Shaquille Toussaint Yoel was the shorter challenger with less reach. It’s literally his job to press the engagement. A taller fighter with reach has to reason to step inside and brawl with a stronger puncher, you attack the base and use your length, this is basic fight IQ.
Dannynorw I’m not sure how many fights you have watched but Yoel was standing there cuz that was his game plan why should Izzy engage when Yoel is doing the equivalent of camping in a room with a fucking shotgun pointed at the only entry point

I love TG, but for me through the analysis...(he did mention Yoel was the challenger in passing) but through all the breakdown of the main event, I think the bottom line is Yoel who wants and has the responsibility to show he deserves the belt and In the case of a K.O, will take the belt, didn't show anything. It's a shitty situation but the challenger has to chase the belt, and prove to the judges or in a KO that he deserves it. So it was a boring fight yes, but izzy had the belt, so it's on Romero to find a way to take it from him. Izzy following Romero's lead and just not doing anything is smart, bottom line if nothing happens he would leave the champ. So why would Izzy fight any different?
