For best friends Becky (Grace Caroline Currey) and Hunter (Virginia Gardner), life is all about conquering fears and pushing limits. But after they climb 2,000 feet to the top of a remote, abandoned radio tower, they find themselves stranded with no way down. Now Becky and Hunter's expert climbing skills will be put to the ultimate test as they desperately fight to survive the elements, a lack of supplies, and vertigo-inducing heights in this adrenaline-fueled thriller costarring Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Rule #1: always alert someone you know that you will be doing something stupid and when they can expect to see you return for doing the stupid thing, so you don’t stupidly die.
Literally I went and saw it today and was thinking that! Why didn’t they tell someone what they were doing?
@@maemae7372 well if the girls followers knew since she was live streaming

Funny lol
If they survive this. She needs a new hobby and a new friend
⚠️ Uh spoiler, ⚠️ , so she’ll definitely need a new friend, and Her “best friend” cheated with her husband. It’s a shame her “best friend “ forced her to climb the tower. And when they climbed up, Her “best friend “ hunter, thought she would live, but the other lived and hunter died.

Same. So chilling. And it was foreshadowed so well!
Aside from the multiple "That would never happen that way in real life!" moments (and there are many), this movie will make you squirm in your seat and raise your anxiety level extremely high even if you're mildly scared of heights. For those people who love to tear apart EVERY movie for 'realism', sometimes, you just have to suspend disbelief and simply be entertained for a couple of hours. Just be grateful that, realistic or not, you'll never need to climb a 2,000 ft tower.
People do occasionally need to climb these towers and it can be done safely. I've been worked maintaining radio towers and I've been climbing for about 17 years. I get that the movie can be entertaining and intimidating for those who don't know much about climbing. When it comes to climbing in this movie it made no sense at all and it made it unbearable to watch for me. I guess experience kind of ruined it for me.

They sure do. It's a ridiculously good movie.
My heart dropped at one point while watching this trailer lol
This was a better movie than I thought it would be, truly quite riveting. And as one of those people who get uneasy up a ladder, I had near-constant anxiety once the girls started climbing, especially when they got to that final stretch of ladder out in the open. And when they were on that tiny platform at the top, I had waves of vertigo hitting me even though I was just sitting in my seat. Some belief has to be suspended (no pun intended), but the movie is well worth a watch.
Dude In had to fast forward it was garbage
@@zerocool1344 Well, we all have our opinions.
@@zerocool1344 agree, this film was a dumpster
Compared to "127 Hours" this movie sucks.
The trailer has made the first 70 minutes or more redundant. Fast-forward to see if they are able to get down and how they do it, or not. 2 minute and 27 second trailer. And Lionsgate are trying to encourage people to go to the cinema? Farcical marketing!
"Confront your fears." Sometimes, that's a bad idea.
Real talk!
For real... Especially if confronting it has High risk of dying
If your fear is doing something really stupid that has no practical value... Yeah, maybe it's OK to live with that fear.
We watched this and agreed we were 100% Team Fear
Not for these strong, empowered females. They can do anything a man can do and more. Looks fuckin stupid.
Just saw this tonight. I had cold sweats and trembles like I was climbing the damn antenna myself! Definitely a good movie and lots more interesting predicaments even beyond the trailer here.
Really? Was kind of dumb. Why didnt they put the rope on the bottom ladder rung at first? Then one go down to get water and then use rope to bring up water. Then unhinge the rope and use the missing rung loops to go down another 50 ft? They are expeirienced climbers. Those rungs which used to attach to the ladder were sufficient. They should have made it clear this approach wouldnt work.
@@jonathankr I thought similar at first, but from what I could see from some of the angle shots, it looked like the ladder brackets had sheared off with the ladders themselves (which wouldn’t have happened in reality). Otherwise, they could have gone down from bracket to bracket like that. I also wondered if the circumference of the cylindrical section was too big for them to wrap the rope and go down it like a tree climber. The other inconsistency with the ladder I noticed is that the ladder side stringer rails were not continuous. There were breaks between ladder segments. So one section shearing off at the top should not have peeled and taken down all the sections below it, but again then the movie would have been over too soon 😂
@@MysticStranger totally right. One of them could have wrapped around the tower and gone down like a giant tree...

I love this kind of movies with "minimalistic" fucked up situations. This is gonna be AWESOME!!! 🤙🏻🐦
Yeah, I enjoy this sort of premise, too. It's like a puzzle.
Idris Elba’s upcoming movie “Beast” is a great example.
Me too.. Like these types of movies.. When character struck and tries to get out from stuck up situation.. This movie seems to be nice.. Let's wait to 12 th of August..

