Who has tried Ritalin? Share your experience!
I was prescribed Ritalin, Concerta and Adderall at various points of my life to treat “ADHD“ and I have to tell you my experience was horrific! I believe it cause psychosis and paranoia and depression. Also a family member of mine was taking my meds when I was not in school and as a result has been hooked on the drug for 30+ years. I have to say it’s very troubling how smiley you are talking about this horrible horrible drug! So you’re going to increase the dosage until the symptoms are adequately under control? So do you believe that the symptoms are equivalent to the diagnosis? If so you should be really ashamed of yourself! The pharmaceutical industry is not seeking to help patients they are seeking to acquire more customers for life! It is ridiculously addictive. Look at the Opiate epidemic in our country! I’m sure doctors like you were smiling telling people it would help them with their pain and alleviate their symptoms all the while getting them to become Addicts for the rest of their life!
I know longer crave sugar
@@jonathanstell9732 sorry about your negative experience, but much of the rest of what you said is so so detached from reality, bordering on conspiracy theory territory
@@jonathanstell9732 then you were prescribed the wrong drug on accident prob, I'm on Ritalin right now, first off you can not get depression, second off you do not get hooked (not addicting) and lastly there always will be side effects to a drug that actually works!
I have ADD(outdated I know) and was prescribed it took it but it causes me headaches and anxiety , I no longer take them.
I'm very happy that on ritalin the only thing I experienced was appetite loss, it made me much calmer than I usually am and significantly less stressed and anxious. For me it was a silver bullet to the struggle of just *doing* and I'm super happy about it.
I just got out on methylphenidate er concerta. I got put on 18mg. The next month went to 36 and it didn’t last as long. So my doctor put me on 10mg at 4pm about 6 hours after my first dose and it has helped amazingly.
I am on the extended release version, but even that lasts me roughly around 5, sometimes 6 hours. Instead of having a booster dose later, I was prescribed the extended release both morning and afternoon. It works wonders! I only experience mild sideffects when the medication gradually stops working. Other than that, my body takes it pretty well
Well done, excellent video. Very comprehensive 👍
Vous êtes excellente, j'aime le débit dynamique de votre voix, les informations sont claires, facile à comprendre, très bonne capacité à transmettre vos connaissances, merci et continuez votre beau travail je m'abonne! 😊🎉

A girl had trouble focusing had work. Told her to go to a doctor. Gave her 1 pill after 10 minutes she work better than the worker. She listened to me and went to a doctor
You’re the Goat
Can the rash i get on my calves be because histamine release
I couldn't find anything on psychotic romantic episodes. very curious, because it sounds possibly familiar. could you share anything about it?
Going to ask my doctor if I can try this. Tried wellbutrin, for adhd, and it made me absolutely manic!!
The first prescription I was allowed to try for my ADHD from my provider was Wellbutrin and I couldn't feel anything from it. Tried up to six or seven or eight at a time and felt a slight increase in energy but only slight. Yeah I guess for my body it doesn't react with it whatsoever.
I felt great on Wellbutrin but man, it really made me so angry! Literally so angry and over nothing. I now got switched to methylphenidate and I’ll be starting that!
Welbutrin for adhd is BS!
Does it increases risk of heart attack or has adverse effects on heart
I'm 61 and I had add when I was a kid which became bipolar disorder later on. I still wish I had something that could help me focus. I'm not sure I could take ritalin again without it spiking my blood pressure as well.
You can't develop BD later on in life You've always had that in you or you don't have it at all....
I disagree@@rvh1702
I disagree because that is exactly what happened to me.@@rvh1702
Not true.@@rvh1702
I was just prescribed this from my doctor & im nervous to take it. I got it Thursday.
Update?
hey can I ask how things are now? someone I love is on Ritalin and has like completely changed I’m so worried they won’t go back to their usual selves have things gone back to normal for you?
I've been on it for a month. So far so good 😊
@@jonathanbassett3816please give an update! Have u noticed improvement? Side effects? I just got prescribed it!
