Hey there, A dear friend of mine used to be a professional raft guide in Wisconsin for many years, and he used to go up to the rapid where people USUALLY flipped and then he would head down 1-2 rapids below that. Those were smaller and easier to dive in. He would only use a snorkel and he would find what would get washed down from the big rapid above, which meant sometimes really expensive sunglasses, cellphones, GoPro cameras, etc. Certainly NOT saying where you were doing your diving was a bad idea, just maybe where you could find more treasure and less trash. That was his experience at least. It also makes sense that individuals that just don’t care deposit their garbage in the river that they just enjoyed being on...sad but true. Hope that this info helps, happy hunting!

Hey guys I've been stuck indoors for that past month baby sitting and I've been looking at your guys videos and now I just want to jump into the water and start my own searching! I just wanted to know if you guys have any tips for starters like me that are on a certain budget with gear but want to get out there and also help clean up our local lakes and beaches, etc. Seeing the positive out come you guys have on not only finding cool stuff but helping the fish and community is what got me really interested in asking you guys this but if you ever come across this comment also know if I could spend the day with 3 people it'd definitely be you guys! There is a river in upper Michigan that you can kayak and tube on and I’ve seen really pretty rock down low the water is clear
When I was probably 6th grade, I actually found a tampon (which actually have blood stains on it) at my school's basketball court and played with it. I didn't know what it was until a friend of mine told me it's purpose and I went nuts. Thanks Tristen for reminding me of this horror.
