  • He's not wrong about it being a long process coming to the US legally. I came from the United Kingdom after marrying my US wife. It's expensive and lots of traveling, medical, interviews, biometrics etc. It's so worth it in the end though, America is brilliant and it's my home now. And I get to shoot whenever I want :)

One thing to mention is the rimfire is more cost effective if you live in a where firearms are allowed.

  • what you didn't mention is the availability of high powered spring airguns up to 30 cal that you can plink all day with (or hunt) for a few dollars, AND will give you a hell of a gym quality workout cocking:) Start with a .22, then move up to the .25 or .30. • @@vladimirmihnev9702Vlad, the .30 I have is a Turkish Hatsan, quality is very good, accuracy can be quite good and power is enough to kill deer, even wild pigs with good shot placement. I consider it an excellent survival type weapon, as its capable of doin in a home invader should the need arise, as well as bringing down a host of game:) With the low price of ammo, damned more fun than throwing money at paper, though you DO have to adjust/learn to shoot it as it jumps around a fair bit when fired. PLUS you don't have to spend 1000-1500 or more US for scuba tanks, pumps etc. nor do you have to cart all that stuff around, if you want to just go spend some time fooling around in the woods. One thing, it IS possible to 'diesel' this gun if you're not careful when you lube it. OTOH, it is also *possible* (but not necessary or advisable (disclaimer made:) to CAREFULLY diesel it on purpose which provides impacts you wouldn't believe. Don't make a habit of it...but....:) Lastly, hold off on a scope as the recoil/double direction reaction can destroy high dollar rifle scopes in very short order lol. Lastly, in total agreement on 'trigger' time, and you might just be surprised at how much fun the .25's and .30's can be. Don't know what the .30 costs now, but it was a steal when I got mine.

    • I get a lot better than that with my springers. I have a Diana 56TH, tuned down to 21fpe that absolutely nails it with the accuracy. An Air Arms Prosport that is also stupidly accurate for a springer. I own the Gamo G-magnum, same as yours but without the magazine system. My assessment is you're doing well to get those groups. It's a difficult gun to shoot, and isn't particularly accurate. Mine does 29fpe and is an absolute handful with a crap trigger. With springers, you can achieve more with lower power, because you can get good shot placement. I shot a round of field target with my 56th recently and it was completely unfair to the other springer shooters on the day.

  • The best part is the propellent is virtually free clean & abundant, "air". And you can make your own bullet with a manual press & lead rods/roles at home or in your man cave! OK you may need an air compressor or an extremely high-pressure hand pump {hand pump not an option for me} but otherwise THE off-grid apocalypse type perfect weapon! Well, who new:)

  • So why the muzzle brake on the Impact? Does the suppressor have an adverse effect on the shots? I see many guys use that brake it it’s freaking loud.
