Nothing like listening to this after my parents have been repeatedly arguing, physically attacking each other, and destroying the entire apartment and then resulting in me having to escape my own home with my older sister for safety and finally returning home after hours and discovering that my abusive father finally left ( most likely forever this time) and now I don’t know how I can stay financially stable without him living here because he helped pay the bills,but I’m sure I’ll make it through this somehow.

Does anyone else feel like this song like 100% but with their parents? My whole family, actually, is very abusive, physically and emotionally. The transition from being scared and sad to not needing them anymore and being confident in myself hit so hard. This is who I want to be. No matter how many times they tell me they hate me and hit me, I still try everything to make them love me. My entire life has been a game of trying to be perfect to get their love, but it's never worked at all. I can't wait till I get out. I will survive!!! Sometimes I get really depressed because it feels like that time is never coming, but I only have 4 years left now. It's still a long time, but I'll make it! The front of this song makes me picture a future version of myself in my OWN house telling my parents to get out of my life forever because I dont need them anymore. And they wont be able to hurt me anymore. This actually made me cry lol. I cant wait for that day. I just have to keep my head up and the destructive thoughts away for a few more years

Nothing like listening to this after my parents have been repeatedly arguing, physically attacking each other, and destroying the entire apartment and then resulting in me having to escape my own home with my older sister for safety and finally returning home after hours and discovering that my abusive father finally left ( most likely forever this time) and now I don’t know how I can stay financially stable without him living here because he helped pay the bills,but I’m sure I’ll make it through this somehow.

Does anyone else feel like this song like 100% but with their parents? My whole family, actually, is very abusive, physically and emotionally. The transition from being scared and sad to not needing them anymore and being confident in myself hit so hard. This is who I want to be. No matter how many times they tell me they hate me and hit me, I still try everything to make them love me. My entire life has been a game of trying to be perfect to get their love, but it's never worked at all. I can't wait till I get out. I will survive!!! Sometimes I get really depressed because it feels like that time is never coming, but I only have 4 years left now. It's still a long time, but I'll make it! The front of this song makes me picture a future version of myself in my OWN house telling my parents to get out of my life forever because I dont need them anymore. And they wont be able to hurt me anymore. This actually made me cry lol. I cant wait for that day. I just have to keep my head up and the destructive thoughts away for a few more years
