Also, yes, and the trouble with schools is that the teachers can’t focus on students singularly- there are too many students in the class and in the school! The teachers always focus on the “lowest common denominator,” or the worst students. That leaves the good students out. What should be happening is: the teachers focus on the good students, and the less good students eventually catch on.

    • Advice to Parents, before making your children suffer the consequences, talk to their teachers and find out what caused the low grade. If it’s because they weren’t handing in assignments, being prepared for class, etc, then yes they deserve to suffer the consequences. If it’s because they aren’t doing well on Test/Quizzes, then ask the teacher about getting extra help (tutoring, extra credit). Also, some teachers might decide to change your child’s grade after talking to them. You can ask the teacher to keep in touch about your child’s progress for the next quarter, (letting you know when something is not handed in or Incomplete , letting you know when your child failed a test/quiz, etc….). In conclusion, make sure you find out how your children got the bad grade before punishing them. Also get to know the teachers as well and know how your children are getting graded and what will most likely cause a low grade in the class.

And besides how do we even know he’s even trying his best? From the video it just looks like he is a slacker who doesn’t really care about work. It baffles me that people don’t understand if a kid can’t be bothered to apply them self during school, then, how are they going to be able to succeed in the real world? Not being able To stay focused on your work while you have a job will result in you being fired eventually because the employee wants someone who doesn’t get distracted and actually does the work

  • The story is about a boy who uses his mom's belief and trust in him. He gets his report card with all C's and D's, but lies to his mom and teacher, so he won't get in trouble. Also, liesd to his classmate - Alicia, that he knows how board just to impress her. Eventually, every lie he told came to light, and I hope he learned a very good lesson from what happened. I just don’t understand why our parents have to be so strict for nothing without knowing that they’ve already tried their hardest and this is all they could get. They won’t understand how stressful it is for us and everything we did comes with a reason, he didn’t show his mum his report card cuz he know his mum will ground him and yell at him. If his mum don’t do that, he might not have good grades but will always be honest with them and that’s all u need. Maybe try teaching them or find a tutor for them instead of grounding them so they might improve their grades and not just sit in their room feeling angry, sad all day.

    @dxpresskitkat298@dxpresskitkat2982 жыл бұрын
    • That’s because in the past kids (for some odd reason) absolutely loved playing outside and staying inside would be considered very boring. Therefore getting grounded would mean you don’t get to go outside to play with your friends. Which would be torture if you lived in a world where modern day technology doesn’t exist. Nowadays parents don’t necessarily ground their children, they simply take away their electronic. The concept of “grounding” might also have changed recently. It might just means no video games.

    • @@KacperMaster26 I never got to ground my son because of his dad. I understand there are parents who spank within reason, punish within reason, and their youngster still refuses to act right because they are not robots and cannot force them to fear consequences, but sadly, my son's father for most part do not even try, nor say no when it is needed. But my ex-domestic partner sure did not have a problem using the word no with me......

  • To be honest, I kind of feel for the kid in this one. Yes, hiding the report card and lying was bad, but he has probably needed help and support with improving his grades for a while, assuming he hasn't received that. Dude needs to reach out for the help he needs. This should apply in real life, too. Punishing for lying is fine, but I don't think one should be punished for their bad grades which could be caused by a lack of motivation, or anything really. If you're reading this, and you relate to this kid in some ways like I kinda do, the best thing you can do is ask your teacher to help you out if you don't understand something in the class - or even ask your parents to arrange tutoring if that's possible for you. You got this.

    • @@jasonstrange7402 The thing is, bad grades don't always boil down to not focusing. As someone who struggles with my grades in my last year of highschool, I can say that it's not as simple as you may think. Many factors can come into play such as mental health, and stress. Those are things I definitely struggle with a lot, and many other people do as well. And impressing a girl is really not something that can interfere with school work. The fault in the character is his tendency to lie in order to avoid a situation. That isn't good. But in real life, we should look at that more, and think about what that kid may be going through in his/her head.