@@gabriella218it can change certain behaviour patterns markedly. This should be well self monitored. Things like libido and aggression, hypersexuality
So I went to see a PD and she prescribed me Ritalin and told me to start from 25 mg a day (5-5-5-10) and then add 15 more milligrams each day until I reach 70 milligrams a day (day 4). So as I started taking my meds like that I almost instantly lost my appetite, had trouble to fall asleep then it was worse, I had anxiety attack (never had one before). After seeing my PD once again in 14 days, we agreed I will do another try because I was in stress from my work and that could be the problem. So yeah, today I reached 60 milligrams, had depression, dark thoughts and some other things. Tachycardia, my asthma kicked in... Not sure if Ritalin is the right choice for me, becase I've never felt so close to losing my mind. I want to try something non-stimulant based so let's see.
Your dose sounds too high for someone starting
@@juanfernandez667 It was. Now I got only 100 mg of Atomoxetine.
My psych started me at 5mg. Yours sounds way too high.
My doctor gives it to me for anxiety and depression Concerta
Do you find it helpful? Dr. Aly
@@dralywood he gives it to me for the amphetamine effect missing from my depression meds
Dr. Ali I find it very easy to talk to you you are so helpful and you are easy to look at to please accept the compliment
Does ur doctor give you concerta or Ritalin for depression ? And do you feel like they help the depression even though they aren’t anti depressants
@@finity9316 One of the most common side effects of these stimulates are: depression anxiety and even psychosis. So someone might find it helpful at first but the longer you take it the more risk you have of paranoia, hallucinations etc. etc. you really need to look into it yourself it’s a very sketchy drag
If it treats obesity then why did I gain weight on it? Determining the dose of the long acting one is a bit more involved than using your daily dose as you don't know in advance how long it will work. It also doesn't always work all that evenly. In my body the initial dose would be too big and then the slow acting bit would be insufficient and stop working too fast.
No way i was in Ritalin LA for 3 years and it always lasts Atleast 12 hours if u Google ritalin it says it could last up to 14 hours
Everyone is different when he/she on it!
is adderall more effective for adults?
Depends on your symptoms and tolerance. It's pretty powerful stuff. You on it?
Good luck! If you have a big sex drive, buckle up! Remember to eat and drink.
Vyvanse helps me...I couldn't handle Adderall instant release it made me way too anxious.
Taking ritalin. Because I have SPMS.
They switching my son to this and I’m not happy to give this to him…
Ritalin only last 2 hours, max 2.5 for me :/ I wish it lasted 3-4 hours
How did it make you feel?
@@hermeameoshiit has very mild effects. I feel slightly more awake, somewhat more motivated, find it a bit easier to focus on stuff. Like a stronger form of caffeine.
i´am not a idiot
os no i´am on ritalin
Not feeling a damn thing on 36mg concerta. Ugh I hate this.
im watching this on Ritalin
Huh, so i was prescribed METH as a kid. Glad i didn't take that crap!
Meth as in anything containing the alkyl group (CH3)? Yes. Meth as in "Methamphetamine"? No. Methyl is just one carbon atom bonded to three hydrogen atoms. It's one hydrogen atom less than Methane (CH4). Very common.
@@redundantinfo I was being facetious since Ritalin is considered a stimulant.
Ritalin sucks
An awful drug period. Can use diet exercise behavior therapy among many others rather than enriching big pharma and side effects
God gives us just enough to handle and not anymore. Because God knows that we are strong and we can accomplish the goal where God got his eyes on us. Because God gives us freewill,we can do anything right; but sometime we take on more than what we can handle. So Just take one step and at a time no matter what.
I’m taking Ritalin. Wrote poetry book. Made a support group on facebook.

Don't try and push your views onto other people. You only believe in your version of God because of where you were born.
I see you commented the same thing multiple times. And you said you are on ritalin. I think you should lower the dose because you not looking so good.
