  • There's a big difference between a tsunami and a storm surge. A typhoon does not cause a tsunami. The description of the waves from a typhoon might say a "tsunami type wave" only because it's a large wave, but a true tsunami is a displacement of water where the whole water column moves. And it behaves completely differently than a storm surge where only the surface of the water moves.

    @Trouble-Clef@Trouble-Clef Жыл бұрын
    • That is correct. The kinetic energy of a real tsunami wave is colossal and this is why it cannot be stopped and moves miles inside the land

  • Pretty good compilation, and here’s is why. You don’t encumber the videos with overdone dialogue and big spaces in between filled with unwanted descriptions of what is going on. I immediately stop watching any videos that do that. Thanks for giving the people what they want, and not inserting your ego into it.

  • 5:06..... wow. I live in Reno Nevada. We had a really bad flood in 2006. There's a bridge called booth street bridge that's easily 15 feet above the water level of the Truckee river at any given time. During the flood the water was hitting it so hard it was making an easily 10-15 foot tall wall of water. The bridge is very very well built the thing is like 6 feet thick of reinforced concrete. It was fuggin insane man. I parked my truck so the tailgate was almost touching the water and stood on the roof reaching as high as I could and my hand was still a good 4 feet lower than the water at its peak. I'm 6'5.

  • These videos are insane! Love 'em all. I do have to say this: @4:39 - That survival "expert" is giving dangerous advice. First off, what if the seatbelt gets stuck? You'll need something to cut it. Second, that headrest will NOT bash open a car window, especially one that is submerged (my survivalist guy's is above water). I suggest trying something like a 2-in-1. It breaks windows and has a cutter for seatbelts.

  • This kind of reminds me of Hurricane Katrina and all the rooftop evacuations that happen then. The city and state leadership told everybody to get out, ordered it actually days before the Hurricane hit, they sent over 1,000 buses into the poorer sections to help get people out who might not have the means, many refused to go or simply ignored the warnings and decided to stay...... Then it hits and the worst case scenario happens and all of a sudden those people having to be rescued is b/c of racism. It took days to get help and supplies to some people b/c of the massive destruction of infrastructure(not to mention an unusually high number of first responders reported snake and alligator encounters which tends to affect response time) .. Something the city, state and federal Govt directly talked and warned about, that's why evacuation was so important... But those people left on rooftops and those in buildings with dwindling supplies was all blamed on race. I remember that was the moment I realized how politics plays a role in everything and the media and those seeking to benefit from tragedy have no morals whatsoever and love creating division.
