Did Phillips kick Gordons leg? Ans= yes. Is it protocol to stop play if a player is down with an injury, esp a head injury? Ans= yes 🤷🏻♂️ Tek it on the chin man, move on!!
Did Gordon play the ball? Ans = No. He played the man and positioned his leg between the Phillips and the ball when Phillips was making a clearance. If that was a striker shooting the ball at goal, it would have been a foul to the striker. If the ball is not within Gordon's possession, what claim can he have to that being a foul?

We lost this game from the technical bench, Antonio has the strength to hold on the ball for Kudus, Lucas and Bowen to join the attack but he took him off and no one is holding on the ball on the opponent half again and they use that opportunity to attack us and score us,

Can never understand why managers don’t fine players who throw themselves to the ground on their knees when they celebrate their goal. The knee is the most crucial joint for a footballer. Those sort of celebrations could cause an injury or even worse. Players are worth far too much money for that sort of risk.

I've seen the goal at least 3 times now but I've only just realised that for our second goal, Bowen's not actually passing the ball to Kudus he's actually trying to dribble, take another touch and get a shot away himself but Mo takes it off his toe 😂😂 If he didn't score, I'm sure Jarrod would have been fuming with him for that 😂😂

The referee gave newcastle a free penalty...the penalty rules must be reviewed and refuned else players like gordon will keep on doing that. So the referee literally gave newcastle two free penalties. This is injustice
Law says penalty but I’ll agree that it’s not how the game should be paid and it used to be the referees job to ensure the spirit of the game is kept alive. Sadly no longer

So Gordon hooks his leg in front of Phillips preventing him from the clearing the ball and VAR deem that a penalty and the ref bows under the pressure.....it was a deliberate action and disgraceful desision by the ref

An undeserved penalty in my opinion, a bad game by Coufal, a terrible game by Phillips - it just so happened that all these things coincided on one day. 2 times gordon doest go for the ball and simply aims to jump infront of people kicking the ball and gets penalties. Makes sense. Thought you had to go for the ball and not for the foul.
The penalties that are give in the EPL these days are just baffling to be honest. It now seems that penalties especially from handballs are now entirely dependent on the whims and caprices of the ref on any given day. Just plain farcical tbh

@@ifldiscovery8500 I remember the foul for which a penalty was awarded but unlike the Philips situation, Mateta who was fouled got possession of the ball and didn't just put his leg in the way like Gordon did in this scenario. But I have to agree, they are similar situations and that's why I blame Kalvin Philips more for not taking proper control and being more aware of his surroundings than the Ref for awarding the PK. I think the referee was bias to westham. Look at that kelvin Philips tackle, it was a foul for Philips. And consider where kudos pick the ball and was clearly foul but the referee said no. God will punish this stupid referee
He was crap all round I reckon. Paqueta won a few fouls by simulating that had nothing in them. However that second pen was scandalous and while the game was already changed for the worse, that pen destroyed our chances of crawling away with a draw

Allowing West Ham and kudos to do that with the free kick when Schar was clearly down and fouled made us seek redemption. Gordan was faster than your half asleep bunch, barnes was around and has legs, that’s how we won 🤷♂️. Can’t blame Moyes for that bcos any manager in world football would have done the same as Moyes when Newcastle were having all of the forward play and looking likely to score. West Ham have always had slow reacting players, and Moyes takes the blame for that. Whereas with Eddie, he’s mature enough and patient enough to know 90% of our troubles and scorelines hasn’t been his fault. It’s down to the players finding thag motivation. And they had it today. That’s why we won.
As a neutral the second Newcastle penalty was a travesty. Football is becoming stupid now.

Dan Burns from Newcastle should have being red carded for stopping Kudus with the shoulder. Its quite surprising nobody is talking about this incident not even at the MOTD analysis. Kudus was clearly on his way to score but Burns shouldered him. Eventhough the VAR has been biased to West Ham David Moyes has also bottled it alot of times with his silly substituitions. This defeat is on Moyes

Westham fans know for sure that quickly taking a free kick while a player is still lying on the floor injured is unfair.

A pulsating game, but the game swung our way on that second penalty call which was very hash. Phillips had no idea Gordon was behind him when trying to clear and simply kicked Gordon as he put his leg in front. We were lucky that the ineffective almiron didn't last long and was replaced by Barnes. We also dodged a bullet when deciding not to go for Philips in January, his reaction to your supporters when getting on the bus was disgusting, for that his loan spell should be terminated and sent back to Manchester. All the best for the rest of the season lads ⚒️

Barnes has only played 12 games, yet has the same amount of goals. Almiron has had his time, if we are to progress then we need to upgrade him.

If you pair him with Murphy as they often rotate on each game - 5 goals and 4 assists 😁. You're just another stats guy that doesn't appreciate work horses. How much defensive work do Miggy and Murphy manage...plenty. It's a team game and while we can hopefully upgrade re FFP/ Minteh etc, Miggy is an excellent squad player...

I like miggy, but his work rate and cheesy grin isn’t going to see us progress. Time to cash in in the summer, reinvest the money into an upgrade, and wish him well
