Re: The Hidden Door - I vote to make it a useable door. Unless I am missing something, the convenience of having direct, discreet access to the kitchen while hosting guests in the dining room outweighs the utility of having a bar. I like white for a laundry room - seems appropriate. Per usual, enjoyed your video.

As a child in the 70’s my parents renovated a Victorian property. I only got to see my Dad if I worked with him on projects. It made me a resourceful person with DIY skills and no fear of fixing things. A great upbringing for any child. Hope Anna feels better soon.

me too, I have been widowed for 5 months now, which of course is during this ghastly covid virus and here in Canada we're back in another lockdown. This is the first time I've not only laughed but laughed out loud. God bless you Phillip.

I'm 65 and I still do it. The trick is to stand back and rock back and forth, letting your legs do some of the work. As much as she's painted she's got the muscles.
Anna’s pain from watching Phillip use the sponge and the kitchen island is greater than the pain from going to the dentist.
That night she used his toothbrush to clean the bathroom.
For the hidden door: my vote is to use as in the original concept. Who else gets to have a hidden door?!

A secret door and entrance into a whole other room is very cool to me. Put drinks in a cabinet in both rooms. No one else has secret doors! Wonderful vlog. Lovely girls and family.

I have an affection for the colour green. When we moved into our house I was told that I wasn't allowed to paint all the rooms in green. I settled on some soft buttery yellows and ever so slightly green greys in addition to the greens I manage to sneak in. I am in favour of keeping the secret door with bar access on both sides. It is such a unique feature.

The kids have n the family used to call my mom Green Grandma. Guess why, lol. Her car was also green.
Green (and yellow) is my favorite color.
If you need the doorway: reuse it. If you don't need it, a shelf is always a good idea. From two sides - the bar idea is very good for this. Or books.

That finished room is a dream. Small enough to showcase the chandelier. The gold yellow paint is so right on. A pleasure to see these messy rooms come to fruition.

I can physically feel all the work you have done. My dad built and renovated 13 homes, my brother did 3 of his own homes, my mother had 13 rental properties and did most of the "fix-it," tasks herself and I either volunteered or was required to help with them all ! After the first two years for most of the projects it was a test of self-will to continue. You guys are doing so good!
Keep the door as a hidden door. So convenient too to get to the other side of the hall to the dining room.

The idea of having a hidden drinks cabinet with access from both sides is VERY useful. Especially when people need drinks for whatever reason. either in the laundry room (to relax, calm down), or in the living room? dining? To be merry ;)

Hope Anna is feeling better after her dentistry work! The room looks fantastic! I wasn’t sure about the color as it was going on the walls, but in the end it really looks gorgeous. “The Influencer” and Lilly did a bang up job on the light fixture as well! Sometimes the service entrances can be a bit much if a room already has several doors, multiple windows etc, but when it’s built so you can hide it that’s not a problem and a hidden door is always charming! One of the houses I grew up in had one that melted seamlessly into the oak shelving of the old library/smoking room. If closed it really looked like there was only one way in or out, I loved that as a child! Super sneaky. Great video, well done!

The office looks wonderful and the laundry room has a great refresh. So meticulous and it shows. You can put drinks anywhere but a hidden door is priceless. What a great jacket.
