  • What an amazing match and what a hard fought gutsy play by Daniil Medvedev to stop Djokovic from his 21st and winning all four Grand Slams in a calendar year. Congratulations to Medvedev for his maiden GS. Hope to see high intensity tennis again in 2022 and hopefully Rafa and Roger will be back from their injuries too.

  • I watched Novak's post match conference interview and he said his serve wasn't there like it usually was, it certainly didn't look that way, I just think Daniil was at his top level and he was determined not to be dictated to in the rallies, he also varied his tactics during the match, he just played a near perfect match. This is great for tennis to have a new Grand Slam champion, the US Open is so exciting, definitely becoming one of my favorite tournaments.

  • the different between the us open final 2021 and 2023 is that the 2021 match was a daysession and 2023 in close roof and when the roof is closed then the centre court in new york is like a night session match. And djokovic is in the night session a complete different better player. Djokovic biggest opponent is always the heat and the sun, i mean even even on clay is novak a better player then nadal in the night session. Nishikori was also better in the heat us open 2014 daysession match against novak, but in he rematch 2018 novak destroys nishikori in the night sesion by the us open.

  • Wow what a clean victory for Medvedev! He played excellent tennis with impeccable serving, great hitting from the back of the court. I always consider him a player who plays high percentage shots and always get the ball back in play for longer rallies but the key was that he pulled the trigger and got aggressive at unexpected moments in the rallies..the insurance break in the 3rd saved him big time..Djoker was clearly feeling the pressure and nerves based on numerous uncharacteristic misses, with what was at stake but Medvedev deserved this so much…He was the better player overall and happy for his breakthrough…Tennis needs new faces to lift grand slam trophies…What a year for Djoker but next season will be very interesting to see…The Olympics losses and this one will sting a lot…Medvedev and Zverev seem to be the ones to watch out moving forward..and what a storyline with the big 3 still tied at 20-20-20…As a Fed fan, I didnt complain at Medvedev’s win but again hats off to Djoker for a phenomenal year!

You can't hit through him because he gets to everything. He is very fast, with long arms, and a long stretch stance, so Novak just could not get anything by him. Other than a few bad shots, Novak did not play poorly. Daniil was on another level. Medvedev will have more problems with guys like Roger or Thiem. Roger who can mix it up so well, hit huge approach shots, and put away volleys, or guys like Thiem, who can just blast through almost anyone. Well played.
