Thanks for checking out the wing tsun and jiujitsu video. I'm always very enthusiastic about my training and development as a martial artist. As much as I love standing in front of my opponent doing striking, I know there is increased risk of getting TKO'ed. So if I sense an opportunity to take it to the ground that is what I am going to attempt. Here I am training with my student, a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and a technician level in Wing Tsun. We are training this idea or concept. Get in close, shut down long range attacks, get a takedown and work your jiujitsu. RICKSON GRACIE has always been a fighter that stands out for all of us fight fans. In the end of the video you can see him employing a similar concept in his fighting strategy. Even his stance and strikes are very similar to the concepts of Wing Tsun. This has always been my goal in 高戰道. #wingchun #wingtsun #jiujitsu #wrestling #mma #ricksongracie #pridefc #martialarts #fightingconcepts #hongkong

  • I have trained WT for almost 20 years now, I have a small modest school in the states. A few years ago I decided to start bjj and you were one of the main reasons. It’s such a flawless blend. I call bjj rolling full body chi sau. This video is so dead on. This is what I’m trying to do at my school! You see fighting how I see fighting. It be an honor to train with you one day! You’re a master of the crafts! 👊🏻

  • Thats exactly what i thought after 15 years wing chun now entered in BJJ.. Great combination. Wing chun so needs sparring to be really practical as well as any other martial arts. Keep going sifu.. Best wishes from Germany

  • I quickly learned how limited I was in skills dealing with grappling after I began Judo. It is very unforgiving and tests you in so many ways. I'm 52 yrs old now, but started aged 51.

  • Cool Stuff I was a WT instructor as a young martial artist (21 years ago) before I moved to BJJ. As off bluebelt I started to use a lot of wing chun in grip fighting and pummelling. It works very well. OSS

  • The risks and uncertainty on the ground seems greater in a real life scenario to me. You don’t know who else is around, what the environmental dangers there are around, etc.

    • In regards to other attackers, yes I would agree. However, training to avoid a grappling encounter and not knowing what to do in a grappling scenario are two different things. When I was bouncing other attackers was quite common. So I would avoid a grappling exchange, but when I got to an attackers back and choked them unconscious or held them down against their will it proved very effective without having to injure them or take unnecessary risk on my part
