Fun fact: Scripulous fingore does have a proper origin. It was made as a quick joke by a KZheadr named Meatball. His breakout video was talking about Super Meat Boy but in his community tab, he brings up how he was the one that made the model and finger wag gif, which he was very surprised how much it blew up.

The "So long king bowser." is another misconception. Adding king in there would add to many syllables. Mario adds "a" to a lot of his words. So it's most likely: "So long-a Bowser." The A in long, being pronounced like ayy.
The idea that Mario says "King Bowser" was actually stated by Charles Martinet himself.

The wet dry world psrt was just painful to watch. Human brain, green coins, teleport to a beta of the map, buildings on fire... So much stuff that the N64 can't do
I can't help but eye roll at those "creepy vibes" playing the level. Playing that world as a kid on my ds was just like any other world. I was more freaked out by that piano monster
honestly the fact that so many of the fake anti-piracy screens were made to be scary always bugged me the Mario Party one felt like it genuinely wanted to be authentic aside from maybe the creepy music, so many of the others that spawned from it tried way too hard and were basically just generic creepypasta material

The reason it works so well is because not that many people remember this scene from the game because they've either never played it or just forgot about it being in the game.

Weird that so many people are talking about the "So long King Bowser" thing and not the fact that the plaque very obviously says Eternal Star and this has been the accepted reading in the Mario 64 fandom since like 2001.

I think the reason Rosalina as a baby looks similar to regular Rosa is because casual players (who may not play Mario games outside of party games like kart, party, and the sports) wouldn’t recognize her. Of course it’s a discredit to her lore, but I highly doubt that they designed her to retcon her backstory. It’s probably for recognizability for fans who didnt play galaxy

I swear to God I've heard the full, uncut "so long, king-eh Bowser!" voice clip online before but for the life of me I can't find it. The idea was that the voice clip was just slightly too long, it would have still been playing as Bowser hit one of the mines, so they cut out "king" but left in the "eh" from the accent pronunciation, likely done by a Japanese developer who wasn't a native English speaker.

Mario is honestly so devoid of interesting theories and rumors because so much of the series lacks any depth. That’s not an insult either, it’s my fav game series, and its simplicity is what keeps it timeless. However, something like the “Boo evolution” theory just isn’t fun to think about because you know the devs just made a ghost enemy with no other intentions behind it lol Also all of the “horror” created around Mario 64 is just cringe.
