@@mikashi2653 as someone said in the previous post. Blue & Grey was written by V and initially wanted to put in his mixtape. When the members heard the song they like it so much they want it to add in their album. The original lyrics were even "too dark" according to Suga and told V to revise it.

The song came out when V had hard time sleeping at night, cause he is a kind of flexible and relaxing person but living in such an extremely hectic life which burdened him so much, then he’s been through ‘Burn out’. One day, he was trying to write down his feeling into lyrics and a song too. V said “sometimes we don’t have to say cheer up to someone who suffers. instead of it, I think saying like ‘Are you having hard time too?’ this kind of honest, sincere conversation can be powerful consolation which can heal each other. this is a song conveying those feelings.” For me the lyric part ‘don’t say you are ok. Because you are not (means when you are having a hard time, don’t pretend you’re totally fine. Ask others to stay with you) really touched. Such an angel...and deep thoughtful person.

I don’t have depression, but blue and grey was a great representation of my emotions during the pandemic. Feeling alone, seeing all of the things happening in the world at that time, etc. The 2020s have been exhausting, to say the least…

I have been challenged with clinical depression most of my adult life. It was triggered by my dad's death. I found a wonderful female doctor who diagnosed me right away. She told me I'd be fine in about a month. She prescribed medication. And found me The Best therapist. And the doctor was right. This was over 20 years ago. Clinical depression is highly treatable. It's a bio disease. It's not a ...you are crazy...type of thing. Our bodies just don't make enough serotonin. So I encourage you to go to a professional psychiatrist doctor. They know the difference between bouts of prolonged sadness and clinical depression. I also suffered from anxiety and panic attacks. There are meds for that too. If you don't have medical insurance you can go to your local mental health clinic and get everything free. If you qualify. I did that at times when I was in college and not working. I wish you well. I understand all the pain. But ask someone to help you. Reach out. Time with proper care will heal you. And then you can help and encourage others because you've been there. God Bless you on your journey to His Light.
I want to thank Taehyung for this song. It’s the kind of song we can all identify with in our own personal way. For me it inspires hope, love and courage.

I thank Kim Taehyung every day for writing this song. This exposes many of my emotions hidden deep inside me. Which is painful to listen to, but at the same time reassuring that I am not the only one. I’m not alone in this journey.

As someone who has struggled with anxiety and depression, I can say that this is one of the first songs I have heard that expresses how it feels while you are going through this. Most songs take a "oh shucks" approach to it. This song does not and it makes me cry each time I hear it.
The video is so well done. None of them looked at each other. You really get the feeling of the song - each one of them is singing by themselves, in their own world - even surrounded by other people the person still feels alone/lonely.
Fact: Taehyung stated he wrote "Blue & Grey" when he was at his lowest point, when he was asking others whether he could keep going with his work or not. V wrote this song when he was having a tough time understanding where he was heading and so he was at a really low point in his life. He said that he knew that he always wanted to be successful in music. However, now that he was successful, how come he was so unhappy. V felt that if he could write his feelings down, then perhaps he could come to terms with them and maybe see the light at the end of this dark tunnel. So Yoongi, being Tae's biggest help in supporting his friend to find his voice, helped Tae in expressing his feelings. Blue is Yoongi's favourite colour and Y feels that it represents him, whilst grey is Tae's favourite colour. Hence why the song is called 'Blue and Grey'.
