Once a lavish abode, this Portuguese palace now stands as a testament to the illustrious "Noguiera" family. This sprawling estate harbored the memories of a bustling household, accommodating the vast Noguiera family of 8 to 10 members. Countless rooms still echo with the laughter of those who once inhabited them, among them Lucinda and Emilia, likely cherished daughters of the house. Adolfo, a man of stature, had also matured within these walls.
Around 2014, a shift occurred - the Noguiera family's departure to Brazil was a quiet exit, and they never graced their grand palace again. The reasons remained shrouded in mystery. What puzzled onlookers even more was the neglect the property suffered thereafter. Time's gentle touch faded the grandeur, yet none of the heirs showed interest in reclaiming their heritage.
Nature began to reclaim its dominion over the once-stately halls, gardens turning into wild tangles. The forgotten palace stood as a poignant reminder of fleeting time, the whispers of its past now echoing through its abandoned corridors.

Abandoned Portugal Series S03E07: They Left the Country and Never Returned! - Abandoned Palace of a Brazilian Family
#abandoned #urbex #portugal
Oh Maureno, what a treasure you've found today! Thank you so much for sharing this beauty. I noticed several missing things on the table, someone probably helped themselves to a few valuables. How dare anyone do that! I commend you for the dignity and respect you show to these places. I wonder, will Remon continue the channel when you are in school? I wish you the very best in all you do. I pray you are able to pop in from time to time, I'll surely missyou! May God keep you and may your life be richly blessed. ❤
Maravilhoso!
Mind bogglingly beautiful palace! The furniture etc was amazing too as are the unique chandeliers. Always makes me sad to see the unique antiques left behind to just rot over time. I will never understand why people disrespect their family history like that! Thanks for showing us an interesting and gorgeous property. 🦘😯🥺
I hope someone will restore and love this house again. It's just horrible and sad to leave it rot away......💔😢
What a great explore 👍🏻makes me sick all those antiques left to Rott😒🫣I hope someone saves this house 😮
Wow! I absolutely love this house. I saw this house once before in another urbex video from a couple years ago or so, and you can really see the progression of the vandalism over the years. I can't stand or even make sense of such pointless destruction. This beautiful property deserves so much better. So far, your exploration of this place is my favorite so far. There was so much to see here, and you did a great job to focus on so many of the tiny details of this place. This house had to be absolutely glorious back in the day, with its inlaid parquet style floors and those traditional Portuguese ceilings. Let me say this, Portugal has some of the most incredible architecture! The lady who lived here put so much love and good taste into the way she decorated this home. People took so much pride in their homes back then. I wish they still did. Some of my favorite features? Definitely the newel post, with its glass finial. Stunning! Also I always love to see pianos, and this one was beautiful with the candle holders. I've never seen that in a newer piano! And that hand painted glass pitcher with the matching green glasses really caught my eye. How could anyone leave these things behind? Not to mention their family photos. There are some things in this life I don't understand. But I sure enjoyed this tour, Maureno. Thanks for giving this house the honor and recognition it deserves. It was fabulous!
Wow!! what a beautiful mansion, sad to see this place got left abandoned for a very long time, look like this people left this place in a hurry, love the dining room and high ceiling, thank you for sharing
Maureno ❣️💯👍That was worth a work out,in your touring this most comfortable beautiful palace. The lifestyle was going back a long ways,a sweet family there to enjoy and entertain others as well.Loved the picture of the bride next to the player piano, and it’s player piano pieces, loved the antique brick brac, knickknacks, and old toys in the top room upstairs. Thank you for your journey taking us along with you discovering so much. Also love Portugal abandoned videos, some of my favorites❣️🥰 Hope your school is a good one you’ll get plenty of new things to learn. And now I will need to catch up, and rewatch some favorites❣️
Such priceless antique furniture in there. The place is incredible. How wonderful it must have been, to live there in such beauty. I can't believe it. I hope this place stays there and in this good of shape. It's always a surprise that everything gets left behind. I think 1. there was no one to move things; 2. no place to take them too the size of this place; and 3. other family members didn't want anything. So all is left as it was.
Such a beautiful home, I just can’t believe nobody in the family would come forward to rescue these places
The penmanship in the drawer is called Calligrapy. It is how you practice the different lettering styles. She had quite a great talent for it!
I agree with you Melissa kuipers so sad how everything just gets left behind so very much I wish it would be saved
This is absolutely unbelievable that all of these beauties were left behind.😢
Yes i agree
It’s heartbreaking to see photos, clothes, toys and books left behind. Why? It is so sad. Such a shame to see this beautiful building left to decay. We will never see its like again. Thank you for sharing this. God bless. 🩷💚💜
The place is like a beautiful time capsul! Amazing!
THIS PLACE IS STUNNING, BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL! My eyes could tear up!
Such a beautiful place. Antiques one of a kind which 😊you won’t see once it’s gone. Thank you for the exploration
amazing😍😍 What beautiful places are just waiting to be found, and this is one of them. 😀well done.🤩👍
Thanks Maureno what a treasure cove you have been in. Lucky Man, such Lucky Man.
What a beautiful place! Such a shame it's deteriorating and the antiques & furniture are rotting away. I saw many valuables and collectibles. Great explore! 🥰
Very beautiful. I feel sad thinking that it’s abandoned and with no joy or life in it. Thank you for giving us this adventure.
Where's Remon?!? Great place all the way from the stained glass and beautiful furniture to the old photos. You and Dale from Escapade z always find wonderful photos. Thank you for taking the time to look at them and not just go cool old photos and then walk away. As someone with an extensive collection of old photos I truly appreciate it. Thank you for taking us along to this wonderful gem. Have a great day.

