I had goosebumps at the end.. this arrangement and audio quality is just unbelievable
The bass player is not from this world. She is amazing. Im a bass player myself and this is so difficult to manage to do in such an ensemble! The sonority, tunning, articulation. This is a high quality bass playing I wonder, How long did they rehearse this? This piece its really great with bass. Great choice. Unbelievable ensemble. Top chamber music making
Thank you for this comment. For me a double bass player in such a small ensamble is new. But evidently this works out the best way it can! I also love this. Sinfonia Consertante in a different way.
Thank you all for your kind words ❤
@ And thank you, Uxia, for taking care of all of us, only admirerers and amateurs. :-) :-) :-)
@@staffanolofsson8201 you are all very welcome ❤️🫶
I dare say only a few days together before the festival. Any advances on that?
Audio engineers take a bow...perfect balance of sound for each instrument and the ensemble. Magnificent performance by all. Bass player exceptional.
Audio engineers take en *extra* bow for getting rid of (or at least taking down the levels of) Ridout's "chainsaw" A-string.
@@liamnevilleviolist1809 What? "Ridout's "chainsaw" A-string" ? Never heard it...🙃🙃
It's called noise signature removal, be it mostly on mic. Or special strings , I doubt it went that far / extra micro editing.
Agree totally with you.
You’re right-there’s something special about this video and it’s the clarity of the recording. From the moment I heard it I felt like I was in the room with the musicians. Such clarity!
Wonderful to see these talented musicians showing their joy in playing Mozart
I love the full blooded playing here. Everyone is in the ensemble is clearly star material.
Even, but perhaps too quick?
Are they playing the notes too quickly?
This interpretation shows that it is possible to play this Sinfonia with only seven musicians. A wonderful rendition with wonderful musicians! Thank you all!
I agree I think is possible to play this piece with 7 people. If you have those musicians! What a lineup
Agree as well. And the double bass version was a a very judicious joice.
So nice when Hochrhein Musicfestival Productions tells us: "The double bass part was added spontaneously during rehearsal time at Olsberg by Uxia Martinez Botana herself :) ". I think it is good that musicians still have the freedom to experiment a bit with music, that it isn´t locked forever. In this case it turned out to be a success!
I actually attended one of Uxia Martinez masterclasses in London and I saw how she can do on the spot a bass part out of a score. Apparently was one of the requisit to be Gidon's Kremer soloist in Kremerata. I was amazed of the amount of repertoire she knew ... must have been an amazing training. She is a Pro, quite some brains in there! And brutal instincs!
@@nashagerhardt9239 Thank you for this memory. And yes, she is brilliant.
Such great players every one of them. They each had moments of sheer virtuosity as well as moments of pure beauty. So fun to watch their collaboration!
Just 5 strings make for so much power and melody....Astonishing
Great recording/arrangement!! The bass sound just soothes my ear. As an amateur double bassist myself, I feel like I've never produced such warm and smooth sound. Astounding Uxía is a pro!
Excellent! And the final smiles! Yes, one is prettiest when he's nearing the finish line. He already knows he's won.
Einfach wunderbar.
The Andante was absolutely spellbinding!
Thoroughly enjoyed this fabulous rendition of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Sinfonia concertante. Thank you.
Wonderful! Musically so enjoyable. Thank you Mr. Joël Cormier, the sound engineer, for capturing this superb performance of the ensemble for us who could not attend the concert. The music energy is trying to go beyond the technical limit of the Opus encoding. I only hope someday in the near future KZhead will start including the original WAV file intact as it was uploaded.
The Andante is supernal Seraphic why it can be said our struggling existence is graced by the miracle called Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
A beautiful performance.
Bravo, bravo, bravo! The best rendition ever!
Amazing transcription! Never heard this masterwork played with such ensemble. Outstanding soloists!
This is a great channel. Thank you for sharing these fantastic performances.
Genial!
What a great performance - and also cudos to the technical team!
I love this so much, I can never go back to a traditional arrangement.
Absolutely gorgeous!!
Absolutely brilliant! I hadn't heard or even thought of a 7-part arrangement of this gorgeous work. Well-filmed with great sound as well. Bravo
he adds so haunting layers to the main theme that it sounds inexplicably beautiful in the end
Everything from Sol Gabetta and her musical friends never fails to please me.They just set the standard for decades to come!
Solo Mozart
I am not usually a fan of Mozart works "for the weekend", but this is a stunning rendition. BRAVI!
Astonishing performance…what a talented and vibrant musicians. Bravi!
... damn. Absolutely gorgeous.
