I read somewhere on a good theory why Priest didn't cash in on Seth. Seth had friends. If he cashed in on Seth, he always had allies like Cody, Jey or Sami waiting in the wings who could screw it up for him. Drew however, had no allies. Nobody would help him if he was cashed in on.

But honestly I like that they gave Drew a +1 on his world title resume...the next time he inevitably wins one he'll be a 4 times world champion. But honestly I like that they gave Drew a +1 on his world title resume...the next time he inevitably wins one he'll be a 4 times world champion. In the 2000s they created more than five 10+ times champions (that I can think of) and I think there hasn't been a single one added in over 10 years now...I want more short reigns to inflate the numbers and no more attempts for a longest reign (at least for a few years now), to give the entire main event scene more cred and not just the top two guys

The point about Punk taking the moment from Drew is great, but the point I prefer is that drew was telling Seth for weeks that his obsession with the Bloodline was going to cost him the title, but in the end, Drew's obsession with Punk cost him the title.
It's also like a passing of the torch. The first person to cash in his MITB was Seth and now someone else cashes in on Seth's match... just not on Seth. Would have been more appropriate if Seth won and he got cashed in on but this is a much better angle to do it with.
