Hi there, is the new large RCI slightly bigger or somehow more deformable than the 1st generation RCI? I ask because I could not manage to fit the 800 PF into my gen 1 large and had to resort to buying the new XL RCI. On a side note, the size of the dividers of the Gen 1's were really inconveniently sized and I'm happy to see the newer model addressed this. My only other criticism of the Nya bag is the side pouches do not expand outward very easily; they could use more of an accordian type construction. When my XL RCI is in the backpack and it is full, a 1 liter waterbottle barely fits in the side pouch. Even better in my opinion would be to eliminate the pouches and replace them with MOLLE attachments.
Wow, couldn't disagree more on the side pockets. I think they're perfect for blue my insulated liter bottle and my tripod legs. I prefer the 50c's dude pockets, but certainly not mole please. I don't have the first gen, but the 800 fits perfectly in the 2nd.
Purchased the Luma Lab strap several years ago after watching your video. It has worked well & I can't imagine using anything else. Until the other day, the strap has frayed & twisted but it is still usable, however, the QD connection failed. The detent balls do not engage in the receptor. Fortunately, this failed as I was trying to attach it to the camera, not while the camera was hanging from the strap. I tried to contact Luma Lab by their product support email since these straps are supposed to have a lifetime warranty but have received no response. Not too impressed with Luma Lab right now. I switched to a Blackrapid strap & retrofitted it with a GG&G QD connection. The sling action is not as smooth as the Luma strap but it will have to do I guess.
This is a follow-up. Luma Lab finally did respond to my warranty request and agreed to replace both the QD swivel and the strap, which had frayed and twisted. That's the good news, the bad news is they have no idea when the items will be available.
Nice video as usual! Quick question, with the x-tra large icu is it capable of carrying the 400mm f2.8 1.4tc and the 800mm at the same time, preferably with camera bodies attached? Thank you in advance
Just tried it with David Archer this morning. Yep. Both lenses with hoods and Z9s eyepeices pointed to the sides. It's tight and heavy, but fits.

No, I knew what you meant. My gear lives in my NYA-EVO bag packed and ready to go hanging on a carabiner on the end of a rolling baker's rack. I don't pamper my gear at all. I use it hard, clean it, and keep it ready to go again. ;)

Weight. How do you get around the weight restrictions airlines have for hand luggage taken on board?
The only times I encounter that (Arctic, Costa Rica, Africa small planes), I pay about 1-2 dollars per pound overage. Never had to leave a thing behind yet. I ignore such restrictions. A bit of cash alsways greases the wheels.
This sounds like the answer for my z 180-600 but I can't see where they are available for Australians. Yes I can buy online to cost of transport is a drama. Any suggestions, please.

Hudson, I follow most of your KZhead videos and have a question re. the Zemlin hood you pulled out in this video. I have had some difficulty with the hood for my Z600mm pf F/6.3. It is difficult to attach properly. Seems it is easily out of sorts with locking onto the lens and gets stuck and is not secure. I have switched back and forth with the 400 F/4.5 Hood (same dimensions as the 600mm) and it exhibits same difficult. Two friends with same lens have same difficulty with their 600mm pf's. Reported to Nikon but they seem to indicate there is no problem and tried to tell me how to attach. The 400mm 4.5 hood attaches perfectly without a problem. I thought of ordering the Zemlin hood but fear I may have the same problem because issue seems more like it is at the lens end and not the hood itself. Sorry for the length of this. Any insight appreciated. Michael
Zemlin hoods attach to a ring that locks tightly into the crummy nikon edge mount via a screw together clamp. You'll have to watch his video to see what I mean. They rock.