🌸Jaelyn from California here : Hi Maureno… What a GREAT Explore !!! 🥰❤️
Seen this explored before by ghost Hunters but you do a better job in exploring these places nice work keep it up.
In July/August 2014 The Grupo Espirito Santo (GES) went bankrupt. There's an article "Special Report" The billion-dollar fall of the house of Espirito Santo". Francisco Sa Nougueira had something to do with this company and it's fall. Brazil was mentioned many times so it would make sense that the family (if it's Francisco's family) left for Brazil and never returned to Portugal. There was a lot of money involved. There seems to have been some politics involved during the years before the Grupo Espirito Santo company ran into serious trouble.
The art work that flipped as you moved was so cool,,,this home is fabulous
I would like to comment that in these last videos you have been doing it faster :( Tbh it was better when you showed us more objects on the furniture even if it took you longer😅 Thank you for such an amazing video and for showing us this beautiful place ❤❤❤❤
really love for that bride standing near to the piano and now the piano is still but she isn't..
Thanks for the dream material. Wow oh wow!
Agree Unbelievable How could They leave All These Treasures Behind and Never look Back SAD WOW 😢
Oh gosh Oh gosh Oh gosh!!!! 😮😮😮😮😮 That's coming straight out of a fairytale, so so so pretty 😍 Each room is special in its own way, i love allllll the antiques and stuff, the amazing piano with the two candle holders! These pianos make me feel that i am in a fairytale. Just imagine darkness in the room, and the candles are on and someone is playing a romantic music! 😍 If i was a pianist, i would like to record a video playing on that piano, it would be so unique to do that! All the pretty wooden carved furniture are wow, and when you said " i still definitely prefer antique above modern " i couldn't agree more!!! You know me. Like you, i am obsessed with everything old and vintage. Unlike a lot of people of our generation, we are special and we appreciate the old, because for real, everything old is way prettier and makes the house look cozy and warm. At least people took time to make them with love and passion. When i will have my own house, i will fill it with antiques and i will not care what people will say about that 😏😒😌 So that was about the amazing furniture, now about the ceilings 😍🔥 each room has special painted ceiling and walls and that what makes the palace so magical 👌 This place is one of the best in Portugal for real. Even the basement in this place is not boring or creepy or eerie. Usually i don't like basements i find them scary or nonesene but in this house it was quite good and it has interesting stuff in it, especially the wine 😍 It was cool to see the photos, the letters and the books left behind for the little girl, yet sad to watch this masterpiece decay. But at least mother nature is taking over in a majestic way. Now a beautiful garden became a jungle and the spiders are building their webs in the most artistic way. So overall, the video was close to perfection, good job! I really enjoyed it. See you on the next one for another amazing explore in amazing Portugal! Bye ❤
GENIAL ME ENCANTAN ESTOS VIDEOS !!😍😍👏👏👏👏👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷

