  • It’s important to know your investment goals and what sort of returns you aim for. It is easy to find constant low risk investments options that keep up with or slightly pass inflation, but anything above that comes at the cost of more risk. Are you a fundamental or technical guy? Day trader, swing trader, buy and hold? Are you willing to take safer lower investment income over riskier higher income? Do you believe in market indicators? Can you recognize if you are trading out of greed, or if you are trading with a plan and purpose with stops put in place? That all takes time to learn and we all know that the economy and the markets are not the same thing.

It’s why children are recommended to stay backwards facing until they’re too big for backwards facing car seats. It reduces whiplash and the risk of being flung through the windshield during an accident because you hit the seat not flying through glass due to inertia

    @ELXABER@ELXABER Жыл бұрын
    • The steering is very reminiscent of the Mercedes AVTR, It seems to be the way automotive designers are focused. A move away from traditional steering wheels and a shift towards the way things are in the home, like remote controls, computer mice, touchscreens, even things like Wiimotes, PS Move controllers etc. My big concern is about reaction speed in an accident, gliding around what is in essence a mouse, unless it's unbelievably accurate, to avoid a collision, I don't know. There's a reason why the good ol' steering wheel (through cosmetic redesign, and evolution, but even so) is still the de facto automotive control system of choice. It's direct, and even though power steering is the biggest development, it's still ultimately driver connected to road.

      @mistermatix8241@mistermatix8241 Жыл бұрын
    • @@mistermatix8241 It will be for level 4 autonomous driving, so the car will be doing all the reacting. I think it's the same as the EV which is for transportation while ICE remains for people who want to drive. I see a lot of advancements in transportation but very few for automotive enthusiasts.

      @ELXABER@ELXABER Жыл бұрын
    • @@ELXABER I get the autonomous driving, but it's not infallible. Nothing will beat the reaction skills of a good driver/pilot. Autonomy is tested in perfect lab conditions/simulation, where the element of chance is kind of minimised, whereas on a driving lesson/test, you're in REAL WORLD situations, where anything can happen. Simulation vs reality. Also, with autonomous cars, it's removing the fun a bit. To the point where you might as well get public transport. In reality, I don't think we'll truly see the end of the steering wheel, it's tried and trusted.

      @mistermatix8241@mistermatix8241 Жыл бұрын
    • @@mistermatix8241 Autonomous would be faster than humans but also as you said, it's not infallible. But absolutely correct about the public transportation, that's what it is, just slightly personalized and semi-private. I'm not sure what the split difference will be between people who just want transportation and those who want to drive, but considering the number of people under age 30 who can drive a stick shift, it seems like a slow move away from the driver.

  • The New Model L100 Concept is interesting because it honors the legacy of the 1922 Lincoln Model L. Its sleek design with aerodynamic influences and Lincoln's Quiet Flight DNA create a futuristic look. Exciting features of this concept include jewel-inspired controllers for cars, unique door opening sequences, and a cinema-style floor. It's important to note that this is a concept vehicle and not available for purchase. This concept provides an idea of the potential for innovation and design advances that can be expected from the Lincoln brand in the future.

  • My view on cars like these where the car becomes a lounge, is that it sounds so perfect, but then I remember how bad motion sickness is when I'm not facing forward looking out the front window, & it makes me sad because I'd probably never be able to use the lounge features of these futuristic cars where you face backwards, and the windows become fully opaque.

    @occultbass@occultbass Жыл бұрын
    • ...but would you still get motion sickness if the windows were fully opaque & you couldn't see out ❓ Is it the actual movement that makes one nauseous or seeing the landscape whiz by....or a combo of the two .. . ❓❓

  • I remember having a concept cars book when I was a kid back in the late 90s half of the cars in that looked very similar to this. When will a car company actually make one of these for real?? Probably never. Or at least not till full autonomous vehicles are an actual and legal thing.

    • probably who in the future will be able to afford such a car will have a nice big garage, moreover it is an autonomous car, that is to say that you get off it and she goes to slip into her parking lot or garage independently, without needing space, even at the exit, first comes out of his garage and then comes to pick you up, he will be in front of the house to take you wherever you want