This wonderful performance is Colossal All of Mozart’s music is comfortable to the ear and to the mind, and will quench and moisturize the dryness of the soul
Interesting setup choices, with the lead viola part bouncing between several musicians, mostly first cello. Beautiful performance! 🙏🏼
You guys are fantastic ... I love your performance, your presence, your sense of style, your wit, your musicianship ... BRAVI !!!
Bravissimi !!!! Andante favoloso .....
Absolutely wonderful. Bravo
Splendid performance, one can listen to this every day.
Wow, absolutely stunning. Thank you for sharing this. Remarkable arrangement and extraordinary performing!
BEST EVER!!! Period!
I’ve never seen such intensity of happiness from the musicians coming out of any stage, large or small
that viola player! Up there with David Oistrakh playing Viola in that famous historical performance and with William Primrose when he played this piece with Heifetz
the role of viola is here shared by many instruments. eigenartig !
dynamics and timing -perfection and playing divine all around --a treasure
I can only confirm your comment! Unbelievable performance. Unbelievable technical production. 5 Stars!
What a lyrical yet breathtaking performance. A delight. I also enjoyed the assignment of lines to Gabetta I have not heard before. And the prospect of a charismatic, electrifying double bass player almost seems like an oxymoron. Could you conceive of a tuba player with charisma? But Uxia Martinez Botana shares your entire ensemble's spirit of youthful enthusiasm, and pizazz. I see Botessini Duo for Violin and bass are in Botana's repertoire. Is that possible, or some other Bottesini, perhaps the F# minor Concerto? Your entire group brings something so fresh to this much-loved piece. Please. More of the same. Chapeau bas!
…and they’re performing it magnificently. Sounds just heavenly. They sure have style.
Excellent performance! As much played as it is pantomimed. 🙂
Oceans of thanks to you, guys! Marvellous, simply marvellous. It's been on repeat for the second day.
Das Beste, was ich seit langer Zeit an Musikalität erleben durfte, danke!
Extraordinaire, dès les premiers accords, on s'envole...
Probably the greatest performance and recording in terms of quality and interpretation. Amazing
So wonderful
The bass player is not from this world. She is amazing.
WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL
This is just magnificent - what playing and what joy!
22:17 reminds me of gansta paradise
What an energenic performance! Interesting how the solo parts were divided up among the whole ensemble. I used to play this work with a violist friend in high school. If I had only known about this arrangement, we could have had fun with more of our friends.
PS Hochrhein Musikfestival Productions: In the heading you have forgotten Dmitry Smirnov, violin.
Thank you for correcting this.
Smirnov is so cute ❤
Excellent Performance 👍 22:16 , but i prefer the original performance : For solo violin, solo viola, two oboes, two horns, and strings .
Bravo 👏 👏 👏
Magnífico!
b Bravoo~!!!
Mozart oh Mozart!
Is the bass player just doubling the second cello part, just playing it one active lower? (Of course, they would have to be some adjustments for the notes that are below E.)
Would the marvelous bass player give us a concert of the works of Serge Koussevitzky?
❤❤❤❤❤
I got seasick watching the double bass player.
And could you stand up at the end? 😂
Who did the arrangement ?
unusual variation..but enjoyed it!
That Mannheim crescendo in the first movement!
Listening, thanks for sharing! Who wrote this arrengement?
I dont know. In wikipedia it says: "The piece is scored in three movements for solo violin, solo viola, two oboes, two horns, and strings, the last including a divided viola section, which accounts for the work's rich harmony". But I can see no oboe and no horn in this. So we have to wait for someone knowing about this arrengement.
originally, the piece was written for solo violin, solo viola, two oboes, two horns, and strings. This version here is an anonymous arrangement from 1807 for Grande Sestetto (2 violins, 2 violas, 2 celli). The double bass part was added spontaneously during rehearsal time at Olsberg by Uxia Martinez Botana herself :). @@hochrheinmusikfestival Thanks for this. An absolute triump. Subbed. And to Uxia... I salute you. Great ensamble.
@@davidzam33 Yes, the double bass contributes very much to this fine interpretation.
I think only uxia martinez can give that quality of performance on bass
🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
For what ensemble was this originally written? Is this the same Sinfonia Concertante that orchestras often play with violin and viola soloists? Or is it an expanded string quartet?
Hermione is an excellent cello player, I see.
very nice. you don't often see a girl play double-bass.
Bravura playing and interesting arrangement, a new Mozart string septet, but it isn't the sinfonia concertante. Very enjoyable all the same, obviously for everyone.
Please also play: Sinfonia Convertante K.Anh.104/320e for Violin, Viola[,] and Cello (unfinished work, but great)! That one is played way too seldomly.
Nice interpretation, but I miss too much the oboes and the french horns, also having a Viola concertante instead of a Cello sounds better for me Anyways, really nice work
