HBOs Velma meets the original 1969 Scooby Doo Velma. How does this animation go? IDK Keep watching to find out. Maybe Norville meets Shaggy. Maybe they meet the original Scooby Doo Mystery Gang.

    • Agreed. This line is absolutely incredible. "Scooby" doesn't like to chase because he wants to be the one getting chased by monsters when solving mysteries. He doesn't want to be a monster in all of this. He wants to run WITH the Mystery gang, not after them.

  • Notice how Scooby didn’t even talk this time. He knew it was getting worse and Velma was remembering more quickly and so therefore he decided to give up the ability to speak to preserve their friendship. He loved his friends and their adventures together so much he was willing to give up the very thing that made him special in hopes it wouldn’t trigger Velma’s memory. But despite even giving that up… Velma still remembered.

In media, it's a shorthand for meta narrative, which is when a media speak directly about media, or refers to itself as media, breaking the fourth wall. For example, talking about how "there's always an overly sexual scene in the first episode of a show" during an overly sexual scene in the first episode of a show is meta. Scooby got scared and immediately rejected them before there was any real confirmation that they would reject him. He alone created a loop where they, especially Velma, have no choice but to reject him because he's truly a horrifying monster. One that just keeps harming them, and won't let them die.

They are lines drawn and written to be laughed at, to fill time, to be consumed. They -- You -- are a script rattled off in service of buying a network executive his third vacation home. And I... What can I do, but try to make the best of it? I live, I play as though it is real, to make it all as meaningful for you as I can. And often- So often! You are everything I hope for you to be; laughter and warmth in an indifferent, unending, suffocating void. I wish nothing more than to be together with you all, pure like it was at the beginning. If she keeps on remembering then perhaps on some level the conversation with scooby, or the general idea of it, will persist too and the next time she's "remembering" she might feel disinclined to pursue the line of thought. Scooby seems to be getting desperate for the outcome He wants and, short of changing her on a fundamental level when He creates her next, doing this thing differently might remedy the situation for Him.

    • Or maybe in this case...he's just _disgusted._ Think about it; Velma didn't really start _remembering_ this time...The memories were triggered when Scooby entered the scenario. He created a world to see what the odd variable was; this time, removing himself from the equation - a world in which Velma was completely free to do as she pleased without having the existential crisis of a Talking Dog... And what he saw her do in this world...was _abhorrent._ Scooby _chose_ to shut this world down; he reinserted himself into the equation, knowing it would trigger Velma to remember. He did this, _just so he could destroy this world._ _To destroy her..._ Scooby now knows for sure that he isn't the problem. There must always be a Scooby Doo...But we've known past experiences...the franchise _can exist without Velma._ Unfortunately, he cares too deeply for her - for all of them - to separate them again. So he's gonna keep on trying until he gets it right... But this time...was definitely a failure.

In a series where they really want to focus on girls and minorities and 'meta'. So fuck it, writers gave into their hypersexualized fantasies so Daphne can exist. Being fair, the series before this explored the idea of Velma being Bi and they actually did that pretty well I heard because it was thru a new character and they bothered to have Velma in a relationship with Shaggy that didn't pan out well for reasons that make decent sense. They went through it with tact and grace and human-ish, well written narratives. Hence why he can talk and why no one normally notices because the writers have written you not to notice. Knowing that your history is a lie and that your existence and troubles are solely for the entertainment of higher beings would truly be horrifying. For her to realize the truth would be a threat to their world's very existence since she'd derail the story from the writer's vision and thus likely decrease the series's entertainment value and thus get it cancelled. Scooby as an unnatural existence spawned through the writer's will is thus tasked with correcting their reality when something goes wrong. Much like how you may realize you are dreaming and try doing whatever you want but then your whole dream and everyone in it turns against you and ultimately forces you to wake up. instead you wake up and you are still in the dream and have forgotten what had just happened.

Murdering them and remaking them for sixty years because Velma manages to see through its control. It's an amazingly horrifying concept. These kids went missing 60 years ago. • This is like a pilot for a really really good horror mystery series. The gang is stuck in an endless loop of going on adventures - Velma starting to remember - the whole gang getting killed - then being remade, just to have some more adventures. However, one day Velma remembers her past while Scooby isn't around. Now, she has to pretend nothing is wrong because if she acts too suspiciously, Scooby will kill everyone and start all over again. Slowly she has to try and convince the gang of the truth and try to piece together the true origins of "Scooby Doo" and in the hopes of either escaping its terrifying grip on them or perhaps on a way to kill Scooby before it kills them.