I am just glad that movie doesn't have a stupid kid who's gonna mess up everything 🤣
Anxiety 101 while watching this movie, if your scared of heights then LOOK FOR ANOTHER MOVIE, looks so realistic from the top of the tower gave me chills throughout the whole movie..
I'm really afraid of heights even when walking in the mall and the floor is glass and I can see beneath I have to walk around or look away, or when climbing stairs when you can see the bottom between the different steps I hate it so much I have to close my eyes and get away as fast as possible. Besides the very obvious fact why being stuck there is so scary I also realized that they were sitting on bars the whole time so they could see the ground or what is beneath them the whole time. This is just horrible. Also they were leaving their phones lie around on these metals bars, I would be so afraid the wind is gonna push the phone a bit and then fall between the bars or I would accidentally push it. Ahh just thinking about it I get a knot in my throat. I hate heights! Just wanna be on the ground firmly 😅
I hate heights … but here they failed to catch the terror of its height … no idea why … all of us that watched it are and we all thought … well, they did not manage to catch its height as they fid in other movies.
That's me...thank you for your comment, I can't even handle the trailer, it felt WAY too long...I was about to faint, I had to look away! 😨😱
Because they are up an actual tower, only it is 100 feet tall not 2000 feet tall.
These two girls ruined my reception causing me to miss my favorite TV program.
I know its too late.... But i have to say this... Its called seat edge thriller type of movies... Engaging, entertaining, brilliant visuals... And of course the breathtaking twist... Hats off scott mann...
This movie is phenomenal! This movie makes it seem like you're there and I hate heights and seeing them on the tower as they look down my stomach started to get butterflies
yes this is very engaging movie
I hate heights and was really disappointed that they failed completely to catch its height and the terror … all of us that watched it are terrified of heights … but were somewhat disappointed about the lack of terrifying images in that movie. Cannot explain why as the situation itself is terrifying just thinking about it!
Now THIS is a film that needs an IMAX release.
No no it doesn't. bad movies need to stay out of the theaters.
@@ohhhreallynow9056 your opinion :)
Never would of thought a film about just climbing tower can make you hanging on all the way like you was on the tower yourself ! What a gripping roller coaster of a movie mindblown now these producers really know how to make a movie I could watch this again and again 🎥
This movie is MUCH better than you’d expect. People need to stop picking for realism and just enjoy a movie for once. Had my heart rate up, easily. Also, since many people in the comments don’t know how cell towers work: If you’ve ever seen a cell tower, you will see multiple rectangular *directional* antennas surrounding it. Those have a very narrow angle of broadcast/reception each. They are also angled ever so slightly down, only meant to cover a certain area, so as to avoid interference with other towers. imagine coverage as a very wide triangle from the top of a cell tower. In such a situation, you could be within the coverage range on the ground, but be well above it, by the time you hit 1000 feet. Not to mention, the tower depicted in this movie, at 2000 feet tall, would be far taller than any cell tower. This tower does exist, known under a different name. TLDR: cell towers are made of many directional antennas, and don’t broadcast/receive very much higher than their own height. This tower in the movie is far taller than any cell phone tower.
For me it was less "realism" and more "I see enough lives lost for really stupid reasons in the real world, so I really don't feel any need to cheer for the survival of someone who's actively throwing theirs away." I did enjoy the film. It was well-made. But I can't pretend I didn't spend most of it cheering for nature and common f***ing sense to win by punishing these two imbeciles.
This trailer didn't really strike me as "unrealistic", though. It looks terrifying! And I'm disappointed I never heard of it before.

Congrats, Lionsgate. You've broken me. I have tried to watch this film three different times and I can't make it more than a third of the way thru before I turn it off. I've watched some of the most horrific and nightmarish videos online with little issue... cartel murders, beheadings, gory car accidents, etc. This film though gives me terrible anxiety. I can't handle heights. I had no problem with heights as a child. I climbed everything in sight. Now in my late 40s I can't even go out on to the roof of a two story building without feeling an urge to lay down.
I gotta say. Out of every single movie that I have seen...this is the only one that gave me anxiety, made me feel genuinely scared over a movie, and gave me chills
My heartrate was going just from the trailer
This movie has a lot of hate from the teaser trailer... but when you actually watch the movie, you'll realize it's surprisingly good... It's better than I expected... the music in the film really brings out the suspense and tension involved... if you liked Frozen (not the Disney one) or 47 Meters Down, then this movie is a must 👌
I actually liked the teaser trailer. Sure, the animation in that looked a little stupid, but seeing how high the tower was made my jaw drop and eyes widened. I was immediately hooked onto it. And right when I saw the two struggling to hold on to the rope, I knew I had to see it.
I've seen several comments talking about Frozen and all of them put "(Not the Disney one)" right after I find it so funny, honestly though it is helpful.
Where can i watch it though?
Yes I immediately thought of Frozen when I saw this trailer. :P
Where to watch this
A good movie full of suspense and unexpected twists. Ending was different than I expected.
Highly recommend watching this film I was expecting a mediocre and bit cringy film but I loved every moment of it and i'm still thinking about it the day afterwards
If i were to climb something like that (which I would never) I'd definitely have on a parachute!!
Everyone: wow, so scary! Alex Honnold: hold my beer
I know right... I just can't wait to read the comments after the release... especially from Alex Honnald
As someone who's also seen "47 Meters Down", I saw the plot twist coming a mile away, including the thing about Dan. But it was still entertaining and a thrill to watch.
You know any similar movies?
YES, same. It was kindve cheap to use the same twist in both movies. I actually mentioned the 47 metres down twist to my boyfriend while watching this before knowing it was the same producers.
This moviee is beyond my expectations. It was sooo sooo good.
I have watched this movie last night in Singapore. Trust me, this movie is very thrilling and exciting, so much better than this trailer and the teaser. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole 105 minutes. Must watch it at a cinema! One of a better Lionsgate movie! :)

I can't get over how stupid this. "We're thrill seekers, so let's climb an abandoned tower in the middle of nowhere that's spent who knows how many years getting pelted by the elements." That tower looks about as structurally sound as a ladder made of cheese. Hard to be thrilled by something that starts off as such a dumb decision.

Fun fact: The film's original dialogue that included over 30 "f-bombs" was dubbed out to make this a PG-13 film once Lionsgate picked up the rights to the film. This was done using an AI dubbing technology system that alters onscreen mouth movements.
