This Knockout Tournament really does show us how skilled Police is at using a Kart. He literally was at the front of the pack for most of the tournament, often with a considerably large lead, with quite possibly the worst Kart in the game. An absolute showcase of Police's skill.

1:01:55 Wow, Troy had the best blue shell yet on this competition. Police got launched, then flattened right after and it changed the whole race.
@Cavitary No he did get squished. You can see after he was hit from Troy's blue shell by looking at the map, he got squished by a car as a combo.
Of course Troy, Everyone loves Reversed Tracks and karts! SO the best option is to put them together! What a outstanding significant astonishing performance you have played Twd amazing.
hearing Troy say [player] has a X-second breakaway made me wonder if anyone tried to make a mod for sector timings basically whenever the race leader passes a key checkpoint the game would record it and display to you how many seconds behind you are when you pass the same checkpoint could also have it be difference to player ahead instead of the leader
This is a thing in Formula Kart, but it only does it once per lap
I really dislike how the tie-breaker works. It should only be between those who are tied for elimination. With this system, there's also a chance that there's multiple tie-breaker races in a row which is just ridiculous and unfair
agreed. hate it to say it but troy 100% deserved to have been eliminated there
its pretty unlikely though, 99% of the time it doest even go to another person another tie breaker would be super rare, and if you raced poorer overall (placed lower) in the same 5 races then you should probably be eliminated instead, makes perfect sense to me. it just feels unfair because we only see troys perspective and hes normally really good and dominates so to see him slip out of elimination seems unfair, although it seemed he deserved to be eliminated which he did but the other player probably also deserved to be eliminated and he had less points so i dont see the problem
i think you may not like it because you call it a ‘tie-breaker’. It’s not, which is why i personally love it. The way i see it, intentional or not, this system is a ‘extend the GP until it’s decisive’. There were 3 or 4 racers who didn’t perform well, two tied, and in the next race, both did extremely well. Why not punish the players who didn’t despite being at a point advantage? I think this system is quite wonderful because it gives *all* the players a chance to redeem themselves, not just one of two.
@@nuloom I called it a tie-breaker because that's what Troy said it was. In every sport or competition I know, when two competitors or teams are tied, it is settled between those who are tied only. And it makes sense. Those who have gotten the least amount of points after *the set amount* of races should be knocked out. That's the whole point of a knockout tournament

I did not say anything about what Troy called it, but since it clearly isn’t a tie breaker, you are making the exact same mistake he is. To me, there is absolutely nothing to gain from unnecessary strictness in the possible count of matches. It’s a game. A tiebreaker is inflexible and only makes two people compete, rather than two or more. To each their own, of course, but you don’t have to be close-minded about this. Even if it’s not used anywhere else, even if it’s just a bug here, I think it’s way more exciting this way. It also seems more fair; this method guarantees the eliminated players are the ones that performed the worst out of all player races.

From beginning to end in the blink of an eye, Troy’s stream of his insane “backwards tracks with karts knockout tournament” run went from being potentially eliminated in the first GP to forcing a miraculous tie-breaker and placing third throughout the entire tournament! This was quite a cinderella run for Troy!

When we got to Coconut Mall it felt like I was watching MarioKart Tour lol. It's now familiar to me in that way. Even the Maple Treeway trick of staying to the right so you can take the shortcut.

@@Vellision_Blake the drift is bad and the mini turbo is also terrible. It is definitely an automatic favouring vehicle which does lose it some significant points on some maps but apparently that's not a big enough handicap for police!

On the notion of boost into wall mechanics, and to play a bit of Devil's Advocate, the ricochet can go either way on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. If you hit it right, you go and keep up your momentum without issue. Get it wrong, and you could go careening the way you don't want to go by either going backwards on the track, smack into another wall, or go flying off the track. On the wall ricochet, it has screwed me 68% of the time that it's happened for me... So really, this is a case of 'Your Milage May Vary.'
