents made a choice to move to America. And here I am 5 years later still being scared for my relatives because 95% of them live in Ukraine.
