This is one of my favorite scenes in the whole show. Raylan is (unusually) incorrect in his anger at Boyd for Quarles's misguided accusation, and Boyd is genuinely unhappy about it. This is one if those moments that prove that despite being very much the opposite of Raylan, Boyd still respects him and wants other people to respect him as well. It also demonstrates just how much Boyd cares about his community, even if his methods of caring for it are often more detrimental than helpful.
well this is what I don't see people understand. Boyd is like Raylan, and several times try to do what's right, but Raylan's treatment of Boyd brings him back down . Raylan pegs him as a criminal treats him as such, and Boyd gave up, and be what people think he should be. The sad part is Boyd really love Ava, but to blind to see what she is asking.
people don't understand the show. Raylan and Boyd is the opposite sides of a coin. They are like brothers. Raylan is the law, but Boyd is about the rules of the community, Harlan. Boyd is an outlaw, but follow the rules of the community, and is respected. Raylan isnt the good guy. Raylan isn't a hero. He is an anti hero. Look what he did. He beat up the two Crowders. in this episode, Raylan's father is sick. It is Boyd who cares for Raylan's father, while Raylan don't care. Boyd cares for Harlan, but Raylan wants' to run away. Both started from the same place. Digging coal. When the mine closed, Raylan's aunt/step mother gave her life savings so Raylan can go to college. Boyd joined the army. Boyd tried to be good, but something always drags him back down. Raylan is one of those things .
