Can't we just get over the fact that Crash is in a Skylanders game (which in itself isn't a bad thing) and appreciate the dedication which went into making this level alone ?
What about his whole moveset? Both his and Cortex's are like a love letter to the first three Crash games. Only thing missing from Crash is his ability to double jump.

Fun fact, Fake Crash's nick name is Trash, and he was created to make fun of a toy company that made a rip off version of a Crash figurine out of wood.
I thought it was a low-quality Japanese toy of Crash that inspired him. And if what I said is true, then it's ironic since Japan LOVES Fake Crash, to the point where they had him in live action videos with Crash and even had him playable in the Japanese version of Crash Bash.

Gotta love the references in this level: gems, the opening part of the level resembling N. Sanity Beach, the different crates, the Tiny and Dingodile statues, the boulder chase sequence. There's even different dialogue depending on whether you're playing as Crash or Cortex (for example, instead of saying that Spyro "has an unusual theory", Aku Aku will tell Cortex that Spyro "found out that it's not his (Cortex's) fault...mostly."). Even the villagers will comment on thinking that Cortex was supposed to be the bad guy. Mags and Spyro have different dialogue too. I'm so glad the fruit bazooka is back! I was beginning to think it was forgotten what with the lack of it in the main story, but there it is! They even have the Crash 2 jetpack! Now all I need to know is whether his belly flop was included or not. And there it is...yep, Crash is easily the best guest Skylander in my book, just barely edging out DK and Bowser (Cortex is pretty cool too though).
I wonder who does the voice of Uka Uka. It's not Clancy Brown (though the person doing is Doug his best impression of Brown's Uka Uka), and it's definitely not Mark Hamill. Even the boss ships look a lot like N. Gin's from Crash 2 and 3. Clearly someone on the dev team loves their Bandicoot. So that's how the lives system works for Crash in this game. OK, that level was just the best.

+Pawel Slezak I think that was a Tag Team Racing deal. I haven't played a Crash game past Wrath of Cortex, but I've played the games prior to that enough and recently seen the whole of Twinsanity to know that farting was definitely not a thing Crash did in his early career.
+Pawel Slezak As for the level portals...now that you mention it, they are somewhat reminiscent of Warped's Warp Orbs. I just didn't see the connection initially since Crash seems to jump into the orb rather than getting sucked in head first as he and Coco do in Warped.

I have to admit, at first i was scared od what they might have done to mess up crash worse then some of the previous crash games, now im awstruck at how much they have captured the classic crash bandicoot game feel and made it even better

I give Skylanders a lot of flak for its business model, but I love how much heart and detail was put into this whole package. This gives me a lot of hope for the remastered edition since the same developers are working on that.
Just from the trailers, it looks like Activision's staying really faithful to the trilogy even with the upgraded graphics (probably the biggest leap I've seen since Sonic Generations). Even the Voice Acting from what I've seen (which is just the opening) is staying pretty true (only pretty since it's Maurice LaMarche's N. Brio, down to some of his ticks from Mind Over Mutant).
I still wish the team that made this level made a new Crash game.

I love the Cortex level. It's like Wrath of Cortex meets Space Invaders
Um except we are aren't even given a good reason why Dr. Neo Cortex would be so willing to even destroy his own evil space equipment man. After all the Evil Twins in Crash Twinsanity were trying to completely steal Cortex's brain and out best Cortex's plans for world domination obviously. As we also don't even see Crash Bandicoot or Spyro force him to do it that would make more sense to the character also and story wise too.
I was a little nervous about this when they had announced it at E3. But after seeing game play at Gamescom, I am genuinely impressed. I love the Graphics, The Music, The Nostalgia references and even the Character designs. (I still don't see why people hate the character designs.) You can just see how much efforts and details were put into this project. Vicarious Visions did a fantastic job! This just gets me even more excited for the Remasters! Damn it, Why cant 2017 just get here already? Either way welcome back Crash! :D

I trust them because they've worked with the Series and they did a great job on Nitro Kart. I just think that alot of people hate the Skylanders Imaginators version because of how they treated Spyro. I will be honest, they kind of took a massive shit on Spyro. So i can agree with you on that

Incredibly well made. You can see how much effort they have put into it! and there are soooo many details that you see in all of crash's games... I do believe there could be a better plot to it, but i don't think that was the main subject. I can't WAIT for the trilogy! I know its going to be incredible
Also, I deff don't like the voice for aku aku... And i do find it a bit odd that the indians speak... they never really did, so its a bit odd to me... specially when they talk like surfers! Uka Uka's and cortex's voices sound great!

Welcome back and happy 20th anniversary, Crash Bandicoot. I hope you enjoy your time here in 2016.
You know what? This gives me hope for the remasters. Tiny, Dingodile, Cortex, Crash and even Fake Crash all look like their old selves but updated. The gameplay here also looks like a demo for the games, which shows that this is the Crash Bandicoot we all grew up with. I can't wait for the new games to come back out!

It bugs me that it's a rhythmic level and after the boss, Crash doesn't do his iconic dance. It was a perfect moment for the dance! Why waste such an opportunity? ohh why?
He does when he's idle or in the upgrades menu, it's even shown off in a 20th anniversary trailer
In the older games he did his dance after beating a boss. So that's why i'm a bit disappointed. Especially, if they already animated the dance. Such a simple detail, but it means a lot for the fans.

YOO first time i see this. This is my favorite version crash. I like more the chill and cool looking crash than the crash from it´s about time.

Buy it. The game's fantastic, regardless of the rose-tinted geeks. I never really gave Skylanders a second look. I knew it was the series where Spyro had basically went to die, but I didn't know much more than that. About a month or two back I looked online and saw the Switch copy of Imaginators was only $22. I had the money and looking at videos of it on KZhead, it looked like a fun game to play cooperatively with my brother. Ended up playing the whole game alone and now I'm addicted to collecting different figures. Get the starter pack and the Crash/Cortex bundle (or the PS4 bundle that includes Crash and Cortex alongside the starter content if that's the system you're getting it on) and try it out. If you like it... well, say goodbye to your wallet.

I grew up with the Naughty Dog games, and I thought these redesigns and characterizations were solid, dignified updates. Not crazy about Crash's voice, but his look is a good redesign for a new generation of consoles.

Yeah, I never liked Crash's annoying gibberish voice. I understand that Crash is a wacky character but Naughty Dog and Traveler's Tales were able to pull that off with Crash having a one worded vocabulary.

Wow before the remasters this was the best I've seen of Crash in years. If they released a whole game like this I wouldn't be mad as long as it varied as the game went on and had a fun good plot, I would buy it. I still like the remasters though.

This level has enemies at specific spots, but it's mostly a puzzle and rhythm level. It's right in the vein of Crash. Enemies aren't a huge focus. The platforming and navigation of the levels are more relevant.

You can do that, it's pretty stupid. They didn't think the whole "Skylanders as storytellers" thing through at all/didn't have the room to explain it. I hate how as the series went on they contradicted the "frozen toys" thing in lore more and more and only spoke to your Skylanders rather than the player. It's really sad only the first game got that completely right. Imaginators plot was so rushed and shat out all over, and we know at least VV had a different roadmap for the story, wish we could see some of that.

Honestly I don't think it is terrible at all. I just feel it all looks a bit off. I know it's Skylanders though. Honestly I'm really tempted to buy the game just for the Crash stuff.
