"It came to a point in my life where I really needed to stop," says Montreal Canadiens goaltender, Carey Price, opening up on a podcast about struggling with alcohol abuse and entering the NHL's player assistance program. Alyssia Rubertucci reports.
Good for him to talk about this publically. This should encourage a lot of other people struggling with addiction to take that first step, especially younger people who look up to him.

Carey, we’re not judging you, don’t worry. I have been experiencing the same problems and I realized that drinking alcohol did not bring any added value to my life. I have made the decision to stop drinking altogether. When I think of the past and the many mistakes I made because I drank too much, it doesn’t make me proud. The best thing to do is to not drink at all, not even at social events.

No he isn’t not even close , price is very inconsistent
@@glxphic inconsistent sure, but when he was on his game, I never saw a goalie more dominant than price since Roy and Hasek.
My dad Stu used to say 'Alcohol is the source of, and the solution to, all of life's problems'. I never really understood what he meant by that until I got a bit older. I think he was trying to tell me that while alcohol can sometimes cause problems, it can also be the solution to those problems. It's all about finding the right balance.

It's hard to unwind without alchohol. Imagine being able to afford it. These guys play the hardest game sometimes 4 times a week, while travelling.

Alcohol is tough to get over. I can only imagine how tough it is when people in the south dont have to get approved to order alcohol and can just go buy at a liquor store. In a remote Canadian community, we have to order and be approved by a committee if we want to drink or buy RIDICULOUS bootleg prices. Still doesnt stop people from buying, though.

Amazing great guy
One of the greatest goaltenders to ever play the sport. I would love to see Carey finish his career with a Stanley Cup.
Even if he retires I want to see him as a coach on Montreal so that down the road he can help grow the young guys and win a cup with them