I loved walking with you seeing all the interesting rooms and beautiful furniture and ornaments. Thanks for sharing x
You did a wonderful job showing us around this palace. So very interesting.
Awsome Exploration Amazing and the Treasures left Behind WOW !😮
This kind of portuguese manor is relatively commun in the north of Portugal. In the late XIX century, many Portuguese man went to live in Brazil for some years and some came back to Portugal several years later having made a fortune, which they used to build beautiful mansions with the most refined taste of the time. These mansions are known as the mansions of "the Brazilians who came back", because their countrymen found them changed and started saying they were brazilian. According to Portuguese law, when there are several heirs to a house, everything inside must be left untouched until it's made official who gets what. You're not supposed to take anything, not even the family photos. The problem is that often one heir can't afford to buy the other's share nor agree on a selling price of the property and decades go on without anyone being able to rescue the precious contents of the estate. So this family probably didn't leave to Brazil, they are just entangled in a dispute over the property, which happens a lot.
It's fascinating how history and legalities can shape the fate of these beautiful mansions in Portugal. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and taking the time to write this comment Susana, it is much appreciated! ❤️
Wow Maureno two very beautiful explorations in one day I feel spoiled but I love it thank you💖💖💖
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful video.. I'm a silent viewer if yours, from Philippines
Well God forgive me for saying this..If they family wants it than the community should either restore it for a historical museum. Or, than no one has a right to complain if people take things. Believe me if I lived there I would go through gather all historical documents along with furniture and pictures and have restored and donate items to museum. I hate when people destroy such wonderful items..Thank you for sharing. Love from Bardstown KY in the US.💜
I really like the bathrooms the porcelain graffics are spectacular. Really cool. Thanks 🐟
Hi, I'm from Brazil. What a fantastic vídeo!! I know some people who belong to Nogueira's .

Wow, this is the best one Ive seen yet because of the photos of the ppl inside the house all those years ago. That was priceless that that album was left with the house. I absolutely love seeing the photos of the ppl who lived in these houses - its one of the best parts of abandoned houses. Thanks for sharing this awesome video! You did such a great job!

I love this location! The floors are beautiful! The ceiling rosettes are amazing as well. I loved watching your video as I got to see many things Leslie didn’t highlight when he toured this home. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this beautiful castle its remind me my beloved, home back in Afghanistan
32:15 That is not the same car you showed afterwards, the later one is a R4 Renault, the first one I do not know. But a great video and place! LG Roland
Absolutely fantastic‼️✌️
I love the dinning room cabinets ❤, the whole place is amazing 😊 Thank this exploration.
Thanks for the video, and this beautiful tour into this incredible palace. Unfortunately, I think it's maybe a legal battle between heirs that is involved in the state of the house... It often happens in rich families.
beautiful, thank you
Great video lovely place.😊
Hello again, Maureno for another fantastic Mansion! At 4:42, when you were in the doorway, the thickness of the exterior walls are overwhelming compared to the puny walls of our generation! Holler out @urbanexplorerchannel for the vehicle information! I’ll interject my observations on the picture at 32:13; the vehicle has Suicide Doors, single pane windows, two accents creased into metal of door below window the length of the door and less depth in back seat! At 32:21, front window is double-paned with a Chrome strip separating the front third of the window from the back part, the back door is double-paned and the window slides open, door handle is mounted closer to bottom of window, Chrome trim is below door handle (no trim in the picture), no creases in the door metal above the handle, and can see door hinge next to door handle! Definitely two different vehicles! Keep up the good work.
I feel like I know the family who lived there. What a treasure and comfort to live in such a place. I really loved the main entrance area with the stained glass windows that were curved. Amazing!
❤I love it thank you Greetings from Holland
Love watching you guys your voice is so calming, I headed you say that the year you filmed this was 2021, Hope you had a great gap year?? Please keep your videos coming for as long as you can. This is a beautiful home and I would love to transport back in time just to watch the day to day lives of these people. Thank You ❤❤
So amazing😍😍 beautiful places
Excellent as usual
Beautiful video and house
Hello Explomo...
IT WAS GORGEOUS!!
Me encantan vuestros vídeos de lugares abandonados, gracias! ❤🥰🥰🥰
Great documentary. Thanks for doing this. Where will these films end up?
Wow, beautiful home, them wooden based ceiling and the furniture and ornaments x my favourite place was the entrance hall, them painted walls, people pay hundreds for this design on wallpapet these days, what are we going to do in a year when you are doing your masters in medicine Maureno x
❤ I have been watching you videos ! And you are right this is absolutely amazing! Thank you very much, saludos desde Miami 🏝️🏝️❤️🌧🌧
Another great and buty abandoned mansion. Great job! 😊 cheers
