  • That's what makes Diana so amazing! She barely finishes asking Steve what women wear into battle in his world and then immediately softens as she sees a baby for the first time. THAT is how you write a strong female character! You dont need to have the woman be hard as nails and never show emotion and have no innocence at all! Her softness is what helps make her so strong. We need more characters like this!!

      @Howyaduing@Howyaduing5 жыл бұрын
    • Well, not everyone can relate to things like smiling at a baby. Personally, I'm totally fine with stoicism in female characters. But men are still written better- they are allowed to have feelings of self - doubt and almost always have some sort of inner conflict. It would be great to see more female characters that are like this too. A lot of "strong" female characters suffer from some sort of "Hermione syndrome".

    • Her attitude towards modern clothing makes no sense - look at ancient civilian greek clothing like himation or just in general. That shit is so unpractical that when the ancient greeks held Olypic games, they ran naked because there is no way you can run in the stuff they wore. Civilian clothing is supposed to show your status and outline the desired contours of your body, work clothes are for work, etc. Don´t get me wrong I like the movie but this scene when she rips the clothes plus the "we call that slavery" is just cringy as fuck.

She's super strong yet doesn't come off as imitating masculine traits. Possesses a wonderful curiosity about man's world without talking down to us. Her vibe and the scene flow felt natural. • but shes not an experience actor so she needs a proper guidance from the director to be able to sold a scene. Look at how different her performance between Justice League and Wonder Woman movie. At JS she was much more stiff and less convincing than whe she was in WW. Its because Patty Jenkins understands Gal Gadot's strengths and weaknesses. Same as James Wan with Jason Momoa.

  • This is feminism done right along with Alita Battle Angel. As a fan of both Marvel and DC, DC definitely takes the win for female superhero over Captain Marvel. And it looks like Shazam is doing good as well.

    • @@metoo3342 In Diana's first ever encounter with a man, she saves a man from drowning, fights the German army who was chasing him, protects him from other hostile Amazons who want to kill him, then leaves the island against her mother's wishes to defend mankind. Diana immediately rejects her fellow Amazon's anti-male sentiments and distrust of "the world of men." All of the anti-male sentiment feminist harpies love about Captain Marvel pitting groups against each other and framing males as evil oppressors is outright REJECTED immediately by Diana. What you're calling "feminist scenes" were actually "egalitarian scenes." Little to no modern feminism/ misandry was involved in Wonder Woman.
