STORY
Picture yourself living in isolation for over six decades, deep within Sweden's impenetrable forests, with minimal connections to the outside world-such was the extraordinary life of Mister G Loow.
Our journey led us to a secluded cabin, tucked away amidst the solitude of the woods, its interiors still echoing with the presence of its former occupant. It took us several hours of hiking to reach this lonely Cabin.
Mister Loow, a man who cherished solitude, rarely made appearances in the town. His neighbors and townspeople, concerned about his well-being, would check on him every few months, and some even ventured to his place to ensure
he was still alive.
Since his passing in 2004, everything has been gradually falling apart, yet it remains frozen in time, untouched for two decades. His car in the backyard and his living room still mirror the way he left them on his last day on earth.

  • My neighbour lived in his old stone house for the entirety of his 85years, did zero upkeeping since his parents past away & never left the house in his last 30years. Neighbours shopped for him & would leave it on his doorstep...he wouldn't allow anyone in his house. On him passing 5years ago, I was fortunate to go inside & I was totally amazed at what I saw. It was just like stepping back in time 50+ years ago...his kitchen was a fire pit stove & solid stone worktop balanced on solid stone uprights. The house has since been completed renovated.

    • I know it all too well. I bought a house that was built in 1924, I lived there for 20 years and just sold it because of health reasons I couldn’t keep up with repairs and all, I stuck it out as long as possible because it was my home. I thought as long as it stood, I had a roof over my head. It had started crumbling down around me. When someone came in and looked at it, they did a test with some kind of meter to test how much moisture was in the walls and they were full. It almost costed me the sale, but someone finally bought it. It broke my heart. It was the only home I ever owned. It’s been a year now and I still cry over it. It may have been crumbling, but it was still my home. I raised my son there. Now I live with my son and his wife. She is great daughter-in-law and all, I have no complaints in that area, but I feel like a burden. There’s nothing like having your own. Even if it is falling down around you.

  • 46 years old Swede here. I would guess the old man died in 2004 year, or during the end of 2003 year, and during the last year(s) of his life didn't have power or possibility to do any upkeeping. Before that he at least tried (the typical Swedish Christmas lamps in the windows, even if he lived where noone saw them except perhaps the mailman!) The woman's clothes could as well be his old mother's, or maybe he was once married but his wife died suddenly or left him, and he never threw the clothes away, maybe dreaming some strange dream that she would eventually return? Or maybe she was his sister which would explain that there is no real bedroom for two in the house? I noticed some details on the ground floor were clearly from 1990s or early 2000s (like his surprisingly newish landline telephone and some of the grocery store paper bags), but on the upper floor the grocery store paper bags were of a 1980s style just like I remember them from my childhood then. Maybe the upper floor was left in a mess when the man got old and couldn't walk up the stairs any more. Probably he lived his whole life in this place and it wasn't any problem as long as he had his power, but finally he got too old and couldn't move, let alone take care of the house, but still refused help (or refused to ask for help) from the local authorities, There are, or at least used to be, lots of people in Sweden living like this man, alone in a small wooden house deep in the forest, where time stood still since their mother died or something like that... At least this man had electricity, a landline phone, a mailbox and it seemed he had some contacts with the outside world.

  • Hey Lesley, I just rewatched this video of your explore together with Danny. Already at the beginning it was interesting to see how challenging the hike was to finally reach the location. - I can imagine, that this wood house was back in the active days quite a cozy and comfortable home. Very typical nordic style from the outside with these red and white colours, which I have seen many times in Finland as well. - I saw an electric lamp at a bedside and a switch on a wall. So the former owner even had electricity, also necessary for the fridge and freezer. - It is actually quite unique to see, that in this remote location was electricity and other equipment to have quite a comfortable life. - I also loved seeing how respectful you and Danny were approaching the probable life of the former owners. Despite of the heavy decay and the messed up state of some rooms there were still a lot of nice and charming details visible, especially in the living/dining room. - Once more a wonderful explore video with strikingly beautiful background music! Respect, my friend! I am already looking forward to your next explore adventure! - Stay safe, bro, many hugs, peace and kindest regards from Switzerland.

Some of those things look newer. I think a lady, maybe a relative, was able to move in and stay for a while. I am starting to find that the older I get the more value my alone time to do whatever I want without all the stress more than anything else. It’s quite peaceful and really relaxing 😌 and I enjoy it more and more as time goes by. I do enjoy company or a relationship a lot if it’s with the right person but I also enjoy being by myself just as much or sometimes even more ! 😄 i do think that some people need to be around other people all the time… but that being said some of us don’t need or want m that in our lives every waking minute of every day and it can be nothing but a total stress trip to some of us to always be around everyone all the time. As they say in Prometheus "God does not build in straight lines" and the same should go for flat surfaces (mostly). You can also (clearly) see the powerline (or pole) with the fuse box @ 11:03. So yes; there was power. This is not me hating, it´s just me observing. The video is excellent!
